The Vaaka Cardigan is beautiful and the Leuto cropped top is lovely. The Sweater for Sofia is looking great in the colour chosen. The Seela sweater is beautiful in it's simplicity. Heippa
Glad you, your Mum and Sophia could have a ladies day . . . . very special. And the little love note is precious. Great school start outfit. Another great episode. You're the best! 😘
Sophia’s Love Note is gorgeous, Jana, as is your mums cardi. I think I will have to put that pattern in my ever growing wish list…..I just need to knit as fast as you do! Hope your mum has a safe journey home, hope your feeling better and best wishes to you all❤
It is always good to see you have posted Jana. I took some time to sit outdoors knit and watch your podcast. I am working on. The sweater by Skeindeer the festive yolk cardigan. I am using Rauma Finull Garn. White with one motif in red the next motif in green and the little star or snowflake section between motif is golden color. This was inspired by your Christmas pullover! Loved it so much! I then was motivated by hurricane Ian last fall… our winter getaway in Florida was destroyed. I left my favorite Xmas sweater. It was a vintage red sweater with white pearls on it. When we went back to salvage after the water receded things in drawers were moldy nasty ruined after nearly 4 foot of water inside… No words I’m moving on. I have a home, I am safe, I am grateful and I will have this fun project. Ravelry I am Tsknitter if you are curious I will post photo today.
The Love Note for your little girl is such a beautiful colour!!! No wonder she is so keen for you to get it off your needles :-) Thank you for keeping me company while I knitted on a cloud of fluffy black mohair in the summer daylight (making a Souufle sweater by Laura Penrose) xxx
I am so glad to see you Jana and Frannie 🐸 Oh you have almost the vakka all done for your mother and the goegeous lavender 🪻 for the seela is Beautiful. And the sweater for Sophia I ljust love the color so much and it is beautiful 🩷 I have been knitting a test knit top and having a good time but my yarn tangles a lot. Much love 💕
Hi Jana, while watching your podcast I'm knitting a sweater for myself. It's a free pattern from Drops, 235-24. The yarn is Complesso, an aqua color. I found this yarn in a thrift store and it is enough for a sweater. I actually only knit with recycled yarn, and make sweaters and cardigans with beautiful combinations. Thanks for the fun hour, see you next time. Greetings from Lily 🌸 from the Netherlands.
15-16C sounds like heaven - here in utah, it is - wait for it.... 41C (106F), and climbing still today, ugh. thankfully, it is a dry heat, i think 10% humidity today, otherwise, i would surely perish. but i've had to put down all my woolly wools and am knitting socks and dreaming of winter. love your periwinkle boucle - would love to try that. cheers! libby
Hi Jana. Thank you for liking my comment and thank you for the heart. It is Saturday, July 29, 2023, and I am home today relaxing after spending a couple of days with my daughter and three grandchildren yesterday and the day before. It was time seeing them after three weeks of absence from them. It was very nice. I took the blanket I am knitting for Emma to take to the University which she is going to in a couple of weeks. I worked on it in my daughter’s house and got advanced in my work. I have 52” long now and I want to get to 65 to 70” long. I am very close to finishing it; and I think in a few days I will cast it off the needles. I hope you and your kids and husband and mother are well. Take Care. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Your projects and yarn, especially your daughter’s Love Note Sweater, are all gorgeous! My family and I went to Nashville, Tennessee (USA) last week and I finished a crochet dress just in time for my daughter to wear to a concert and now I’m working on a lacy top for her in black yarn (not my favorite but she loves black) so I’m sitting outside with my feet in a kiddie pool and a wet towel on my shoulders to beat the heat (96F). Summer weekends are the perfect excuse to relax and soak up the Vitamin D. I hope your weekend is a good one, filled with joy and love. 💕
Love the colors of your flowers! Working on my third summer top… The Beach Tank with Bamboo Pop. Too hot to knit with wool..we have excessive heat warning here in Virginia 😊
So good to be listening and watching you on a Saturday afternoon. My weekend is now set. Combining 2 speckle yarns is not something that I would have been brave enough to try and it looks great! By the time that my knitting game is up to snuff you may be shipping internationally and I would like to try that DK boucle. Thank you for sharing, Jana. ❤
Thank you for spending your time with me! ❤️ I wouldn't usually combine two speckled yarns, but these just felt like a good match. They blend together nicely, which doesn't happen too often. 😊
As always, i enjoy your knitting inspiration AND your beautiful garden flowers! I have an urge to cast on a winter sweater, but the temp here is nearly 110 degrees F, about 41 C...? My flowers are struggling. Have a wonderful weekend, Jana! 😊
Hi Jana: believe it or not I am still working on my Twist and Turns shawl using Mominoki yarn which I am enjoying it’s got beautiful shine and drape : wool ramie silk. Difficult to find in the States.
Thank you for this episode. Love watching your podcast. No solar dying this summer for me either but next summer maybe. 😊 But I am using the yarn I solar dyed last summer ( inspired by you) for some tapetsry weaving. That is so much joy. ❤ So thank you once again for inspiring me to try solar dying. Hope you feel better soon, some days just is like that. Some knitting always helps anyway, lucky us having this in our lifes. Take care, hugs from Sweden!
I’m knitting The Rialto Ripples Top by Irina Anikeeve. I’m on the second row of lace. It’s a fun knit. I’m learning a lot. My first sweater. I bought a sweater kit for the stripes sweater but I’m going to knit Tolsta Tee by Rebecca Clow. I just finished the collar and then setting up the raglan stitches. I’m using yarn from Yarnadelic in grey and blues. I think it’s a Falkland wool. I love the colors. I’m a blue fan anyway. Love you knitting videos. I need to join your patron.
Thank you for sharing with us! I keep thinking that I need to do solar dyeing and have not started still...too busy knitting and life I guess. My kids start school in just over a week also and I have mixed feelings as usual and I am also tired having them home this summer 😂 I am already juggling multiple WIPs but am thinking of a new cast on to work something small so that I feel good having a finished object (insanity, I know). Some day I plan to travel to Finland to find where my family lived before immigrating to North America in the 1800s (and my distant relatives who now live in southern Finland), and I would love to visit your shop. I hope that you can get your current knits done to where you wanted them and that you feel better.
Oh, I feel you! I also haven't had a chance to do the solar dyeing this year. And I also had a mix feelings about the school starting. When you come to visit Finland, I'd be happy to knit with you! I'm also in Southern Finand, so the trip shouldn't be too bad.
Hello. I really enjoy your podcasts! I have a question regarding the LoveNote and not doing the provisional cast on. How to you figure out how to do the increases after the ribbing to get to your required number of body stitches? Do you have to do them all in the first row? Thank you for your time.
Yes, I just do the increases straight after the ribbing and it has worked out fine. First check the number of stitches for the ribbing and the instructions for the neckband, and then instead of decreases do the increases.
Sophia will be the best dressed child when wearing that gorgeous Love Note sweater! The yarn is perfect for a little girl….💕🩷💕🩷💕
As always I enjoy watching and listening to you. Have a nice weekend.
Thank you! You too!
