TIME STAMPS: 2:10 - why we chose this apartment 3:08 - the process of getting an apartment 8:05 - rent / expenses 12:30 - what you need to consider before getting an apartment
Hii this is a two year old vid but i found this really helpful! Coming from tokyo and already in northshore but moving in soon with my friends in the city. I hope you can make more for tips and tricks living in the city!
I am the complete opposite I can't study at home I find it to distracting and prefer to Study on campus and it means I have friends as well to hang out with
Itz Lyna yes I can definitely do that! i didn’t think people would be interested but just lemme know what you want me to talk about and i can do that !
Wincy oooooo just hearing the experience of a law student at uoa really. From students who are interested in taking law what are some of your advice? Is law really competitive as it sounds? How do you maintain good grades while studying two degrees?
How do you go about being able to afford a nicer apartment on student allowance? I'm starting to look at prices for when I move to Auckland in July. I'll be working full time to start and then I'll be switching to being a student for 2022. I'm worried about if I can afford something over $400 per week on a student allowance, even if splitting the costs with another person ($200 each).
its insane yall have less cases but on complete lockdown while the us over here thousands dying and everyone going out and everything open back up except concerts and movie theaters
i guess thats how we are able to prevent the rise of covid cases cause our government is quick to act ! we are in level 2 lock down now and heaps of people still wear their masks and thats crazyyy!! stay safe!! the amount cases in the us is crazyyy
YIKES $4.15 per 1000L is insane. Watercare rate is $1.59 per 1000L. There are watercare price differences with apartments VS normal residential homes but yikes your building is REACHING :/
omg I know right !!! I thought we were with water care but our water bill is soo expensive! But keep in mind our whole apartment is w this private water company whereas watercare is a public company so it is expected to be a bit more expensive 😭
Hi Wincy, I love your videos since I’m hoping to study at UoA in the future 🤗 Please be careful with sharing any areas close to your apartment location - you never know who’s watching 😩
Lauren - UnalomeWellnessCo Awww thank you for looking out lauren yes I should probably be a bit better about that and yay i hope u can come to UoA !! ❤️
hey girl! do you have any advice for international students (from the US specifically) who want to go to UoA? like maybe about budgeting or just integrating to NZ in general? or do you know any channels from international students in NZ?
I'm not very qualified to answer these questions, but from my experience of buying things from the US, what cost me 50 dollars might only cost you 30 dollars because of the conversion rate XD People in NZ are super friendly and helpful!
Very Good Video 👍. I am doubt in choosing course I have applied for masters of Science specialised in Food Science(240 points , 2 year )at University of Auckland but after assessing my application they gave me a PG Diploma in Food Science (120 points, 1 year) and after that M.Sc Food Science (120 points, 1 year) instead of M.Sc 240 points, 2 year which i desired for, so i am confused that whether i choose that PG diploma way of entry or not ?, How much there is difference in respect of Degree, job, future aspects ? Please help me you are my only hope 🙏.
i dont know much about Masters for food science as im an undergrad Law and Commerce student - maybe you can take this up with the food sci department? sorry i cant be much help but all the best for your future endeavours !
@@Teyasummerx Okay I'll definitely reach them, will they tell me the difference ( in respect of future effects on jobs and all ) between PG diploma and Full Masters ?

i don’t know any int student channels in Nz but maybe you could search it up! In terms of budgeting it’s really just about spending your money wisely. Since UoA is in the city and you’d probably live in the city - I would say to not spend so much of your money on food and stuff you don’t need cause trust me it can be really tempting too, especially since a lot of students go out to eat! in terms of integrating in nz, i would say most people in nz are friendly. you could perhaps try to become friends w a domestic student so that they can sorta show you the kiwi life and also more about budgeting! i hope that helped :)) feel free to dm me on my ig @wincyxia if you need any more help / advice

Why not living in the campus accomodation? Eventhough it is pretty expensive, but we do not need to pay more for electricity etc, right?
What is the average apartment price near AUT North Campus?

In the tour she specifies she doesn't pay all herself, her parents help. Auckland is really expensive

Heyy Wincy really helpful content...one question what if we want to work part time while studying whats the average pay/salary?
thanks siddak and minimum wage in NZ is currently $18.90 but the pay will vary between jobs
Do you need rental history or credit card to rent an apartment in Auckland?
