@@oceanberserker oh you know it was a total scandal back then, illegitimate births among Lords and Ladies especially. Dude is a hardcore gamer who has played all of the witcher games, elder scrolls etc so he was by far the perfect choice. I feel like this show would have flopped hard if they casted Edward Cullen like they wanted

Agreed. Probably why they split them up. Must've been scared Jaskier would drain too much attention in the second season and take the focus off Ciri xD
we just cant escape the female gaze. we need to march over this and have all male actors be overweight so everyone feels included. Skinny guys are okay as well. Must get rid of this stigma that only in shape attractive men are attractive!!!!.
That legit sounds like a speech option for Geralt though like a) tough talk, intimidate b) misunderstanding c) physically assault / threaten or d) not possible for him to do something like that
I haven't had the chance to play the Witcher games, but these clips makes me want to watch this series. Do I need a background understanding of the game's lore to understand this or is the show a standalone?
You've never played a real video game before if you haven't played The Witcher 3... the only games it even come close but still can't touch The Witcher 3 with a ten-foot pole are Skyrim god of war and Assassin's Creed
It helps you know who some of the characters are if you’ve played the games or read the books beforehand, but it’s not important story wise, story wise it’s a standalone thing
I hope I'm not the only one who was confused when the queen was alive again. I've only just seen this episode today. I don't know why it's not in order chronologically
Well for ciri it is pretty obvious she is present time for geralt he is a bit behind her after meeting renfri and meeting jaskier is i think a couple years before ciri was born after she was born i think he meets yennifer and for yennifer she starts at i think 70 years before hand and i think a couple decade or something is when she was under attack by assassin after that she goes into hiding and tries to find ways to get a baby and thats when she meets geralt
He had lost his best friend who basically told him to eff himself, had to slide down a mountain in shitty boots, only so that he could end up in jail. Give him a break! 🥺
They should of just used bluescreen contacts and patched in post. I can understand cats eye contacts being hard to deal with on set, but those cheap wild eye contacts they have on Cavill are laughable.
Agreed! A lot of people complained about the different timelines, but I actually enjoyed that part. I also appreciated the show not doing cheesy flashback filters and swoopy sounds telegraphing "this is a flashback in the past!!!" To the audience. It figured we were smart enough to figure it out. And really, once you do figure it out it's not that complicated. Season 2 felt a little less exciting to me because it was more linear. I still enjoyed it for sure. But season 1 was better imo.
Agreed, I saw someone say that this should’ve been more of a spin-off in the Witcher universe, like “rogue one a star wars story” because while yes it’s set in the Witcher universe it doesn’t really follow the games or books. The first one I think was better simply because it introduced us to an already interesting world that is the Witcher’s.
