I'm moving to ft Wayne from Chicago in July. My mom's family is from there and I never wanted to move there but after living in Chicago for almost 6 years and growing up in Houston, I'm excited about living somewhere that I can actually afford to have a social life, spend less than 45 minutes commute in traffic, find a social group of friends that aren't flaky, and still be close to Chicago if I want to splurge (but not have to live there because there are so many negatives). And I'll have family support
Great video! My husband and I are moving us and our kids to Indiana next year and you definitely have me convinced to move to Fort Wayne. We've narrowed it down to a few places but I'll now be adding Fort Wayne to the list, Thanks! :)
I live in the Waynedale area (SW) and here is a list of the places I can (and do) walk to: supermarket, hardware store, various fastfood, dry cleaners, bank, barber, pharmacist, doctor, dentist, optomitrist, post office, American legion, and Church.
This video was awesome and helpful. Moving there mid may, good to know the job market is great 😅 been searching for jobs from here (California) hoping I can get something going so when I get there
Well it’s never bothered me but I don’t have allergies. My son does, and in the spring he does take Benadryl sometimes to help with it. It’s usually only for a month or so.
Warsaw is 60 miles northwest of Fort Wayne, Chain of lakes is 30-35 miles straight north of Fort Wayne! Please be truthful to people when you do an assessment of this city.
Hey thanks for the clarification. Do you remember the minute and second timestamp where Caleb said the wrong thing? I just want to make sure we’re correct on the info we’re presenting?
It was when he was speaking about the out door life and saying about where Warsaw at 3:10 and about Chain of Lakes State Parks it makes it sound like Warsaw is a suburb of Fort Wayne.
@@mikemahoney9627Thank you! Not on purpose! We always strive to be 100% accurate. I guess because I drove to Warsaw every week for years for my son’s baseball that for me it feels like it’s just outside of Fort Wayne, it is only an hour.
Indian village is a great historic area. Homes built between 1925-1950s. Mature neighborhood. What really stands out is the community there. More engagement from the neighbors.
Lived there 18 years. Pretty affordable. Pretty nice people. Nasty weather. (Really hot summers for how north they are and really, nasty cold, wet/slushy and gray from Nov. thru May. Had a real problem with gangs and violent crime.
@@LivingInFortWayne I know the Indy Impalas are in the championship. Do you have a video about the adult/youth sports in the area? I'm coming from Denver but might do Indy

What did you mean that you'll be back to Florida? To move or visit?
what are your thoughts on the Indian village neighborhood? I am thinking about buying a house there..

Floods from the rivers . Tornados.
Every area has some sort of risk of natural disaster. Insurance.
No tornados, most people don't live directly by a river
