    It feels great to finally be able to return to YT again but I'm still very tired from long work weeks & from the covid long-hauler symptoms that tend to hang on for far too long. There were other games I had to talk about & share but I simply forgot out of tiredness. I hope to get my energy levels back soon so I can passionately share my love for video games, movies & collecting my friends, thank you for your understanding & support which means a lot.

    Dean: #1) Being that 'Cold War' is in my Top 40 original Xbox titles collection, I was delighted to see you giving it some attention. As you know, there's very little about this game on YT. #2) Stuntman. A very worthy and long overdue addition to your collection! Upon it's original 2002 release, I fondly remember playing this game and looking at it as the "forerunner" to the upcoming DRIV3R game. Well, ultimately that game didn't disappoint. Nor did Stuntman disappoint. Stuntman resides in my all-time top 10 PS2 titles collection. The "Trials" game of it's day, Stuntman was also one of the first games to use the Renderware engine. I loved/love it exactly for what it is. Unfortunately, I don't feel the same about it's follow-up, Stuntman Ignition. While admittantly never playing the full retail release, I did play the PS3 demo and was immediately put off by the vehicles lacking weight and oversimplified physics, (compared to its predecessor) #3) Stray is on my future "buy" list. It reminds one of what vidgames used to be, when there was life beyond seasonal AAA releases. #4) TLOU franchise remains dead to me. While the original does remain in my collection, I purposely went out of my way to NOT pick up the accompanying strategy guide, art book, and of course it's sequel. A virtual "F#ck You" to that development team, from me to them. #5) Take it easy, and talk soon. Vin

    Catching up on these, Dean! Looks like a great set of pickups! I spotted a few games I've went back and played (like PGR3). I still own and cherish that Xbox you gave me. It's safely tucked in an original retail box I bought from eBay. And I've already started collecting some Xbox games. I'm excited to start playing games from that era again. I'm currently playing Stray right now as I picked up the PS5 retail copy that just came out. Loving it as you were, they did such a fantastic job on the animations, world and music. Just wish it had HDR support but great to see games like that get released and come out on disc! I'll be watching some more of your content over the weekend. Best wishes!

    Nice pickups man. you need to send me your list of guides you are looking for. Ever since my in-laws moved to the Reno area, i found a pretty nice retro store that has a nice selection of guides and I thought I had a list of yours from before. I have not yet played Stray, my son downloaded it and i want to give it a try but my wife had surgery recently so i have not been gaming very much while assisting to her. About the only gaming is on my 3ds or switch as those I can play about anywhere. Welcome back brother.

    Hey Dean, awesome video as always. Glad to see another video, it really encourages me to want to make more as I see less and less of my friends making videos from when I started a channel on here. It sometimes can be discouraging. You have some interesting finds there, I’m not as well versed in the racing genre, so it’s good to see finds from someone who knows it well. The post apocalyptic rare find you opened up game sounds cool, there are a lot of under the radar post apocalyptic Mad Max styled games I find…I happened to try Fist of the North Star which is themed in a similar style world, but an action RPG theme like the Yakuza games and really enjoyed it. I guess the Mad Max post apocalyptic theme makes any game better. It seems to inspire a lot of games as it probably should. It’s nice to hear you are continuing to enjoy Stray, thanks for the shout out and yes I’m still in Richmond. Have you heard about the Robocop game they are making by the team that made the brilliant Terminator Resistance? Anyway, I’m rambling. Thanks for sharing your videos as always and I hope you continue to be well!

    Another great video Dean. It was good to see you back with a new video after all of the challenges you've had to face this year and the past few years. I'm glad that you've recovered from the evil Covid for a second time. It was great to hear that you've been able to game again, even if it's been limited because of your health.
    Your buddy sent you some great gifts. I know how much you love your racing games. I bought all of the ATV vs MX games for the Xbox 360 a few years ago before they really jumped in price. I've kept all of my 7th gen ports of games that got re-released on 8th gen. I wanted to keep them for the same reason you are buying them back. I just don't know, if all of our 8th gen games will always be playable in the future, so I like having the option to at least be able to play the 7th gen versions offline. I bought a few 7th gen versions of games, like Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, as I really enjoyed that game and wanted to play the Xbox 360 version to see what changes they had to do to the game due to the limited hardware. I was surprised at how well that game actually ran on the Xbox 360. I even bought The Wolfenstein New Order on Xbox 360. It was so large of a game that it came on 4 discs. I have a few more 7th gen versions of 8th gen games to add to my collection.
    I can't believe what's happened to some of our favorite games and series, because of companies wanting to be "PC". It's a shame to see, but you and I, are no longer the target audience. We really were very spoiled with 7th gen gaming. We had so many games released every year and I played a lot of them thanks to renting games at Family Video. I ended up buying a lot of the games I rented from Family Video, after a few months, when they would sell the extra copies they had. With 8th gen I found fewer and fewer games each year that interested me. It's only been in the past couple of years that I've went back and built up my 8th gen library.
    I'm still on the fence about getting a 9th gen console. I just can't justify spending $600 to $700 to play just a few games. Even though I really want to play them, I plan to wait for a few years. I have such a backlog of games to play from 4th gen to 8th gen, that I can wait on playing some of these newer games that are being released. It's also easier to just wait these days for some of these modern releases. So many of these games need day one patches, or several patches, in order to even be able to play them, with tons of game breaking bugs.
    I'm glad that you're enjoying Stray and I can't wait for the physical PS4 versions to release later this year. It's nice to be able to play a few story based games that you can just relax and not have to worry about every aspect in the game world. It's sweet to play some relaxing games at times.
    Keep up the great work on the channel my friend and I know you can't wait to receive this next package of strategy guides and games. Take care my friend and be well.

