Thank you for sharing your pain and suffering with us Jimmy! I was indeed entertained brother! I was slightly relieved to see that real life happens to other people as well. I appreciate the real-time lessons. That's a good-looking lawn you have!
"This is not a how to video".... Using the shovel in flip-flops was kinda a hint at that..😂😂 Great video Jimmy. I'm actually relocating and replacing all of mine in the backyard right now.
Where did those rocks come from🤷♂️🤦♂️ I'm surprised the other sprinklers are not taking care that spot but now it will good job I love projects in the yard👍
At least you got lots of glue on it, hopefully when it fell in the dirt it didn’t pick up any chunks that could possibly cause a leak in the future! Hopefully it will help with your dry section though . 👍🏼
Yeah I'm already seeing improvements with the dry areas. But yes, I made sure I didn't pick up any rocks/grass before attempting to attach that piece again.
I made a map of my system before the lines were covered with grass. I used different reference points and measurements to triangulate pipe locations. I also took pictures of many of the pipes before they were covered. I put them all on a PowerPoint presentation with links to pictures so you could find lines by measurement and see what you were going to see if you dug there. I didn’t get all the pictures I wanted but the measurements are pretty good.
This may not be a how to but it was very helpful and insightful because I never knew about the snap in. I assume that you would have to cut the pipe and insert a tee.. I have to do something similar and I will try to snap and method. Thank you, great video
@Jimmy Lewis, what is that product called? you added on PVC pipe, it would save my lot of time, I am looking for adding one more heard in my sprinkler line.
Why did you turn the water on and quickly off after drilling? If it’s to clear out any drill shaving won’t they also travel down the line to the next sprinkler heads? Also, by going from 3/4 down to 1/2 in the funny pipe is PSI lost? Thanks for the video.
Nice video...seems to me that just attaching the new head using PVC piping would be a lot less time consuming and simpler that the system you were using, which i have never seen before. Thanks.
If you're where you can expose the dead end of the pvc, do yourself a favor and use a standard glue tee. Those snap on tee's are for folks that don't know any better. A couple steps below a shark bite fitting🤣.
Thanks bro that was awesome! Where did u get that pvc piece that snaps on top? Never saw anything like that before. Also what size hole did you drill ? Thanks !
Your lawn looks amazing! Is there a way to know if my zone can support another head? I have a buried well on a pump. I don't currently know my GPM or pressure.
Hey Jimmy just found this video. Very helpful. Thanks so much and hope all is well and also hope you see this comment and question after a year. 😊. Only thing I cannot find is that exact 3/4 to 1/2 inch PVC adapter with female thread and barb elbow end anywhere? Where did you get yours Please? Thank you very much and take care!
Good video, bud. You must be an engineer! Lowly electricians like myself stay away from water sources when they're turned on, and certainly keep mobile devices away from water. Just good-humored stuff, no offense! You might mow high, but when I'm in MY backyard, I mo-better. Thanks again. I need to add a sprinkler head or 3 myself, just had a new lawn done, so I can move the newly-laid sod, dig, and get 'er done. Thanks!!
good job man! im acutally going to do a small project too on the fall. so the house i recently moved into has sprinklers heads on the side of the fence for the backyard. the only problem is that the last owner planted some big trees all along the fence, so when the zone comes on is just hits the trees lol i just gotta move 3 of them but that wasent the smartest of him haha
instead of the plumber torch, either use a heat gun or simply use hot water - dip the tip of the pipe in hot water and it will soften it - that torch is probably not the best idea for this work -
Seriously what is this guy thinking putting ads at the beginning of his videos?? I hate it for us that we had to wait 5 seconds to push the skip button. So inconvenient for everyone involved!
Everything is 10x better with an office clip 🔥🔥🔥
[Insert Dwight "It's true..." gif]

I was very entertained! Especially when that snap fitting flew by your head lol! Good job jimmy 😂👍🏽
Thanks for the tip on the snap fitting. I hadn't seen one before. Everything worked perfect.
When you tested it and it was working, you were like Tom Hanks in Castaway when he made fire!! ha ha!
Perfect analogy 😂
"This is not a how to video".... Using the shovel in flip-flops was kinda a hint at that..😂😂 Great video Jimmy. I'm actually relocating and replacing all of mine in the backyard right now.
Hahaha spot on. That was the 1st wth i saw in this video..😅
Love the goofs, real world things you left in!
Where did those rocks come from🤷♂️🤦♂️ I'm surprised the other sprinklers are not taking care that spot but now it will good job I love projects in the yard👍
Nothing like cutting in a supply line when you are not expert. I know that feeling well. Nice video Jimmy.
Lol that was quite intertaining. 😂
Well done Jimmy! Lawn looks so great man! Cheers pal
Thank you!
A far from perfect DIY project. Just like all of mine. Thanks for sharing and keeping it honest.
Lol that was funny when the clip jumped out!
At least you got lots of glue on it, hopefully when it fell in the dirt it didn’t pick up any chunks that could possibly cause a leak in the future! Hopefully it will help with your dry section though . 👍🏼

