    I've owned 3 Ford 4x4s in the Philippines. 2016 Ford Everest. 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor. Now a 2024 Everest. Bigger and more features for less money than the Fortuner. I always test drive the Toyota, and it's always an easy and clear decision.

    You can somewhat improve the brakes of the everest by having wider tires and still being cheaper than the GR-S. I’d pick the everest overall. The interior of the fortuner just looks too old for my liking and being very mahiluhin sa byahe the riding comfort of the everest is just too good for its class. What I also like about the everest is super refined nya. Walang vibrations halos, less noisy and it’s smoother too. I know people will say “after 15 years gumagana pa rin yang fortuner” pero I don’t usually own cars that long.

      May I add, that besides you not holding on to a car that long, most probably in 15 years time, emissions restrictions for cars will become so ridiculously stringent that owning a diesel powered vehicle will become more trouble than its worth because EVs will be what governments around the world will be pushing hard for the public to use.

    Both good SUVs. Mind you the fortuner has been for sale since 2016 and we are anticipating for an all new model soon. Having owned both a Ranger and a Fortuner, I would say FORD for tech and features and TOYOTA for Engine, durability and reliability. My ranger kasi had several problems regarding rust, turbo air leaks and at 79tkms the new owner replaced the turbo. The Toyota still runs strong. But hey this is an all new Everest based on the old T6 platform so perhaps this one will prove to be reliable.

    Well, almost all of us are coming from a Japanese brands. Ako galing Atoyot. When its time to upgrade , I did all my research and test drive. When I finally bought the Everest, previous generation. Sabi ko parang kumuha yata ako ng sakit sa ulo. But sa awa ni Lord with proper maintenance, 7 years na, still good as new. Battery-2x, brakes, tires, turbo hose and PMS every year, good as new pa rin. Comfort and handling wala akong masabi. I driven to manila from my province once, balikan for more than 24 hours. Ikaw lang ang susuko sa antok. Pero di ako napagod na same like my Atoyot before. Kaya malamang sa malamang hirap na ako bumalik sa Atoyot or other brand in general. This is my experience, so Drof is on another level in general. Dapat na talaga maglabas ng bagong modelo ang Atoyot para makahabol. Drive safe po.

      I would agree with this comment. We have a 4x2 LTD and a 2.0 Everest Titanium 4x2. The experience with Ford is on another level talaga. It feels more luxurious and comfortable. Fortuner is also very nice coming as a toyota fanboy noon. The things I don't like with the Fortuner is that it is the most expensive in the mid-size SUV market but it doesn't feel like it - interior is just ok and the drive is not that comfortable. Pag nag long drive ako sa fortuner, sumasakit katawan ko. While sa Everest naman kahit gaano kana katagal nag ddrive, di pa bugbog yung katawan mo. To end, I would use my Toyota for daily driving and the Everest when it comes to outing/long trips with the family, papogi car on occasions, and weekend car.

    In my opinion, when we talk about value for money, it’s not just the srp, tech, etc. that we’re talking about. For me, reliability, durability, parts etc needs to be considered as well as maintenance cost or parts broken is part of our expenses.
    As much as I love everest and ranger raptor, I was forced to sell it due to repair cost and real life fuel consumption as well, just got hit by rack end pinion issues, ball joints etc. and spent a lot to repair and mostly replacement parts, hence the reason I bought an LTD (not GRS). Spent couple of grand to beat tagtag issues and as I’m satisfied at the moment.
    Yes I spent a lot srp + upgrades, but I think this vehicle will last longer and since it has a high resale value and cheaper parts.
    I specifically told the shop that I want a fortuner that rides like ford, so we did. Problem solved. And I’m happy. By the time I have to let go of this ltd, will just bring it back to stock and sell my aftermarket parts separately as stock fortuner still has a high resale value.

    Id like to clarify a test on breaking, no. 1 if we do break test then both cars should have the same break point meaning the should use the tree as a refference to where to step on the breaks as both cars reaches 60 at a different time for everest its over 5sec and fortuner over 4sec. So the difference in how long it will stop will vary greatly if they started shorter distance. Just wanna clarify on this thanks

    • @streakshooter2357
      @streakshooter2357 Год назад

      No, they did the correct brake test, 0-60-0 in the shortest distance possible. I expected the everest to lose that since it would be carrying a significant amount of body weight for such small brakes at that speed. If you use a fixed reference point, one or more of the SUVs might not have reached the correct speed by the time they reach the reference point, and you will have incorrect data. The point of the brake test is to test how short of a distance can you cover braking from 60kph.

    I have to say that Ford Everest, in terms of value for money, beats Toyota Fortuner. It does have more features, the engine produces more horsepower and torque, and does have a modern design.
    Pero yun na nga, after sale services and convenience are very important. Jan lalamang ang Toyota. Mas madami at cheaper ang parts and maintenance, higher resell value, and Toyota, including other Japanese brand vehicles, were already proven to last longer.

Many will also have an opinion even though they've never owned or driven either, only hearing opinions! I've driven and used both Ford, Toyota and others. Because this is Ford and Toyota I'll only mention them. This is only my opinion and my experience. First Toyota. Toyota quality and dependability is really good, that's not a question. My biggest gripe about Toyota is it's ride comfort and handling. The ride is downright stiff and floaty. It feels like their cars are not connected to the road. Now Ford. My biggest issue is the interior quality(cheap plastics) the 10 speed transmision (too many gears - gear hunting and it's dependability) and electronics, mainly the apim module. If you want a car that will last a long time and has high resale value - Toyota. If you want a car that will be more engaging to drive and more comfort, with the proper maintenace (it'll give you years, trouble free) - Ford.
