I’m 24 and I’ve been a Fort Wayne resident my entire life. The ONLY thing I hate about Fort Wayne is the winter season. I’ve never had any issues with other Fort Wayne residents (of course since we have 200,000+ people there’s gonna be bad ones, but it’s wayyyy better then other cities). I’m moving where it’s warmer during the winter months but I definitely will miss it here. Edit: Speedway gas stations are 24/7, I’ve been to them at 2am
Also, Fort Wayne has improved a lot since 2011. Brand new hospital, brand new park, the former GE plant Electric Works project, overall alot of new places being built and the city is overall alot better then it was back in 2011. I’m sure there’s a lot of places I’m missing
Thank you for your insight, I haven't thought about a lot of these points since coming here. I think Sweetwater is rapidly changing the music scene in FW. Loved your sense of humor

@@LivingInFortWayne I was quite surprised by the negative reactions because I totally understood your intention! I really enjoyed the video :) have a great day!
Fort Wayne seems like the kind of place where you’re use to things in life just being ok or good enough to not complain about lol. Or maybe there are complaints but not enough to cause a scene (passive aggressive Karen for example). The size of the city seems great and continues to grow. Which is why I’m really surprised that an investment hasn’t been made to enrich the food, shopping and entertainment scene. I’m sure the venue along the river is nice but the downtown area in general looks like a huge opportunity. It could be what Chicago’s West Loop/Fulton River District is today. Or create an identity and build upon it as a theme for the downtown area. While it’s literally in the middle of nowhere, FW should really pride itself by being a great destination to the next great destination.
We are surprised too! “See a need, fill a need” right? There are so many things investors and businesses can bring here and watch that business grow rapidly. The new Bradley hotel, for example, is one of the few “ High end” service/brand/products. Reminds of “The Graduate” in Nashville www.graduatehotels.com/nashville/

Indiana music was John Mellencamp some Christian artists, but mostly just rock riffs from the Chicago and Detroit sound. I thought the best part of Fort Wayne was the Tincaps stadium.
Oh wow, John Mellencamp! I didn't know that. Janie Fricke is a country singer, while at IU she was apart of the "Singing Hoosiers". I found that out recently too.
😳I was wondering what that was! My second editor made that intro clip. It’s about time to retire that intro clip, it’s too long anyway. Thanks for pointing that out.
Musician and successful businessman Chuck Surack! That’s actually a good point. He’s started one of the most successful businesses in Fort Wayne’s history. “Sweetwater Sound” Love that place. I buy all my equipment from there!
TY for this info, I'm considering moving but I MUST have deliveries such as Walmart grocery, Instacart, UberEats, etc LOL I'm seriously just lazy and love the convenience. Does Fort Wayne offer most of the normal delivery services?
I misspoke. Essentially, the sunsets really late in the summer. If I’m going to bed “early” it is something to consider. But that’s why they make curtains
Pros...My God we have a lot of Gun Shops within a few miles of each other. LOL Cons...Why can't we have a White Castles in Ft Wayne..Sucks we have to drive almost a 100 miles to get some..No frozen from the stores is not the same thing.
I’m basically saying that the “Cons” are trivial, grass, BMV, etc. irrelevant things. There aren’t any real “Cons” ruclips.net/video/Ez8Lkw_Iy4A/видео.html
That's true. I'm just curious as to what genre or sub-genre have the heaviest influences here? Like, Tejano (SouthWest America), Bluegrass (Kentucky), Texas Country (obvi), etc. Even something more broad like Punk Rock, w/ heavy influences in California...that whole vibe started in the 70s lead to "No Doubt" in the 90s---> "Gwen Stefani"
To be clear, this video was done in a light hearted manner. Fort Wayne is slower paced, which is great for families and people that are transitioning careers. For example, Sweetwater sound, Vera Bradley, and Parkview regional offer great pay to bring good employees here
This is so funny, I'm from Indiana living in Texas and I don't like what they call it here..."Texas department of public safety" 😅 wth...what does that have to do with my license plates lol!
I agree with the time zone and not necessary any more and I want it to stop. It was ww2 issue and now it means nothing. Yes the grass grows fast here. I agree with all your dislikes and I grew up here and things are same not changing except bigger potholes, corn fields and churches everywhere
Coming from TN I don’t really consider TX having a huge music scene either…. There’s nothing like downtown or Nashville or Beale Street in Memphis… and living out west the fashion is regular just a bunch of chucks and vans being worn… you rarely catch ppl in designer out here and when you do they stand out… so again this “big city” mess is overrated in my opinion
All good points. Especially Nashville, my father moved there from Memphis. Nashville is one of our favorite cities. Not too big like Houston or Chicago, there are tons of things to do and can live in the outskirts away from city where it’s quite, great schools and colleges. Love Nashville! Fort Wayne has that kind of potential
Memphis is where I resided. Tbh I think smaller cities like Fort Wayne are the way they are by design. It comes off as a family oriented city and that’s thee attraction. It’s not a city that advertises to the youth. It’s a place where big city people move to so they can finally breath and relax here in Phoenix traffic is ridiculous and everyone’s entitled and snobby ESPECIALLY in Scottsdale! lol Nashville is becoming overcrowded because of Californians moving there, all the once was lowkey outskirt areas (Murfreesboro, Mt Juliet) have exposure now and are overpriced compared to what it use to be. Memphis……. That’s a whole other story the crime there is outrageous!
It’s uncommon in FW but, FEMA publishes flood maps and you can look up the area where your property is located. If you are near a stream (ex. The Saint Mary’s River)you will see an "outline" around that stream that maps the flood zones. Here is a link to the FEMA map site. You can enter an address and see the map and any amendments. msc.fema.gov/portal
Ummm...apparently you moved here AFTER COVID. Walmart, Kroger and Meijer were all 24 hours before COVID. Us poor lowly Hoosiers miss our 24 hour shopping.
I’ve devoted an entire channel to helping people move to a place that I think is a great place to live. Hence, the mundane critiques. But I appreciate the comment
I’m scoping out every comment that mentions restaurants, you also need to try Tacos Arandas El Amish. They have mostly just tacos but definitely very authentic compared to most of the so-so places around the city
Upon further research, we’ve been in COVID protocol for so long, there were some more 24/7 retail stores but we’re kind of still operating like peak COVID. Some of the Walgreens, for example, were 24/7

