Metallica playing Enter Sandman from the self titled album (also known as The Black Album) on the Monsters of Rock concert in Moscow in 1991.
For Those About To Rock is the name of a video containing live performances by AC/DC, Metallica, The Black Crowes, Pantera and E.S.T. in the Tushino Airfield in Moscow, during the implosion of the Soviet Union.
In September 1991, only a few days after the August Putsch failed, 1.6 million rock music fans converged in Moscow to enjoy the very first open-air rock concert, part of the Monsters of Rock series. For Those About To Rock...We Salute You: Monsters in Moscow also offers a look at the efforts of the Russian Army to try to postpone the concert (not on the original VHS release).

I was born the same year as this concert, I've gotta say...music in mainstream media is GARBAGE! My partner says all she hears is noise and screaming when she hears rock music (like most people my age) yet they listen to music where the message is all the same...being rich, having parties, taking drugs and having sex all masked behind a "dope beat". Fuck that shit...THIS IS REAL MUSIC!!!

I'm 25 and listen to "this" because it beats the shit out of 99.9% of the crap that is released today.
Alot of it is shit now... just repeat watered down shit. I came from Metallica and early death metal, and into numetal... I find it extremely difficult to find new music that moves me anymore.
Notable modern acts are Sumerian records bands, Periphery, etc... but still... That energy that came with the mystique and presents of a rock band is gone now.

It's not the matter of music age or whatever usually we "people" who listens to this does not give a fuck about what's hip we listen to what we want to listen to. Besides the usual MUSIC of today is about what? sex, drugs, and Alchohol with stupid lyrics that a lot of us "who listens to this" finds stupid. You enjoy your music we will enjoy ours do not waste time trolling on the net it won't make you cool. Music is not competition and taste is subjective.

Yep... When NO western acts could. Once in a lifetime thing. The concert was part of a compromise to students... Youll have to fact check that, but it was a free show put on by the government of soviet Russia. Amazing
