I had to run for miles between two connecting flights all through the Orly airport. When I finally reached the plane and sat down I turned on my iPod and this song came out. Everything made sense for a while.
Eric Johnson is the best overall guitarist I've heard and saw in '93 at the Paramount Theater and had acknowledged Metheny's 'Letter from home' as something to hear. I'd agree.
Ahh the endless summer of '89....this tune and the album "Letter from Home" together with a beautiful love affair (thank you Julie G :-) and the warm California sun... life could not have gotten any better and I dreamed/hoped, that it would never Slip Away....Pat and Lyle, every day I thank you for accompanying me through my life and especially, for those ever lasting memories....

ive heard this song in a concert and realize it resembles very much a gospel song, to my surprise (the performance of it made this clear as it left nothing but almost the core of the song by means of an almost accoustic version of it)
