- A sellout crowd at Providence Park witnessed the Portland Thorns fall to the North Carolina Courage, 3-0, in the NWSL Championship.

Players of Thorns dare not take responsibility to shoot when the angle was wide in front of the goal of Courage but they almost always passed the ball to either side of the goal where the shooting angle was pretty narrow probably because the key players were there so they could not even score an honor goal. The Coach was the one to be blamed first because he/she could not see it so he/she did not instruct the players to adapt themselves to the situation

Tough one to lose, but so proud of the grit and tenacity this Thorns team showed this season. #BAONPDX Also a huge congrats to Lindsey Horan for winning a well-deserved NWSL MVP this season.

I couldn't believe (actually come to think of it, I'm not that surprised) the boos raining down on poor Jaelene Hinkle by all so many anti-Christian Portland fans. It is a very nice gesture by Jess McDonald to support her teammate in the face of such hate. And hers was not a message of hatred, but one reminding the spectators of our Lord's ultimate sacrifice due to His love for us!
I am an atheist and I feel for her. It just proves bigotry is universal.
I don’t believe in that lord you are talking about but regardless of where you stand, what Thorns fans did was not ok at all - I get booing to opposite team, that’s normal everywhere; but booing and bullying one player for standing by her convictions doesn’t feel right - and I would’ve felt the same if say, a lesbian/atheist player would’ve rejected to play for her national team because the team wanted to use religious images that condemn or hurt her personal choices!
Were they not just booing because she scored and appeared to be offsides? What makes you think it was because of her shirt?
I think they booed her for her homophobia, not because she's a Christian. There are multiple Christian athletes playing for the Thorns.
I couldn’t even read her shirt, we just booed because she was flashing something, I had no clue what it said, all I could do was boo. Have you ever played sports or been passionate about a team? Lol
