Battlefield 1 easy way to boost/improve/fix Performance - 2 steps
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 май 2017
- An easy Battlefield 1 performance/FPS fix, after this it will run perfectly at 60 fps. Before doing this I had terrible lag, jerky gameplay and low frames per second now it runs perfectly on 60fps all the time.
simply type:
gametime.maxvariablefps 60
RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 4
in the text file
it took me hours to figure this out myself, hopefully this will make it easy for you.

If you really want to boost performance, use the following settings. I have mastered BF1 individual graphic settings so expect your game to look like ultra and maximize fps and performance if you are reading this. Put post processing and lighting on low(trust me on these) and lower the resolution scaling between 80-95%. The lower resolution scaling you can tolerate the more fps you will get and more vram you will free up, plus less power and usage from your GPU, so less push to the 99-100% your GPU keeps doing! Lowering the resolution scaling does make the game blurry but trust me when I tell you, it helps tremendously for people with 2-4 GB of vram GPU's. I've found that 80-95% is the least noticeable visually. Also be sure to turn OFF motion blur, chromatic abberation, lens distortion, film grain and sniper scope dof. And make sure you are NOT playing in DX12. DX12 Enabled is the setting, set it to OFF. To get even more fps, put texture quality on medium(there is NO difference visually, trust me), mesh quality on high, undergrowth on medium or high(personal preference, same fps), terrain on medium(there is no difference visually between medium, high and ultra, trust me). Texture filtering on high. Effects on medium or high(ultra if you're playing the campaign because this changes the way explosions and fire and gas and smoke looks). So put it on medium for an advantage in multiplayer. All this should help out with performance tremendously. I know another trick for people with just 8GB of ram in their PC too so if you're reading this, hit me up and I'll tell you the trick. It also benefits people with 16GB of ram as well. It helps the most with people that have a slight CPU bottleneck. Like me, I use a 1070 GPU but my CPU is an i5-6402p. And neither is overclocked. And I'm getting 105-120 fps in 1440p in BF1. No stuttering whatsoever either.
I have 8 gigs of ram, tell me the trick.
Robert Vucic Glad to see someone is already interested. Well, I have a few tricks actually. The first couple you may or may not already know about, so I will put them on here first...
Now this is the steps for if you are using Windows 10, if you are using a different Windows, these will work but using the steps may be a little different...
1. Click on the Start menu in the bottom left hand corner of your PC and go into your settings. Then click on Power & Sleep. Then click on Additional Power Settings. Then click on High Performance. Apply the setting if given the option. Close out everything.
2. Right click on your desktop and click on NVidia Control Panel. Then click on Manage 3D Settings. Under Global Settings, look for Power Management Mode. Click on it and then click on Prefer Maximum Performance. Apply the setting(wait about 3-10 seconds after the click). Close out everything.
3. Now for my next trick, which is the one I was referring to above. Bare with me on this one, as the length of this comment might make it seem difficult but trust me, doing this is a breeze.
Google a program called Process Hacker. Download and install it. It's a very trusted program and a VERY beneficial program. It's also a breeze to install and it's a very small file size. Before opening it up, do this, and remember this... Right click in the middle of your Start menu, found at the bottom middle of your desktop. Then click on Task Manager. Then click on the Performance tab. Near the bottom, click on Open Resource Monitor. Close out the Task Manager behind this new Resource Monitor tab. On this Resource Monitor tab, click on Memory. Now, what you are now staring at is very important and you will come back here many times to check what I am informing you. You should see a bar graph. Look for the word Standby. There should be a LOT of Standby memory you are staring at. Now, this is where Process Hacker comes into play. It will basically free up that Standby Memory. Thus, helping performance during games. Don't worry, this isn't hurting your PC in any way. And this Standby memory will go back up again after doing random tasks and playing random games. Now the fun(and very simple) part, while you have the Resource Monitor open, open up Process Hacker. Click on System Information. Then click on More, then Empty, then Empty Standby List. If you want, have that Resource Monitor tab to your right so you can watch all that Standby memory go away. That's it, this process is over. Close out everything. Repeat this process before every game you play.
Now, what you will want to do before playing any game is check that standby memory. If it's not filled all the way up, then that means you don't have to clear it. But when you have just 8GB of RAM, it will more than likely be filled up every time you check if it's full. Now when you have 16GB, it's not always full. Meaning that you have to clear it less often.
I hope these tricks are beneficial to you in other games, especially games that are CPU intensive. I game with an i5 so they're very beneficial to me because my i5 just does bottleneck my 1070. It's so small of a bottleneck that this trick kind of forces the bottleneck to basically not put any type of hinder on my gaming experience. Meaning that my CPU will hit 100% and hold in some games, just not nearly as often because I free up all that RAM. Thus, a smooth gaming experience. I seriously don't run into much issues using all these techniques and tricks mentioned above in this comment. That's why I enjoy sharing them.
