This is exactly my one gripe with Adam Neely's work sometimes. There's no doubt that he collaborates with some of the most skilful musicians but sometimes, the overlapping textures just gets muddy, or rowdy as you put it.
As a Chicagoan, I can say that Nate Werth is among the best things Indiana has ever produced. Respect to a lynchpin of Snarky Puppy. Get down with ya bad self.
I didn’t think I’d ever like a Snarky Puppy album better than We Like It Here, but they did it with Empire Central. Somehow they managed to make a 90 minute masterpiece full of great songs written by several people that are all distinct but very cohesive.
Every time someone calls me a musician I watch Snarky Puppy and come to the realisation, I’m a guy who plays an instrument they are true musicians. The ability to groove like this, give each other space and time to shine is true musicianship and artistry. Incredible, straight…🔥🔥.
Just doesn't get any better than this guys! Funky as can be! Sign of greatness is there are others out there now trying to imitate this, but 'nobody' does it like "Snarky Puppy!"
I took my wife to the Snarky concert in ATL, and seeing Nate be a whirling dervish on percussion is what blew her away the most. What an amazing grove in this song. It is so Scrappy.
Aside from how amazingly groovy this song is, I want to point out that this probably has the best video editing of all released songs thus far. The edit manages to catch instruments when they play the smallest details. Even though I have listened this song countless of times, the video still manages to bring up new layers that I did not hear before.
Larnell and Jamison are awesome playing support here: the power of 3 drummers with the sound of 1. The SP drummers are really out here making new waves: no egos, straight groove
Snarky Puppy introduced me to the finer genres of instrumental music and I'm just so grateful. Idk how you did it, but this whole album rivals We Like It Here. Every track is perfection 🥲 God bless every one of you.
waooooow........ j adore!!!! rythme incroyable..... son de la guitare au début..... juste magnifique.....jamais déçue par snarky puppy... continuez à nous faire rêver...♥
Holy smokes this rocks ❤❤ keep up the awesome work. Its always good to see your favorite creators have another passion in the backround and this sir to me is by far some of the best guitar playing ive heard.
So great !!! Yes another masterpiece !!! The magic here is great music but also great musicians, nobody selfish, just each shuttle part, well played, almost softly, but yet together this blends so well !!! And the audio recording and mixing is through the roof !!! You can ear every guitar, percussion, cord and note. Incredible !!! And with the beautiful video filming this is just a joy to see all of that !
Man I've been watching these videos drop one at a time for months now wondering when or if I'd ever see myself in one of them. Well it figures that finally I found me 3 weeks after the drop in prolly the funkiest song ever by these guys. This piece of music is right up there with the best. I'm thinking it is a great place to be seen. (I wouldn't have minded "RL's" either though hehe).
I was. It was magic. I remember when they played this. Shaun told a story beforehand about UT-Austin alum Mean Joe Green (the US football legend). Great interlude. Then they funked out. I love their harder edge stuff and this is right near the top.
Really nice track...love that it is so groove focused, and really features JT's snappy backbeat. Great interwoven guitar parts...and overall great complimentary parts :)
I've recently started listening to Ghost Note, and it's just struck me that Mean Grean sounds like it would fit right in into any of their records, which makes sense, since Nate composed it.
How a group this large can groove so hard yet so tight continues to blow me away. Just awesome.
They have; soul, skill, chemistry, discipline and trust.
A true representation of mastery.
I can hear a backing track or something. They are all playing along to it. Not a criticism; I like their stuff.
I thought they prerecorded. It has a feel of "post production" tightness. But who knows, I'm nobody in social media music industry.
@@iangelling No backing track. Just a click. All live. Never prerecorded anything in this band.
It's the way there are over 20 instruments playing together without making it sound rowdy. This is yet another masterpiece♥️
The rowdy bits don't make it through the mix ! (But still a masterpiece)
musically a real football team
This is exactly my one gripe with Adam Neely's work sometimes. There's no doubt that he collaborates with some of the most skilful musicians but sometimes, the overlapping textures just gets muddy, or rowdy as you put it.
Remember to thank the engineers ;)

Favorite Snarky album!! Love every song!
Same feeling. This is now my favorite all-time Snarky album.
It is spectacular, but my fave is still Culcha Vulcha
Dunno if its my favourite...but it's cracked its way into the top 5 easily and that top 5 was pretty airtight before.
The Zack's violin solo in "Belmont" is electrifying...
Man, tightest most rhythmic piece this century. One take, no conduction, all players feeling it, WOW! Superb and so next level.
Prayers up for Shaun!!!!

One more masterpiece. Thats all, folks! ⭐️
Still getting new videos from Empire Central?! Please let that NOT be all!! In the words of Britney: Gimme gimme moahhhr
If Mozart made funky music, this is how it would sound.
Yes, another masterpiece
Snarky Puppy are on another level

What an amazing grove in this song. It is so Scrappy.
Almost sounds like an old school 80s/90s breakdance track 🔥
With that DC go-go coconut percussion - remember E.U.?
Seeing this song makes MUCH MORE SENSE!
I almost gave up on the Mean Green video. It's finally here!

