I know its only a TV show - and therefore some drama is desired - but thats not a car that should have been sold via a no-reserve auction. Secondly the donor car would have been far more valuable sold as parts. The manual gearbox, clutch, pedal box etc would have made 2k+ so some could have converted another auto car to a more valuable manual.
If they had wanted tetanus then strippping the old one was viable. i am looking for a manual for my V12, but those old Getrag units are so scarce now that the market has moved on and found more modern transmissions. The pedal box, ski ramp etc are still worth having but the transmissions are not as valuable any more. There were other hard to get parts.
I would've use the headlights of the donor Jag, those looked a lot cooler. very classic and classy. Those original headlights were already worn and gave a bad look to that beautiful car. Usually those tiny detalis can really mess up a good sale. The front of a car can really make someone fell for it or just say nooo I better look for a better looking one. pLus I would've change a bit of the inside panels color just make it more interesting. BUt you'll nail it next time Ant !
Agree. Always like the headlights on that parts car better. It went for peanuts because nobody could see past the mileage. If Ant had got up there and showed his face a bit people would have realized, it was mechanically sound as he has a reputation for quality work.
The lozenge headlights are the ones to have. The round headlights were US spec and ruined the lines. i have had a Jaguarsport XJS 6.0 V12 for 20 years and the lozenge are the ones.
The think the V8 was the same used in the Lincoln LS here in the US. They really are beautiful drop top cruiser. Oops, Thought it was the V8. Jumped the gun on that one.
a lot of people who do work and sell things on youtube, get a bit of a following. perhaps don't auction until after your viewers have had a chance to see the video and/or sell privately, again after people have watched your video.
I wouldn't have sold it ss a loss ... I'd have pulled it and kept it for anither go or advertised on-line.... Im no expert on the prices of these things but it looks at least £10,000 worth
Gotta be taking the piss I’d have paid 5 grand for the red jaguar and left that blue mess, the guy should have gave it to him as he’d have never got a cent for that car in the bushes. It would have cost him a grand to get it taken away. I’ve watched the whole series now and he made next to nothing on any cars, oh till the last one 😂 it made a couple a grand so the money just doesn’t add up cause auctions aren’t free you have to pay auction fees etc. so the show is a joke because I know if I was looking for a nice older car and I knew Ant had just fixed one up I’d pay top dollar as you know your not buying a heap the guy can fix up a car ok. So auctions are just pathetic. Also who’s channel is this because you’d think it was Ants and he’d be making money from these views
thanks to the up-loader for giving us these episodes. can't wait for the next episodes. many thanks from cape town
Ant is a good person. I like him when he works with Mike Brewer in USA,definitely will follow him here.
You can put reserves on the cars. Then sell another way. But.... the profits dont come from the sales, they come from the views and the TV.
Love the vid great home for your mum and dad nice job well done
Dads driving a 120k Range rover FFS, there's half the money...
Ant you are back its been a long time since you were last on youtube. I must admit I missed you. Looking forward to many new episodes
Ludde Sweden
This is better than Wheeler dealers (to a point).....
I thought Ant was releasing these.
He should've took his mum for a ride. And put a reserve on the car at auction for sure!

@@julianlord2697.... totally agreed with you
Test drive at Millbrook?
The undercover of that XJS was absolutely disgusting,
Not goog on you not getting a good pice. Keeping on wrenching and building because pay-day has to happen. Thanks for sharing.

Jumped the gun on that one.
Don’t want loss, don’t sell at auction….simple really, and not rocket science. Make for good tv I suppose.
Cmoon man you can't risk like that for putting it on auction. 🤦♂️
Heritage Philips screws incorrect but great job
How to make a small fortune flipping cars through auction, start with a large fortune
Someone is smoking at 15:58
Might be the car ha ha
I wonder if Ma and Pa were really happy about leaving a cosy bungalow to move into a wreck financed by a son who cant make money to save his life .
will there be more episodes?
Thank you for uploading these! But you're definitely getting a copyright strike soon for these😂😂
I fully agree with you, and thats why the rest of the episodes should be uploaded so we can watch them before they are taken down
ANT, TRADUZIR PARA O PORTUGUÊS. TANK YOU.
9000 pounds for old Jaguar junk, come on ant. 2-3000 pounds max.

🤗❤️👍💯
8 grand. What a bargain. 5 years time that will be 3 times that
I wouldn't have sold it ss a loss ... I'd have pulled it and kept it for anither go or advertised on-line.... Im no expert on the prices of these things but it looks at least £10,000 worth
Hard luck ant. You just have to move on buddy
Plus fees 😅
Lost about 3k total
Hard lesson . Sorry mate 😢
Stop going auctions raffle it off
im sure you can sell the reg to lucifer?🤣
Paid too much for a non runner. mike would have struck a better deal and then sold privately.
Who pays 10k for a 5year rotting 169k mileage facelift XJS 4.0???? Ant does. Manual of not that’s a bad deal. I guess things are different in the UK.
Not very comfy if you're in the back with two other people.
who in their right mind would put a brake hose fresh off a car to their lips ??!?!!!
I've done it. Many times. a lot of mechanics have done blowing into break pipes
Cant builder build you a pit? 😂
STOP putting cars in auctions! That red Jaguar would have been a better bet sold privately. Look at the Midget you made money on that.
Classic cars, like their old owners are a dying breed. Inefficient and expensive to maintain. Destined for the scrap heap sooner than later
Your paying much to much 6t for the cars

He should give up, needs a new career...😮