It’s been good to us too. That’s why we live here and we’ll bring some of our tastes here b/c ppl here are interested in variety…well at least all the people we’ve met from here and other places like Marion, Kokomo, and Auburn
@@LivingInFortWayne ft Wayne is bigger than all 3 of those places combined
@@LivingInFortWayne yet you dont crap on those places
@@NickBurns-ey6od I made an entire channel devoted to helping people move here. (Look at other videos)I think these jokes may have obscured that
The Walmart on Coldwater is open 24 hours isn’t it? I used to live in Coldwater Crossing Apts and I would go to Walmart in the middle of the night.
There is some confusion about this, pre-COVID that Walmart may have been…COVID changed some of the hours of operation
@@LivingInFortWayne Oh, that makes sense. Thank you. I miss Ft Wayne so much. I used to operate the carousel at Glenbrook and I worked at Eats Diner. The best gyro 🥙 in Ft Wayne! Thank you for all of your videos! They keep me close to Ft Wayne!
Yeah, John Mellencamp lives in Bloomington to this day
Love your authenticity
I’m REAL…get it 😂
@@LivingInFortWayne ayyyeee!! 💪🏾💪🏾
So if it's about Fort Wayne, then why does your intro have the circle in Indianapolis in it?
😳I was wondering what that was! My second editor made that intro clip. It’s about time to retire that intro clip, it’s too long anyway. Thanks for pointing that out.
If you haven't seen music in fort wayne, I'd check out sweetwater sound.
Musician and successful businessman Chuck Surack! That’s actually a good point. He’s started one of the most successful businesses in Fort Wayne’s history. “Sweetwater Sound” Love that place. I buy all my equipment from there!
Yeah the 24/7 thing is correct like only cvs is open and you need to say there is nothing to do here
TY for this info, I'm considering moving but I MUST have deliveries such as Walmart grocery, Instacart, UberEats, etc LOL I'm seriously just lazy and love the convenience. Does Fort Wayne offer most of the normal delivery services?
Fort Wayne does have all the delivery services, Uber, UberEats, DoorDash, all of them. As far north as Gump road and as far south as past the airport
@@LivingInFortWayne thank you! I will be moving from SC. I appreciate all your videos
@@pareneesc nice, I grew up in SC, Richland county 😁
@@LivingInFortWayne oh so you know all about these crazy hot humid summers! 🥵 I need some snow in my life
you're hilarious! (its also funny 'cause it's true...)
You have to be inside at 9:00pm?
I misspoke. Essentially, the sunsets really late in the summer. If I’m going to bed “early” it is something to consider. But that’s why they make curtains
Pros...My God we have a lot of Gun Shops within a few miles of each other. LOL
Cons...Why can't we have a White Castles in Ft Wayne..Sucks we have to drive almost a 100 miles to get some..No frozen from the stores is not the same thing.
😂😂😂We stop at White Castle every time we travel
So why do you still live in Fort Wayne?
I’m basically saying that the “Cons” are trivial, grass, BMV, etc. irrelevant things. There aren’t any real “Cons”