    • @vinniecorleone62
      @vinniecorleone62  2 года назад +2

      Thanks brother, I always enjoy & appreciate your well spoken points within my comment section. I don't care about buying multiplats of 8th gen games, only 7th gen as those remasters could be a potential issue way down the road. I saw "Wolfenstein TNO" on the 360 & it looks like crap, I can't go backwards, only forward but I understand your reasons. I obviously made a tactical error in trading in & giving away all those 7th gen games when I bought the remasters as now I need to get them all back. I'm so close now to wrapping all this up, I pretty much gave the majority of what I want, I'm just fine tuning the collection at this point.

After finishing I started new game on authentic difficulty and try to go through the campaign with subdue as manny as possible nazis without killing them. For completing stealthy. And there possibilities like all guns blazing and all between. So I think this game is for different kind of players. There is also a option to play in first person modes on the guns. Which gives a complete different play experience. I saw you like stray, I 'm into that one too. Will obtain that also some day. I'm still mourning the loss of little Oliver, my Maine Coon cat I had for 5 wonderful years right before we moved to Idaho, I give much of myself & my time to them so a game where you experience the world through a cat I find fascinating & a terrific adventure & concept.

    Sadly, I'm a bit bummed now on the new MX vs ATV as the devs have patched out a lot of the riding physics that made it more realistic and challenging, I feel like the updates have completely watered it down and made it play much more like an arcade game for wider appeal. I'd only consider playing it now without the patches. This is why my preferred series remains the Milestone "Supercross" games; they tend to bring a more realistic approach that I like to the dirt bike riding.
    Definitely will be pre-ordering Stay, and hopefully by that time I can get a PS5 because I'm really hoping to upgrade to the 9th gen soon, just don't want to get ripped off buying a console from a scalper, even GameStop has bundle deals now which are technically scalping. It's nuts. Interesting lot of pickups once again, gotta love that OG Xbox, so many great games and still quite affordable. Take care.

      I have recently discovered some YT channels specializing in dirt bike games & Sims as I wanted to learn everything going on with "MX vx ATV Legends", thanks to you as I think it was you who told me to jump on the physical game which I quickly did that day. These sim guys raved about how much better the physics are in the game in spite of some minor issues they don't care for as much but said the latest 2 patches fixed a lot of assorted issues. I spent 90 minutes downloading the 2 big patches then tried it & found the handling good. I utilize the twin sticks for handling as I can lay the bike down well in the tight turns for solid handling. Many apparently complained that the initial handling was too "Slidey" so they must have tweeked it. I used to ride a lot of dirt bikes & had a older 70's Yamaha 360 Enduro & later a nice Yamaha YZ-250 which I could weelie the length of my street & took many big jumps over 70 mph on it & upwards of 95 mph on my old Y-360, so I have played a lot of this series including "MX vs ATV Supercross Encore" & enjoyed a lot of it's DLC. I'm sorry it doesn't work well for you bud.

      @@vinniecorleone62 Yeah people do like the updates for sure, but personally I’ve not been a fan how the games feel in the series since the THQ bankruptcy and becoming a sub full price game. I prefer the handling system of the Milestone dirt bike games, and even the older MX vs games. I get that they’re not supposed to be realistic, and it certainly handles well for an arcade game. I think a lot of these guys are fans of accessibility and not necessarily challenge. Many will complain when a game pops you off the bike, even though most of these games never do as they are extremely forgiving. One of my bigger gripes is the cornering how it looks and feels in these newer MX vs games. Almost like an automated on rails deal.
      For what it is, the game works fine. I’m just complaining about what it’s not, so that’s kind of a lost cause I suppose. I was a fan of MXGP Pro which got a lot of flak from these guys for being too punishing and technical. That’s just what I prefer. I enjoy dirt biking as well, I ride a rmz 250. I’m not a pro or even an amateur but I like my dirt bike games to present a challenge beyond what most probably expect in physics department.

I wanted to pick up the "MXGP 2021" game I think it is but can't find a physical copy. I would easily welcome a more Sim-like experience if it exist on console as I don't do PC games nor online multi-player.

      @@vinniecorleone62 MXGP and Supercross The Official Game are kinda sibling series by Milestone. The MXGP games stopped having physical editions in 2021, but Supercross is still physical as of Supercross 5. Personally I like MXGP Pro for it's more technical side which was not continued with the sequels, but MXGP 3 is also very good.
      As a new comer I don't think you could go wrong with any in the series. They are all available on console and playable offline as far as I'm aware. The games are what I would call a sim-cade, they can often be forgiving as well, but the feel of the riding is just more realistic and satisfying overall and the graphics are very good in these games. A lot of them, particularly the older entries can be had inexpensively too. Hope that you enjoy the series when you get to try it out.

    Hey my friend good to hear you’re feeling better. But I have to tell you this. A good example as to why you sometimes get yourself in trouble. At 4:08 you talk about buying back Tomb Raider. At 5:09 you moan about forced female protagonists. 😀. I know you have mentioned over and over that Tomb Raider is one of your favorite franchises…however the hypocrisy and still be pointed to. Much love though.

    • @vinniecorleone62
      @vinniecorleone62  2 года назад +4

      The distinction between "Tomb Raider" from the early Playstation 1 days to the many female protagonist games out today is that "Tomb Raider" was trying something new & very unique by having a woman "Indiana Jones" exploring, etc, where today it's totally pandering as to replace the toxic male so this issue is quite political in nature strongly pushing political correctness instead of ingenuity. I hope that clears up my stance on this, times have changed & games now are being heavy influenced by the political views of developers & game publishers instead of giving many types of gamers exactly what they want, like in pre-8th gen games in particular.
