Hi Friends - I did it! I finally finished and published my ebook! This is the story of how I went from depression to dream life in one year by minimizing my world down to the size of a suitcase. I hope my book inspires you to follow your dreams :) If I can do it, you can too! You can find it here: amzn.to/2nyyc7a
Why do I love the way you say "bags"!☺️ I just moved over the weekend, prior to my move I watched minimalism and deck uttering videos and I'm happy to say that my husband and I got rid of soooo much stuff by donating and discarding! Thanks so much for the videos!
My daughter grew up in a studio with me, 528 sq ft between 2 girlie girls. At first, we were so crammed in, and there wasn't an available storage unit for our extra stuff. After living like that for a few years, I brainstormed and began a minimalist journey before it was a thing. Watching your videos reaffirmed what I started years ago. Thank you! Hopefully, others will declutter and downsize. Now that my daughter is on her own, the studio is more than enough.
I really love your idea's. In my apartment I don't have a dinning table cause it's only me and my husband and its really awsoome when I enter my home enjoy the wide view. But I have a folding dinning table, whenever guests come around we use it rest of the time it perfectly fits in one of our closet.
I relate so much to what you were saying about kitchen items. I moved out on my own in May and my parents moved overseas in June so I got SO MANY of their items (especially because they sold and donated everything they owned and bought all new things after relocating). A lot of the things I was given were things I never would've picked out for myself (and although I'm grateful for all of the free things, I have a little more income now to buy things that spark joy to replace all of the hand-me-downs). Going through everything can be so exhausting, especially because all of the items are perfectly good and there's no real reason to declutter them other than the fact that I don't really love them. Thanks so much for this video, I got some awesome tips to use!
My husband is sitting across the table from me as I'm watching these videos, and nodding his agreement with everything you're saying, not really saying anything but maybe "mmmhmmm." But when you got to the part about the books (my personal Achilles' heel), he just looked up at me and said, "Yeah, that'll never happen." LOL!
These categories have all been hurdles for me on my minimalism journey lol :) I've slowly been able to tackle nearly all of them, except purses! I'm such a pack rat for bags. I donated some and sold some, but I still have 12 including totes and my gym bag. Yikes! Going into my closet now to try and muster up some self-discipline.
I am not a minimalist... Im a couponer.... But im HOPING to find a steady balance between the two. :) Ive been binge watching your videos the last few days!
Megan have you had any success lol Ive been able to rid myself of things ive been holding onto for no reason and find more space for my couponing stuff lol. But i kinda feel like the two ideals are clashing :(
Zo! ❤️ these are such amazing tips! And that app seems super great ☺️💕 I have such a hard time getting rid of travel memorabilia, but memories are the only things that matter!! Love you girl! 🙏🏻
I totally agree about recognizing the value something adds and if it doesn't add substantial value then parting ways with it...This has really helped me too. :) also, I love watching your channel grow, it makes me so happy for you.😘
Literally got me pulling stuff out and chucking it in the bin, took me a while to notice! Feels like you're adding value to the things you're keeping by throwing rubbish ones away. Thanks for your advice, Zoey! ;)
This was great Zoey! I use the same measuring cup. 😊 I also want to mention that your last video was awesome and so much fun! I've always been a minimalist but I love finding ways to be more minimal by my fellow minimalists. Thank you for sharing!
I really had to fight my hubby over taking excess plates out of the kitchen cupboard. "But what if we have people over?" Well, the truth is we don't and so I have compromised by keeping half of them and the rest are stored in the garage. In a year's time, when they still haven't migrated back into the kitchen, I can take them to the op shop with a clear conscience
a newbie here thanks for all your input....where can i find the listing of folks you highly recommended to visit.....they are minimalist folks there were about 10 people you recommended for us to visit
Hello there new subscriber here! I love your channel but in the back ground your lounge room has items I would so be tempted to remove (not in a bad way) aren't you tempted to clear out those vases and stick things? I love clear outs and a clutter less life. I have a luxury hand bag channel which I've got rid off more then half!! X Lisa
+The World According To Lisa Hi Lisa, thank you and welcome to the channel! :) I am actually living in Italy with a host family so this is not my personal space.
i need you to come to my place and do it for me. LOL how much would that cost?! Or do you know services that do it? bc I can't declutter, it's so hard! I was successful at ridding of good clothing by taking to goodwill, giving to siblings and to couple of other countries. But for someone that hold sentiments in almost everything, how do you separate what to really keep?
Sarah! If you were near me I definitely would :) I made a cleaning out your closet video which could help you! I'd say try to invite a minimalist friend over if you have and get them to help steer you in the right direction and ask you if you truly need things!.. I will make a video all about sentimental pieces soon :)
Getting rid of plates doesn't make sense to be, because when I run the dishwasher, I want it to be full, so I can wash in a more eco friendly fashion. Unless I'm hand washing, running 5 dishes would be incredibly wasteful...

Haha Debbie! I feel you! Books were my weakness!! Still are as I hold onto 5, but I do re-read them all the time!
