This arrangement is gorgeous. Rooting for Sofia in American Idol, she's really good.

Had the opportunity to hear these guys live a couple weeks ago. Straight fire🔥
Sophia is LITERALLY amazing i'm so glad i got the chance to go to school with her for middle school and one year of high school! I was inspired literally every day lol
I am so glad I get the opportunity to have an experience with Logan she is so pretty and nice and your concert was amazing
There is a special quality to Sophia’s voice. Hope to hear much more from her in the future. Surely the downvote was an accident.
Such a strong powerful voice, Sophia! 100% moved me! Wondering if you guys are open to singing at my wedding?
0:40 those runs

A W E S O M E The best kept secret in the Midwest!!!!!!!🎆
She will win in the american idollllll!!!!
This is a fucking masterpiece
Is there a way to download this on iTunes?
Her eyes and words are so icy
Oh but she burns
Like rum on the fire
Hot and fast and angry as she can be
I walk my days on a wire.
It looks ugly, but it's clean,
Oh momma, don't fuss over me.
The way she tells me I'm hers and she is mine
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.
Calls of guilty thrown at me
All while she stains
The sheets of some other
Thrown at me so powerfully
Just like she throws with the arm of her brother.
But I want it
It's a crime
That she's not around most of the time.
The way she shows me I'm hers and she is mine
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
Blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.
Her fight and fury is fiery
Oh but she loves
Like sleep to the freezing
Sweet and right and merciful
I'm all but washed
In the tide of her breathing.
And it's worth it, it's divine
I have this some of the time.
The way she shows me I'm hers and she is mine
Open hand or closed fist would be fine
The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.
I predict she'll win American Idol.
💜💜💜💜
This is amazing!!!!!! Also is it just me or this is actually Dwight's house?
Who’s here from American idol?
Don't know the song but great singing...!
This is an extremely positive version of a song about domestic abuse
exactly. the soloist did a very nice job, but the plaintive magic of the original is lost. and fine, everyone is allowed their own interpretation but like you said, the song is pretty clear on what it’s about

Nope. I saw the video before it even came out
It's a skillful performance but such a shame the whole acapella choir was wasted on Hozier's most simple single voice song. And that's the beauty of Cherry Wine, that it's just one voice so you're focused on the words and the complex feelings expressed. If you are looking to highlight your technical prowess I believe you'd do well to check out "Run" that has complex vocal harmonies: ruclips.net/video/n2RtebLh0ug/видео.html Instead of belting to Cherry Wine. So much of Hozier's music has such beautiful and complex vocal harmonies, remixing Cherry Wine is kinda like gilding the lily 😬
If I may, sometimes it may be better to sing something with more emotion rather than have a complex arrangement. A Cappella may sound cool with complex stuff, but that's not all it is about.
@@limaustin1714 That's exactly my point here. But if they were trying to score technical points, then Cherry Wine is not the song to do it to. I doubt if Cherry Wine could be sung simply like it should with an acapella group through. Maybe an acapella solo. I can't imagine having the guitar part be replaced by background singers since it's mostly fingerstyle plucking.
There’s a reason someone else performing an artist’s song as their own interpretation is called a “cover.” To say that you shouldn’t or can’t perform a song in another style than that of the original artist misses the point of making covers. You’re free to say that you preferred the original or that this one didn’t convey the same meaning to you, but what you’re saying is a little over the top. They performed their own interpretation of it, and I thought it was very powerful. Hozier’s was also powerful, but for a different reason.
@@andrewshulman4139 You see it loses the meaning of the song without any indication as to how they interpreted the song in the first place. That's my criticism of the cover. It didn't provide a new aspect or a new insight. To me I just hear curly vocals because the vocalist can do the runs. But I can't fathom what the complicated runs has to do with the meaning of the song, the vibe of the whole thing, or their interpretation of it. And the background choir parts were just there so they have something to do and they could call it choir performance. A good cover in my opinion has to respect the intent of the original or provide a new interpretation of the original work. How did you find the cover? Did their version make you change your perspective of the original? What did you like about it?
Chrizelda Bernil Like i said, you’re entitled to your opinion. But you can’t tell them that they shouldn’t or can’t do certain songs. I thought the powerful vocals gave a different feel to the song that resonated a lot with me. I love Hozier and I think this song means a lot when he sings it alone with his guitar with basically no embellishments. But this is different. And different is fine. It doesn’t have to capture all or any of what Hozier intended for it to still be a good performance. Not to mention, these are literally kids. They made this at the ages of 18 and under. That’s genuinely incredible. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece of emotion and deepness. It’s just good music in its own right.