Can't wait for the video editing on Keep It On Your Mind 🤞
But we don't see who is playing the guitar solo... :(
@@dantahoua I don't think it was a guitar solo - see the guy in the back at 3:06
Yeah, I noticed they really tightened the camera work
It's a keyboard solo. Same sound as the last "guitar" solo on RL's. Watch the video for that song, they show him playing more.
Love the tight funky chaos.
Shout out to the mix man.. This song is tight AF!! The sonic magic it takes to produce a mix like this is truly rare.
whoever edited this, fantastic job - really highlights all the small parts that make up a monster song. also, of course that’s JT on the drums.
Don't forget Larnell.
Larnell and Jamison are awesome playing support here: the power of 3 drummers with the sound of 1. The SP drummers are really out here making new waves: no egos, straight groove
Great as always, can’t wait for the videos for the rest of the album!
Yesssssss!!!!!
God bless you Shaun Martin. Continued prayer.
The congo is pefect in this song
SOOOOO so tight
I love the mixes of ryrhyms, the way all the parts fit perfectly
You mean my favorite song from the album is written by their percussionist? Incredible!
My ears are blown away
This is the truly "wall of funky sound"
Right in the pocket. Simple complexity
❤❤❤❤❤grooovy and interesting. Its like chameleon or watermelon man, acid jazz style, and i love it
Just the right sounds for me to listen to today. Thank you
This is our big band music
Always great friends! Many greetings!

My boys are back wit da funk
Very Funky for them!! 😍😍🎶🎶🎼🎼👍👍🎷🎷💋💋😎😎
Video editor: How much screen time do you want to appear on your own song, Nate?
Nate: No.
Immensely funky…you guys get better and better 😎
y'all gonna win another grammy this year
when I heard that groovy melody the first time I had to pick up my guitar and play along, too much fun
What a groove !!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks SP, we love you
The beginning reminded me of Hey Arnold's soundtrack
the mixing work on this is chefs kiss.
I think I have actually listened to this song 1000 times.
Nice way to start the weekend!
Holy smokes this rocks ❤❤ keep up the awesome work. Its always good to see your favorite creators have another passion in the backround and this sir to me is by far some of the best guitar playing ive heard.
So many people playing so understated! Marvelous!
This should have been your opening track on album... it sets the tone for the rest of the album perfectly.
incredible brecker brothers vibes on this one
so many hands and feet, and still, everything is locked and grooving hard. insane
That percussion groove is👌
Makes sense, it was written by Nate one of the percussionists.
Immense groove that man.
holy crap i love this groove
Huh huh ! Too tight. 👍
Clav solo is ferallll 💫
Fantastic groove! Hope Shaun is doing Ok. 🙏🏼
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
What’s about shaun? I’m afraid?
This is incredible! I’m so excited to see them live in Toronto on the 28th!
Tight!❤ my big brother used to call me mean and green when I was little 😂

Love this song, cant stop listening to this album. This groove is sick!
I can hear the legendary James Brown's "Get On The Good Foot" around :20 seconds. Nice!😎😎

Go Mean Green!
These guys never disappoint! Amazing!
can't stop listening
So funky! Wish I was there…

Amazing grooves
Heroin for the ears and just before bedtime too, awesome!
Thank you 😎
That is seriously funky!!!
snarky ~always a win ~ puppy
Yeeahh 🎉🎉 a piece from Nate Werth
I absolutely love this one
I am amazed by all the work the sound engineer has to do in order to get a very nice mix of all the instruments. Like how many hours does he need? 😳
Groovy grooving grooves
I love Snarky Puppy!
Your music is 🔥 EVERY SINGLE TIME‼️
Praying for Shaun! 🙏🏾
love how Wurly is the backbone of this funky thing
Really nice track...love that it is so groove focused, and really features JT's snappy backbeat.
Great interwoven guitar parts...and overall great complimentary parts :)
spread love ✌🧡
Awesome ❤
This is not a band...this is an organism, every cell humbly playing it's part for the greater good.
Finally !!🔥🔥
It's about time, damn it!
Badass!
Dope as hell, as usual
It doesn't get funkier than "Mean Green"!
Masters!
so good
This track brings some Roy Ayers vibes to me. One of the coolest in this album!
Yes! I have been waiting for this song for quite long. After this, please release the video for "Portal".
The title alone makes it sound like the funkiest song they’ve ever made
go nate!!! the funk is funkin
So Deitch. Love it! Always wanted Deitch to play on SP tracks
excellently
Love it. And I'm cracking up at "Poca Broma".
I wish from the bottom of my heart to one day to be seated in this magnificent act
I've recently started listening to Ghost Note, and it's just struck me that Mean Grean sounds like it would fit right in into any of their records, which makes sense, since Nate composed it.

Sonic banquet! made my 57th birthday better!
