    • @MrTeknown

      Dude, this engine has Euro 6 ratings. It's very efficient and low pollution. It is a new engine. A lot of manufactures built new engines in order to get lower pollution and consumption, but all of them went downsizing. A lot of the efficiency came from using lightweight materials, high efficiency water pumps, direct injection, high compression and a lot of the new technologies that also go in the 1.0 and 1.5 engines from other companies, but Mazda kept the engines big. The way the downsizing works is by using a turbo in order to get the same power or even greater by having virtually higher displacement of engine when under boost and you will want to keep that turbo under boost most of the time in order for it not to break. By doing that, you will get better pollution rating on paper, but not in real life. Damn, even the 2.2 diesel engine is Euro6 w/o using adblue. Mazda thinks out of the box when it comes to engines and they did a damn good job.

    • @remstesthd6784
      @remstesthd6784 6 лет назад

      but i think its not as good as turbo engine when it comes to torque at low rpm (256nm at 4000) so automatically more revs = more consumption especially with a big engine like this one

    • @MrTeknown
      @MrTeknown 6 лет назад +5

      pidarasblyat that is the maximum torque at 4000, but if you look on the power curve and torque curve, you will see that the 80%-90% of torque comes from around 2000, at 3000 already has most of it and it has torque until the end of rpm. And it is instant by not havint a turbo. It feels very good. I drove the g120 version and g165, under 4000 rpm the engines are identical, but the gearing is different. You will drive this engine between 2000 and 4000 rpm 90% time and you will enjoy higher rpm for a more agressive driving during weekends. Also, you cannot hear the engine under 4000 rpm. It is silk smooth. From my point of view, it is the best gasoline engine ever in a non performance oriented car. I have big hopes for the new skyactiv x, it will drag the other people who don't trust mazda. Oh, on paper, the engine doesn't tell the true story. We got used to the new economy engines to have compromises and this one doesn't have any.

    • @hanse81
      @hanse81 5 лет назад +4

      The car has an agressive look, stiffer chassis, weighs less then 3300 lbs even with 4x4 (less then a eGolf), drives the best of any car in its class, it's only fitting that it reaches its potential at high rpms, the way it's meant to be enjoyed. Yes, it is the wrong car if you like to drive around in 1000 rpm that is not what it is made for.

      It depends on your driving style. If you will drive this way any other nondiesel crossover, you will not get much better fuel economy while having the same fun and performance out of the little 1.5 engines.

      Hopefully Mazda still offer AWESOME engines for the petrolheads.
      For the others, there's plenty of 1.0L turbo !
      But yay, taxes are fucking high in belgium and it kills the fun
      Btw, a CX3 with a NA engine kills a TRock with a 1L turbo engine... On paper they are close but the NA engine is quicker, user less fuel and is a LOT more flexible.

      Depends how much you pay for it...
      In Belgium you pay EACH YEAR 711€ for a 2.5L and 1058€ for a 3,2L
      The first year you'll pay at least 3000€ for it...

    • @wuinny89

      Furkan Bey yup, that's why manufacturers are making downsizing. 500e is almost what you pay for a 2L.
