My dad’s got one and it is gorgeous and sounds great. The bridge won’t go high enough to get the strings up where he wants it and that beautiful tailpiece doesn’t help matters. But I still love it.
I've never seen a guitar like this and I don't know if I have ever heard of that brand. I bet a classical guitarist would love that guitar but it's certainly has its own vibe.
Great to see some more regular uploads on RUclips, I do need to get myself into some other socials. Didn't expect that tone, what a beauty, haunting licks
Chapman guitars has that one guitar with like a metallic tobacco burst or something but yeah I've never seen a classic burst like that done in metallic idk I just thought it looked amazing and I'm bewildered why I haven't seen it done before when that tobacco burst has been done since the beginning of guitars time.
So you have a mule and a BNG now I think I may have to start living my own dreams through your guitar collection although I think I prefer the cutaways can you get a Magnatone twilighter next?
I 'just' have the little sister crossroads (the cutaway model, cuz I'm a bit lame), but other than being of not-so-exquisite wood it is pretty similar. It is balanced on a strap. The body is lighter than it looks.
At a loss for words, I saw the thumbnail and thought some one mashed up a few ideas into one goofy yet pretty looking thing, then you hear it and man its a sleeper. Nice Grab!!
I have to say, hearing such distortion coming from a very classic looking no cutaway guitar is a bit funny and unexpected but if it sounds good, it sounds good!
Interesting guitar, it sounds good and has its own character. I would use this for blues and blues rock. I don't would use this guitar for all. I think it needs the right arrangement where it can show the character really well in a song... Slow and heavy cords and single notes that can ring out...maybe a combination with clean and overdriven tones, overdrive, fuzz, suboctaver... There are a lot of options to highlight this guitar sound.
I kind of specifically didn’t want it, for me this guitar is all about riffs, rhythm that kind of thing - I wasn’t intending to shred on it really! They do make a cutaway version as well.
In my opinion this little sister is dressed rather classy and would fare rather well in the company of a gentleman playing ragtime, fingerstyle, or even some slide guitar... ala Chet Atkins or Ry Cooder, etc. If I may be so bold, I feel the drop tuning and shredding with oversaturated distortion was a little unfitting for this classy little sister. Although she took the heat easily, I dare say I don't see her as a trashy girl.
WTF? Wrong amp and wrong style of playing for this guitar. I mean if you want to take it in that direction, more power to ya, but you missed the essence of this guitar.
I was expecting some clean tones and a shuffle maybe , but no distorted shred totally doesn't suit the vibe of that guitar . Geez Rob you are always playing distorted.
Listen,
That guitar is worth a lot more love and musicality than you´re putting in to it.
Have never forgotten this guitar since Yoni Schlesinger played Brothers In Arms on one a few years ago for a RUclips Ad. Sublime.
I remember that too!
My dad’s got one and it is gorgeous and sounds great. The bridge won’t go high enough to get the strings up where he wants it and that beautiful tailpiece doesn’t help matters. But I still love it.
I know you're a Bad Cat guy for the most part now, but i love seeing and hearing the RD1 again. It's just so smooth, especially with this guitar
Was not expecting that! What a little screamer!
Gary Clark Jr. Rocks this model and another one on tour. They sound amazing. Enjoy Rob you've earned it! 🎸
Gary Clark is an absolute legend and the reason I wanted a little sister! :-)
He rocks a wide sky p125. ;) not a little sister. Look similar though
@@Gaslight.Guitar Ah yes that's it. Love the top on that model it's insane.
Wow that’s awesome. Very vintage looking. Sounds great. It feedbacks a lot like Brian May’s. Love the headstock!
I've never seen a guitar like this and I don't know if I have ever heard of that brand. I bet a classical guitarist would love that guitar but it's certainly has its own vibe.
I still cant wait to see a hollow-winged Chapman V with F holes and some bursts!
The distortion pedal sounds great... how about some clean tones
Whenever I read the model name it makes me wanna burst out singing "cry little sister" 😂😂🎶
That guitar shreds! The feedback sound incredible. A shop in my area carries these and I might just need to go check one out.
Great to see some more regular uploads on RUclips, I do need to get myself into some other socials.
Didn't expect that tone, what a beauty, haunting licks
Congratulations Rob, that’s a lovely guitar indeed. 🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍
Hi, I bought the 'Step Sister' a couple of months ago and I love it. It has a slightly longer fretboard and a different head stock.
Hey Chappers,I thought a bit of Delta Blues would of been more suited,to emphasise the tonal quality.

