Many songs from the group are truly a work of art. This is one is one of them. The harmony and dynamic of the band is simply perfect. From Pat's signature solo and the delicate piano of Lyle Mays to the subtle lead vocal role and xylophone arrangement of my country man Pedro Aznar the melody floats on a rock solid foundation provided by the bass of Steve Rodby, Paul Wertico on drums and Armando Marcal percussion. Letter from Home without a shade of a doubt is one their best albums.
A Whole Generation of Southn Africans differentiates itself from other generations because of knowledge of a version of this song. I am part of theat generation. Thank you

I had to run for miles between two connecting flights all through the Orly airport. When I finally reached the plane and sat down I turned on my iPod and this song came out. Everything made sense for a while.
Eric Johnson is the best overall guitarist I've heard and saw in '93 at the Paramount Theater and had acknowledged Metheny's 'Letter from home' as something to hear. I'd agree.