Inconvenient rock is suddenly convenient at 7:46
Right?? Turn those negatives into positives.
Yard looks great

If the system were installed today, I would have done something similar. But when it was installed I could’ve cared less about anything lawn related 😂
I used primer and cement and when I turned it on it was like the water was leaking out through the bottom... what did I do wrong?
hahaha. I have seen a lot of your videos and this one by far is the funniest. Great job man.
Thank you buddy
Dang! I thought my property was bad. Jimmy, you have mofo moon craters and asteroids on your property. My Goodness! 🤣
Great 👍 job I enjoyed it. I like the snap fitting method
I am entertained! Thanks Jimmy
Nice work Jimmy this was a great video thank you for sharing i enjoyed it. take care. 👍
Nice job Jimmy....especially digging in flip flops 😂. Good stuff brother
Casual job haha
This may not be a how to but it was very helpful and insightful because I never knew about the snap in. I assume that you would have to cut the pipe and insert a tee.. I have to do something similar and I will try to snap and method. Thank you, great video
@Jimmy Lewis, what is that product called? you added on PVC pipe, it would save my lot of time, I am looking for adding one more heard in my sprinkler line.
It's a snap-on tee fitting. 3/4" tee snap fit to 1/2" threaded female.
The blowtorch is a pro tip. I would know. I was a pro.
Why did you turn the water on and quickly off after drilling? If it’s to clear out any drill shaving won’t they also travel down the line to the next sprinkler heads?

Thanks.
What automated irrigation controller you have? Looking to replace mine
Rachio
Square work! Thank you!
Wouldn’t it been easier just cutting the pipe and adding a tee?
Great video! What kind of drill bit/size do you use to make the hole in the pipe?
If you're where you can expose the dead end of the pvc, do yourself a favor and use a standard glue tee. Those snap on tee's are for folks that don't know any better. A couple steps below a shark bite fitting🤣.
Great video Jimmy, nice to see your funny moments in the lawn. What kind of torch was that little fella? It looked pretty small and compact. .
It’s just a small torch attachment that fits on those little propane bottles. Think I got it at Walmart.
Any big rocks located under the dry spot?
Probably. As you could tell there are big rocks all over the place 😂. It's been a little over a week and that spot looks tons better.
Great video! I'm curious about the PVC bits from when you drilled. Wouldn't the water push them down the line and cause a clog?
Potentially. Always a good idea to flush the lines out before finishing your connections.
Jimmy: very well done. I’m doing one soon. Can you tell me what size bit you uses
Great video, where can I find that snap on piece. Not brave to cut my inground pipe.
What kind of sprayer are you using in your intro? Thanks for these videos.
Thanks bro that was awesome! Where did u get that pvc piece that snaps on top? Never saw anything like that before. Also what size hole did you drill ? Thanks !
Good for you. Nice work.
One day I will do some installation as well ... thanks for the No How To video!
Your lawn looks amazing! Is there a way to know if my zone can support another head? I have a buried well on a pump. I don't currently know my GPM or pressure.
Is that hole you drilled the width of that fitting??
Hey Jimmy just found this video. Very helpful. Thanks so much and hope all is well and also hope you see this comment and question after a year. 😊. Hey Ray. Check your local sprinkler supply shop. That’s where I usually get stuff. Or Home Depot/Lowes.
Nice work.
Love it when a guy can work in flip flops
Great job!!
Are you not entertained? 😂😂😂😂 you gained a sub buddy😂😂😂
I just did this same method and now that newly added sprinkler stays on during all zones, from start to finish. Can clue why?
Can’t imagine how adding a new sprinkler to an existing line would keep it on all the time. That’s strange.
You added it to a main water line that is not part of any one zone. That pipe was before the on/off valve for any zone.
Great Job
Thanks!
Nice video. Educational!
I WAS THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINED.😅
I'm at the same point as you, digging is not fun! unless you know where the pipes is , thanks for the video
DUDE how did I not know there were snap-on pieces for additions like that??
They’re awesome for stuff like this. Way less work.
Yeah never saw one of those before. Cool idea and much easier. Wonder if they will last the test of time.
Where did you find it
Good video, bud. You must be an engineer! Lowly electricians like myself stay away from water sources when they're turned on, and certainly keep mobile devices away from water. hope pieces of plastic didn't get into the line while drilling. flushing will probably take care of the issue
Hahahahahahahahaha that made me laugh so hard when you all got wet lol
second?? Great content Jimmy!
Nice, subscribed.
Great video. Thank you. P.S. put some damn shoes on. Men don’t wear flip flops. 👍
Of course I find out about the snap fitting just minutes after cutting a section of line out🤦🏼♂️
Lol nice knee pad Nancy
Thanks, Karen 😉😘

I’m surprised you’re not wearing a mask around that pvc cement can. I wear a P99 mask so I don’t inhale that crap. It’s terrible.
Gotta eat your Wheaties!
New video name How not to add a sprinkler
4:28 that's what she said
Probably