Thank you sir i will try all you advised, got AMD R9 370----6gb ram-----i7 3.0 ghz and im tired of 30-45 fps in all servers
CokeMachine It might be time to add more RAM to your PC, 8GB is just the minimum required for BF1, 16GB is recommended for a reason. What type of RAM do you have in your PC and what is the speed? Is it 1 stick of 4GB and 1 stick of 2GB? I can send you a link to an excellent deal on 1 stick of 4GB RAM or 1 stick of 8GB RAM. Just need to know the exact speed and brand. The model number would help the most. I'm also guessing it's DDR3 right? Also, is your R9 370 the 2GB or 4GB GPU?
@@thesamedufus2012 i have gtx 1050 2 gb

Intel 5 7 Gen
But i play bf 1 in 30 fps on low.
Can you help me pls????
Wow. This actually fixed my BF1. After all of this time of playing BF1 and lagging to shit. This is absolutely amazing. I went from playing on almost all Low settings to now Med-High settings at a locked and stable 60fps. I have no words. You are the best! Thank You so much!
Edit: My rig consists of a gtx 970 with an i5 4690k in case anyone is wondering.
so glad it helped man
Finally gave up. Almost bought a major upgrade and then i found this. Even runs smooth at ultra. Thanks.
From unplayable on lowest settings possible to playable on high60 fps no drops.I have no words.Well I got few though.Damn DICE for not giving a fk about their playerbase. They expect us to buy their premium pass and they are not even able to fix their game ?People have to search online for that one video/site that actually helps them?Even after you pay 60$ ?Unacceptable.
I'm very happy it helped. :) I know, I was amazed at how poorly optimised it was, it took me nearly a week to figure this out! for a triple A title its really shocking.
The Kinnock I was like "my machine can run Star Wars Battlefront(EA) on high so it should not have problems with Battlefield 1".I have been supporting DICE since BF 3 and I never had to found fixes for their games(did not play BF4 on launch).I truely hope this will not become a trend for their future games.
i know right, its the first time ive ever seen anything like this to be honest. i was really shocked. i hadnt had any problems running anything either, especially on low.
Get a console
ReDanz i'd rather get a better pc with that money for a better price, thanks
IT WORKS!!! I CAN FINALLY PLAY BF1 IM SO HAPPY THANK YOU SO MUCH OMGOGMOGMGO!!!!
This helped so much. Before I couldn’t get a kill to save my life, no matter how well aimed my shot or if they were directly in front of me. The enemy would just disappear only to reappear off to the side and blast me. Turns out it was just lag, now my K/D ratio has finally evened out.
Thanks man.
a pleasure geezer :)
You helped me 4 years later. Subscribed
I appreciate you put this video up it help me alot,i was looking for 2 days straight to sort this issue and this fixed it,i will pass along the info and your video to those who have also had this problem
that's awesome, glad it helped
absolute Legend, at first I thought it wouldn't work but damn. Thank you very much!
Thank you so so much. My fps went from 30 to 60 because of the user file. I had to lower my settings to low before this vid now 60 with high/ultra! thanks!
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but your voice is like buttery smooth chocolate milk. ❤️ the video my man!

@@sendemibrutus2157 Lol what do you mean? Do you mean gpu usage?
Thank you dude! With my Rig 2500K @ 4.5Ghz - 8GB Ram - GTX1080 I could't play it properly. It was driving me crazy!!! O followed your steps and now the game it's perfect again! Thanks a lot!!!
a pleasure man, glad it worked!
You helped me so so so so much, mate! I can't believe that i can play battlefield 1 without lag now. Thank you so much again!
glad it helped!
I'm glad to say,it worked like a charm
Hey thanks for this video, started playing the game again and i was really annoyed with the fps. Looked at a bunch of videos but this is the only one that really helped me. I also made some other tweaks that I think really helped. I recommend turning off the GPU Memory restriction setting in battlefield 1, and turning on V-Sync to prevent screen tearing. Doing everything in the video and what’s mentioned above took my fps from max of around 50 with stutters to rarely if ever dropping below 50 with 60 most of the time. (Fps could be higher but I have v-sync and a 60 Hz monitor)
thanks for the input mate, really glad it helped! :)
Thanks a lot dude.
it worked for me even now
cant thankyou enough for making these types of videos
2020 and still working, thank you so much mate!
Glad to hear it bro!
I love you and your guide, it made a huge 60 fps difference and now i can play without these annoying stutters
nice one bro, glad it helped
Thanks friend!I found this very helpful!
Thank you for helping us with solving this problem, so we all can enjoy the game
It's working perfectly thanks mate!
Thanks Man Worked Like Butter.
