- 'Crystal Ann' taken from "Triple Threat" by the Legendary Canadian thrash/heavy metal masters Annihilator!
Annihilator proudly present Triple Threat, which includes Annihilator’s classics performed acoustically, with band leader/guitarist/ songwriter and vocalist Jeff Waters bringing together band members Aaron Homma and Richard Hinks, Vancouver BC drummer and friend Marc LeFrance plus Ottawa session player Pat Robillard. Recorded and mixed by Waters (with Marty Sobb), this quintet recorded everything live, off the floor and in single takes at Watersound Studios in Dunrobin, Canada during late May and early June, 2016.
The release also features Annihilator’s vicious set from the 2016 Bang Your Head Festival, a set which illustrates the very best of what Annihilator is known for -tight, sharp, technically-excellent and melodic thrash metal music. "Triple Threat" includes some exclusive inside-Annihilator off-stage perspective, courtesy of Jeff Waters’ own camera, which captures further elements, flavours and detail of the band which fans will flip over.

You know when a song is well written. When it sounds fresh every time you hear it.
Jeff Waters is such an underrated talent.
Well, I thought even long ago that his riffs were the best, among him, Hetfield and Mustaine. I haven't found anyone better,
For a while I thought municipal waste had good riffs but then i went through their stuff and found like only 1 or 2 songs with those good riffs...
But for Jeff he hardly has even one lazily made song. That's some job, to have pulled off the projects mostly alone. Alone at least on earth :D
Hell yeah he is!!! 👍One of my all time heroes! 👏🤘
he's a Gawdamn LEGEND \m/
@@iborntobedrunk1077 that's crazy, Mustaine is very talented, he was just in a harder situation I think but whenever he took the time to write riffs like in rust in peace he wrote really great riffs. His situation was more like when you write the coolest riffs and you're kicked out, betrayed by lies etc as he says on many of his lyrics eg addicted to chaos.. maybe you don't feel like focusing a lot on intricate riffs and would rather focus on trying to stay alive, leading droog CT front etc. I identify with that because I too had to decide in my early 20s to leave the metal band idea completely and devote myself to the duty at hand using other modern or more effective tools than eg 🎶 touring etc.
@@iborntobedrunk1077 I don't think so. Listen to addicted to chaos, it's really good. He is self taught.
Man, If only this band had their career a bit earlier, would definately be as big as the BIG 4...
The issue with Annihilator is mostly inconsistency. They never had a proper enduring line-up, Jeff writes all the instruments - but definitely isn't a drummer, some albums are passable at best, they almost completely changed genres from one to the next, so they didn't form a solid fanbase in the beginning. _Alice in Hell_ is a FUCKING MASTERPIECE, but you're right, it was released way too late, and _Never, Neverland_ though good doesn't live up to it. And basically all musicians changed.
Imagine if _Master of Puppets_ was Metallica's debut, and was immediately followed up with a Black-Album-esque release with no one but James on guitar and a random guy on vocals. That's what happened here.
Oh, and one more thing: while _One, A Tout le Monde,_ and _Cemetery Gates_ are all fan favourites, _Phoenix Rising_ is cheesy, _Sounds Good to Me_ sounds bad to everyone else, and _Only Be Lonely_ provokes vomit it listened for more than 10 seconds.
For me they ARE part of the Big 4. Who are those "Anthrax"? :P
OK - i like a few songs from Anthrax - in fact it's about 8 to 10 songs, but from Jeff and his boys i like 169...
From the other three i like much less - Megadeth 148, Metallica 126, and from Slayer even just 54 - but at least most of my shirts are Slayer. ;)
@@DeadpoolTesla You counted the songs you like?! And you don't like Anthrax?!? Check your meds, man.
@@gab.lab.martins Never, Neverland is better than anything Megadeth has ever released. What's the biggest of the Big 4, Metallica? Be it Metallica or Slayer, ALL of their albums bar the first 3-4 are passable (to say the least). Big 4 is basically a commercial brand, only exists to make money, isn't based on anything but hype from the 80s and is overall a joke. No actual metal fan gives a shit about things like Big 4 or Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame
Also, good job comparing Pantera's best song by far to Annihilator's outtake Only Be Lonely. That's like me comparing Fun Palace to some rubbish like PST88 or Good Friends And a Bottle Of Pills, or Crystal Ann to anything from Load/Reload. Logic and objectivity are obviously not your strong suits.
I love the cute puppy sleeping through the whole, tranquil.
Well done guys, alway a pleasure to listen to that peice of beautiful 👍🇨🇦
That feeling when their timing playing the whole piece live is much more precise then yours recording something bar by bar then glueing it)
no nos exhibas !!! hahah
That peice to this day is still awesome. 💀🤘🏻
you make that guitar playing look so easy while I know it took decades to be able to play that well. such an accomplishment to have such a skill and talent like that. thanks for sharing this with us.
this piece still gives me chill along the spine after all those years and years of listening
This is just beautiful 🖤 i love Crystal Ann and Annihilator💖🖤💖🖤
2 dislikes? Must not be a music fan. I don't care what your favorite type of music is. If it's as awesomely played as this was. I don't know! Must be a troll. .lol
Jeff Waters rules!
Yeah baby

Such, such a beautiful piece
I love this song!
It’s always a little masterpiece 😊🖤
love this breathe taking composition 💫✨
Best metal song ever, brings tears to mu eyes
Te amo, annihilator, te amo
They took me back to the nineties! What a great album is Alice in hell! One of the best debut album 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I remember hearing this song the first time round, way back in the last century. Annihilator and Waters were very original & different at the time, and were much appreciated, and respected here in the UK and globally. But, agreed their timing was too late. Had 'Alice' been released in 1985, and not 1989 we might well be writing & reading different comments. Such is life ..
This is what you listen to when you jump out of an airplane at about 23,000 feet without a parachute and have 2 minutes to kill. It will make dying more pleasant.
fantastic
very nice such a good song
💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Щикарно
Such an amazing performance
Ich hatte vor ganz langer Zeit das Glück den Song live auf einem kleinen Konzert in Speyer, Deutschland erleben zu dürfen. Einfach nur großartig.

the first song I heard. I loved the band since then.
Amooooo❤
Liked with a thumbs up b4 even listening 👍🏼
I've seen Annihilator playing live at KoKo in London, amazing show
Gorgeous. First heard this track in 1989, and my assessment was the same. It stood on its own merit (obviously), but worked perfectly as the lead-in to "Alison Hell." Thanks for posting!
🙌
I love all that songs good luck God bless from amorcadz vlog
rad
He wrote that when he was 18?!?! Wow 😲

Класс ) норм)!!!
Hello, come and see for yourself
Por favor el baterista
Sounds good, but needs to be sped up a bit
It’s so much better with acoustic and no drums, the other videos I’ve seen on an electric guitar and some packing drums don’t compare
I'ts my favorite composition of Annihilator. But on album records in 1987 it sounded better and with other temp.
Det lyder jo smukt
Nope
I don't know guys... You are great don't misunderstand me but two Spanish nylon guitar and one guitar with metal strings sounds awful, the guitar in the middle erase the other two on its sides.
got it blasting through my stereo sounds amazing must be your phone the mix is totaly fine nothing is burried
@@kelimthomas-heath5257 Probably you're right. I'll Check It in other audio system. Thanks!