I might be coming from Austin Tx, I would love to visit. #sweetwater
Sweet water sound might be the best facility in Fort Wayne.
As long as there is Peace & quiet
I agree that we need to be on central time zone. Been saying that for years
No musical identity??? Bro the Jackson 5??? Do your homework 📚
There from gary my guy not fort wayne
I’ve been thinking of moving there
To be clear, this video was done in a light hearted manner. Fort Wayne is slower paced, which is great for families and people that are transitioning careers. For example, Sweetwater sound, Vera Bradley, and Parkview regional offer great pay to bring good employees here
Sounds like my kind of place!
If you ever visit, try Coney Island, it is a FW classic
alot of fort wayne people don't care that much about brands and care more from the family most of your complaints sound like upper class problems
It’s not minor, I wouldn’t consider it a problem. Just something to be aware of
This is so funny, I'm from Indiana living in Texas and I don't like what they call it here..."Texas department of public safety" 😅 wth...what does that have to do with my license plates lol!
🤣🤣🤣listen, front and back plates, with the license plate lights…lol
I agree with the time zone and not necessary any more and I want it to stop. It was ww2 issue and now it means nothing. Yes the grass grows fast here. I agree with all your dislikes and I grew up here and things are same not changing except bigger potholes, corn fields and churches everywhere
Fort Wayne sounds good
Michael Jackson was from Gary Indiana
Is Fort Wayne a major flood zone?
It’s uncommon in FW but, FEMA publishes flood maps and you can look up the area where your property is located. If you are near a stream (ex. The Saint Mary’s River)you will see an "outline" around that stream that maps the flood zones.
Here is a link to the FEMA map site. You can enter an address and see the map and any amendments.

No
Ummm...apparently you moved here AFTER COVID.
24 hour cvs on state street
Famous Taco & Mi Tierra = great Mexican food ! (Not Cebollas 🤣😉) . P.S. if you’re looking to live in Fort Wayne you’ll be greeted by the potholes
We ate at Dos Margaritas last week. It’s officially #2 in our book www.dosmargaritasgrill.com/
I’m scoping out every comment that mentions restaurants, you also need to try Tacos Arandas El Amish. They have mostly just tacos but definitely very authentic compared to most of the so-so places around the city
so where are the pros?
In our other video
I was born and raised here with alot of entertainment and music people aren't original.we have alot of cover bands.
Indiana is the best place in 🇺🇸 to buy rental homes
In my opinion one of the best things about Fort Wayne is Coney Island. If you haven't tried it I would highly recommend
Mister Coney on Coldwater road behind Ihop is way better.. East State Coney Is as well
The 24/7 thing is weird. Everything else is fine. ❤
Upon further research, we’ve been in COVID protocol for so long, there were some more 24/7 retail stores but we’re kind of still operating like peak COVID. Some of the Walgreens, for example, were 24/7
I wanna say some Walgreens or CVS are open 24/7.
There aren't any pros lol
There are 😆Our very 1st video was pros and cons, I will do another vid of just pros..keep it balanced 😁
Oh and CVS is open 24 hours
Which one? The one nearest me off,Lima, not 24hrs.
Fort wayne is not the best since old days but I am kind of tired of fort wayne I want live at Indy
What would make FW better or what has changed from the old days until now that “you’re not a fan of?” If you don’t mind me asking?
Some places did close when I was a kid I like fort wayne but I do want live at Indy are both the same though sir
@@peterandrews1335 ok, yeah I’ve heard that before. Just checking. We’re sort of history buffs so I like finding out new things about places. Thanks for the feedback
What about you what other things did you not like about fort wayne I like it alright now but had some cool places in past as a kid I went to but I like it alright
@@peterandrews1335 we’re big Foodies and we still like to have “adult fun” but responsible like home by 9pm. I compare everything to Texas and they have places like Green light social greenlightsocial.com/gls-austin/ Kung Fu Saloon, lostinaustin.org/listing/kung-fu-saloon/ Voodoo doughnuts www.voodoodoughnut.com/ Hopdoddy www.hopdoddy.com/ Torchy’s Taco torchystacos.com/locations/ Franki is from Lubbock and they have stuff like LBK Brewery www.thebrewerylbk.com/ and I think FW has that kind of potential. It’s about the same size as Lubbock TX. One day we’re going to open something like those here…God willing
Your funny
I feel bad because I did this to be funny and now I’m having second thoughts 😆
If you want all of those things Fort Wayne lacks, then move to NYC!
I live in NYC and we have all of those things and it's a dump!!!!
1. Everything is overpriced
2. The haves are gentrifying and pushing out the have nits.
3. Because we so much DIVERSITY, there's even more racism and isolation once these groups form their own communities.
4. Hate to break it to but I rather listen to Steve Perry than Cardi B, who I have to listen to 24/7.
5. As far as wishing you had 24 hour stores. We have that as well and because of this crime has gone through the roof!!
Fort Wayne Indiana sounds like a wonderful place. I hope they continue to keep it that way!
P. S. If you want ghetto and hood, then move on up to NYC, the bronx has all of those things you can't find in FW Indiana.
I think you missed the point of the video ruclips.net/video/4mO5dgOZwIk/видео.html
Ok… so in the intro you showed The circle in Indy. 🫣 I’m skeptical on everything you say. Have you really lived here? Where do you think you were moving to? Northern Indiana is not Texas. I think all your complaints are because you came from a bigger town to maybe a smaller. And your last complaints. Welcome to a small town.
Mistakes were made in this video, I have since changed😆…all the complaints were small and trivial…it was meant to be funny. I failed miserably 😔