Legend u sound so friendly it makes me happy
your video is very relaxing :))) and thank you it works by the way :D
This is mazing. It helped so much.
I did everything you did and it worked flawlessly.
glad it worked my man
This helped tremendously, thank you so much!! Playing with god drops knewing my pc could handle the game was frustrating, i wish I saw this video years ago!
really glad it helped bro!
i really hope this works, i have a 3070 , i7 10700k , and i literally lagg and chugg when walking and walk through gorilla glue when playing any battliefield

this really worked. i had drops to 40 from 60 fps. now i can play it like in old days. :D
I'm just passing by and I just wanted to say thank you for responding to our comments despite this being 4 year old video. :)
no worries bro, I love that it's helped some people
thx man that really helped. I was playing on low with like 30 fps... and now im playing on medium with 60 fps.
good I'm really glad it helped
What's your device trummi?
Yup, that fixed my problem. I went through a hell of a lot of other solutions that were useless.
Do you think this also helps Battlefield 5? Because it does for 1.
Thanks man, i used those 2 tricks and now i can play BF1 in Ultra and 150% btw, i love your voice
thanks :)
this guy is the most realistic guy because he doesn't have some sort of super mega ultra-fast 32 GB of ram and the top of the line graphics card, so his setup matches close to a lot of peoples, oh and the tips work thank you for that.
really glad it helped my man, enjoy
Works perfect ! Thank You so much ;)
sensational!
Yo dude, thanks for the video, this helped me quite abit actually the game was basically unplayable. I adjusted some other settings to top it all off and it runs really smooth now, altough, i still think it ran even smoother back in 2016 but then again my pc is getting old and has quite abit of dust inside, But dude, ty.
nice one man, can't believe this still works!
Holy thank you i almost quit BF1 cuz this frikin stutter now i play at 72 fps and when big war ( so many enemy) like 47fps but its 64 almost anytime
THANKS ALOT
Dude ur best and u should keep on doing this i subbed u from my 5 account kepp on doing this hope for ur best man
cheers man, much appreciated. I'm very busy with work ATM but I'll make more videos in the future
Subbed for helping us!
Update. Actually it now works amazingly well compared with before. How on earth did you find how to do this!? Amazing
Adjusted my pre rendered frame to 8 and seems to work better now (even tho that’s not an option in the nVida settings)
Legend
the nvidia setting is now called low latency mode i think so it still exists. Glad it worked dude. :)
Thanks, it works for me👌
thank you soo much u just earned a sub :D
this helped thanks man
I have a Intel Pentium G4560 + Intel hd 610 graphics. I play at 20 fps. Max. Thx for this.
Absolute legend thanks
This fixed my game man, i thought it was my RAM that was bottlenecking my pc, then i upgraded it to 16GB but the game still ran like shit, i was thinking that my i5 2500k and my GTX 1050 2GB couldn't handle it but now it works fine thanks a lot.
glad it worked bro
When it first came out I played it on ultra at max settings.. now I have about 40-50 frames. It's annoying. Help me out breh!
whats your rig? its dumb it's so badly optimised right? especially for a AAA title.
Same for me Eddie, i played it at max graphics and i had 120 fps ... now bullshit
Same, I remember playing the BETA with 100+ frames, now avg 80 doesn't matter the setting which isn't that bad but still the game doesn't use gpu correctly
thank man my fps is not going under 100 now i didnt expect this to work after 6 years
i cant believe it does either bro, that's amazing!
Hey good video, i have a question. Right before you saved the file i noticed in the (Encoding) box you had ANSI selected in the lower part of the screen....should i do the same? because on my computer ANSI wasn't selected my default. Help would be appreciated thanks!
to be honest i have no idea, maybe see if it makes any difference, I'd be interested to know
Thanks man it worked great I set mine to 2 as 3 made my game crash
Glad it worked mate.
Omg this actually worked
So... mine says text document... can't get it to say notepad... also cannot get the filetype to say user config. It just switches back to "text document" I'm a little confused.
make sure when you save the file under it on file type and click all. then make sure it's named user.cfg
right click in the folder
hover over new
text document
This worked thanks.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH😄
Great video man. Very informative. Dumb question but what is the song you used in the background? It's so chill.
glad it helped, the song's in the description, by stone ocean. he's got loads of good songs
I have I should say, the exact problem, only with audio. I tried what you did because I am now desperate to find a solution. I didn't help sound, but greatly improved video. Can now run on 1440P on 60 hz but decided to do 144 hz instead. Do you have a similar file for audio?
Thanks!
there is no maximum pre-rendered frames setting in Nvidia settings, is there a fix for that or its just like that and cant change it?
its now called low latency mode or something similar. same effect though
Hey inside of the NVidea control center I cant find the "Maximum Pre-Rendered frames" anywhere in the Manage 3D settings, did they change it over the last couple of years?
yes mate, the name has now been changed to low latency mode I think (it's definitely something like that) just turn it on and it has the same effect
@@johnsimms8323 ooo good thing i looked at the comment section and im really glad this worked now i can play smoothly and merry christmas !
