I made a study schedule and I am in my first week. I decided that I would do a SCOTUS comparison question every Wednesday, and today, Tuesday, Heimler uploads this video. What a coincidence! I am so happy
for c could you also say that interest groups could lobby congress and use the decision in Hernandez as evidence to make them to create a law to make more strict jury selection guidelines?
the answer guide from the college board gives an example answer as "• An interest group could lobby members of Congress to expand civil rights using the Hernandez case. "
thank you for this video! however, how does that answer for part B answer the part where it asks to "explain how the rulings led to similar decisions in both cases"? you didn't compare them at all, you just stated the facts?
For "explain how the facts led to a similar decision in both cases" the answer described that both cases dealt with racial discrimination/equal protection (the facts) and in both cases the defendant (Board of Education in Brown and Texas in Hernandez) was found to be in violation of the Constitution (equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment). However, the comparison could have been clearer so I see your point.
Yes both involve equal protection clause, that is something you want to state. Since the 14th amendment goes over other clauses like depriving people of life, liberty, and property.

Do you just teach history or do you also teach other subjects like AP microeconomics?
I teach history and government. I have taught macroeconomics before, but not very well
For the first one, would "Both cases involve the Equal Protection Clause" be okay, or do I have to specify that its from the 14th amendment
Yes both involve equal protection clause, that is something you want to state. Since the 14th amendment goes over other clauses like depriving people of life, liberty, and property.