Got a Step Sister…these instruments are of another world….nice review Rob!!! ~cheers
So you have a mule and a BNG now I think I may have to start living my own dreams through your guitar collection although I think I prefer the cutaways can you get a Magnatone twilighter next?
Wow! Stoner type riffs sound amazing on that thing😃 Didn't expect that!
It wants to go for real :) Nice instrument Rob. !!!! Congrats on, this one. I envy you right now :) :P
Stagg Music shop memories... shared between thee and me bud 2🥰
Fuck yeah!! I remember it well, back in the days of John and Nick… Matt Evas was my first teacher from the back of the shop!
@@RobChappers 1st guitar from Stagg...Marlin Sidewinder...wot a beauty 😍 😆
I love how this has the cursed no cut shape. Its so weird I want one.
I think it does something to the neck that’s Tonally beneficial… also looks old school and rad.
Not my my style of guitar but they are really cool. It sounded almost like you had a sustainer pickup system in it. Very sweet...for someone else.
What beauty. Love the tone.
Nice, thanks!
Great video. Sounds awesome.
A lot of gain means a lot of hum. I do suspect that guitar would suit a jazz or blues player best.
The new chapman guitars are nice as fuck , definitely one of the best bang for your bucks.
Those first NOTES, bro.
Happy NGD Rob. Wicked axe!
Does that guitar balance pretty good on a strap with the top button so far up the neck? Love your guitar chops, sir.
Hi John, I haven’t actually strapped it on yet but I’m sure I will do in a video soon :-)

Guys any suggestions for a name for my new guitar would be greatly appreciated 🙏
If Glenn has a younger sister, it's got to be done...
KDH
Wow
@Rob Chapman tempted to give open G a try?
At a loss for words, I saw the thumbnail and thought some one mashed up a few ideas into one goofy yet pretty looking thing, then you hear it and man its a sleeper. Nice Grab!!
nice guitar.i love the amp.i was looking to buy one but they are hard to find .
Honestly I love the RD1, very versatile despite its size!
I have to say, hearing such distortion coming from a very classic looking no cutaway guitar is a bit funny and unexpected but if it sounds good, it sounds good!
I love mine :)

I love those B&G handmade guitars… gorgeous ❤️😍 I like the cut away model but that’ll do😜
So what you gonna name her Rob? "Flit-ohti" might work.
Not sure, really need to come up with a cool name… any suggestions welcome 🙏
Rob, I've been thinking about getting one of these fro a while now! is this one the Crossroads (Chinese made) or the Classic (Isralei Made)
Crossroads
Happy NGD!
Looks great. No high fret access tho...
I kind of specifically didn’t want it, for me this guitar is all about riffs, rhythm that kind of thing - I wasn’t intending to shred on it really! They do make a cutaway version as well.
Omg, no shred.
The horror.
:) I see your point, it makes you go in diferent directions. Very much like an acoustic guitar does.
And without gain? Oh well...
is this guitar a hollow body or semi-hollow?
The name of the guitar from this day forth will be 'SlugFish'
In my opinion this little sister is dressed rather classy and would fare rather well in the company of a gentleman playing ragtime, fingerstyle, or even some slide guitar... ala Chet Atkins or Ry Cooder, etc.

Those opening lines had me thinking Eric Johnson.
How about “Erica” for the name?
WTF? Wrong amp and wrong style of playing for this guitar. I mean if you want to take it in that direction, more power to ya, but you missed the essence of this guitar.
Don´t say grrrrrrrrrrreetings!
That's a lovely bit of kit boss man, suits ya.....you should call her "the bunny girl" as you received her at easter and she's kinda hot
Dude.....what happened to your hair????
was hoping you'd play a SONG or two - they're the real 'currency' in music....everything else is simply noodling.
I was expecting some clean tones and a shuffle maybe , but no distorted shred totally doesn't suit the vibe of that guitar . Geez Rob you are always playing distorted.
Sounds Rubbish. Cant hold a note without feeding back. Come on!