Not done much for me... my laptop running at 93% ram with just this game open. Feels like a memory leak maybe. It’s helped a little tho I’m sure. Just not smooth like Xbox at all!
Thanks for the video 👍
Thanks m8 just went from 15 frames to 90, it’s a cpu related bug that occurs when your cpu is not as powerful as your graphics card meaning the cpu can’t render the chunks that your gpu is generating.
that's interesting, but my CPU is an i76700 and my gpu is a gtx 1060, so i'd assume my cpu is more powerful
Help me please!!
Im running on AMD Driver
By turning on vsync makes my bf1 run smoother. But It stuttering
Hi! English is not my native language, so sorry if its not perfect, and hard to understand.
I have an 1070, i5 4590, 16 gb RAM. I had the smae problem. I watched your video, but I dont have a user file in the main directory of the game.
Should I make one with notepad++ or something?
Thanks for your answer!
yes there isn't one there to start with. Create a new notepad file and save it as user, if you make sure you save it as the right file type as explained in the video it will work for you.
Question: In the NVIDIA Control Panel, i can't find the setting that you changed in "Manage 3D Settings". Can you help me please?
it's called something like enable low latency mode or something now.
Hi! Do you by any chance know how to set maximum pre-rendered frames in the Radeon Software?
no idea mate i'm afraid, i've never had an ADM card.
My Nvidia settings didn't come up with the option to set the max pre rendered frames?
strange, what GPU do you have?
It works for me on servers that have 24 players on them. 32 or 64 still has low fps.
My rig:
Gtx 1060 6gb
16gb ram
I7 3770k
im not sure why that would be but almost every issue i ever get from this game is because of it stressing out my CPU
Hey! My game is on my hard drive I run it on a Gtx 1060 with 2tb of ram and a video memory of 3gb do you think this will work if I use your settings?
i have a 1060 3gb too. but 8gb of RAM, i'd probably get more RAM TBH
when I save the notepad document it wont save as a cfg like yours it still keeps saying text document when I save even after I switch it to all files on the bottom left
nvm i deleted the file and did it over again and i got it to work thanks for the helpful tips I was in the same boat as you
I have a fx-8320 radeon R9 280X and 8 RAM game run perfectly fine 60 fps and suddrnly it drops to 15-20 fps for a couple of secs every 5 mins i dont know what to do is it ny pc or the game
Alberto Rodríguez its all in the cpu with this game m8
more ram dude, your system starts using page file and perf.suffers
i already fixed, it apparently i had a fan not working and i didnt notice, now it works perfectly no more drops and 60 fps stables
I have fx 8350 r9 290 And i take on 64 players average 45fps.wtf
i used to get over 100fps on high but i barely get 30fps right now?
gonna try this. Gonna give you a like first simply because you tried.
cheers bro, hope it works
hey man, do you have vsync on?
I hear some people say leaving vsync on is better for low-end CPUs like i5, but it doesn't work for my i5 6300hq.
i found vsync (or the option that BF1 has to limit frames to 60) doesn't seem to work very well, i don't know why, that's why i did it manually instead.
You deserve more Sub
Same stuttering I'm facing with windows 11 tried every possible thing didn't fix need help pc hardware
i5 7400

Nvme Samsung 970evo plus
16Gb ram
it doesnt work for me im so sad rn
How did you get so low fps, i have gtx 750 ti and fx 4350 and i can run at 35-60fps
You should put the notepad contents in the description that way people can copy it and be sure they are putting the correct stuff in.
thats a good idea I'll do that
I dont have the max prendered framerates in my nvidia control panel. Normal ?
it's now called low latency mode in the control panel, it changed in a recent update
Hey man, it didnt really work it made it better, but not perfect somethimes the icon at 0:52 pops up and sometimes it even turns red. I dont have the nvidia option. Can you please help me?

Hey i got a 1060 3 GB , a i5 4590 and 8 GB 1866 Ram , no SSD. I play on Ultra except post processing @1440p with 76 FPS.
What i did is
1 : Make your CPU use 100% not 99%
2 : Overclock the 1060.
3 : Disable Windows Defender realtime thingy
4 : Turn Post processing to low and Lightning Quality to low or medium (game will look the same)
5 : Defrag Your drive and use CCleaner to clean old registrys n shit
6 : make sure that you use the right XMP profile for your RAM
Youll still get some microstutter now and then but thats because of the 8 GB RAM. Biggest fix for me was to put the cpu to 100% tho.
Google mate. "How to make your CPU use 100%" or something.
