Makes me feel free and in control. I'm obsessed with my twa I want no other hair style at this point in my life. I don't know if that may change in the future. But at this point I'm very happy. YES NIA! YES!!! I have the same sentiments. I love my short hair. The first time I cut my relaxed hair into a pixie cut I fell in love. That was when I really started to pamper my hair and take really good care of it. My hair grew back thick and healthy but I stopped taking care of it because I didn't like it. So when I went natural, I knew that I would keep it short. And I fell even more in love with my hair. It just suits my face. So I get it girl. I get it.

It’s easier to manage than having longer hair. I look at some of the videos of women with long natural hair and it seems like a lot of work. And it’s a long ass process.
I can't believe I'm hearing u say this because I just had this conversation about wanted to cut my hair again . I thought I would have enjoyed growing my hair, but I'm not. I miss my cut and it does make me happier and its super easy. Thks I don't feel guilty anymore lol.
Layllen I get what you mean. I felt the same about my head too. So the time I did cut it (2 years ago) my mom gave me a tapered look and I loved it. So perhaps if you ever decide to cut it, perhaps shaping it will fit you best.

I came to this same conclusion after growing my hair out for less than 2 years. I cut it back to a twa and this was in 2004. Haven't had long, loose hair since! Wore my twa for a few years, locked it for 10 years and now back to a buzz cut now that I rock blonde. That's also a major plus - all of the fun I get to have with color. The short blonde 'do is just more stylish for me TO me and fits my aesthetic much better. I also agree that I just enjoy my hair MORE because it fits my lifestyle while many women are trying to make their lifestyle fit their hair. Meanwhile all of Saturday is spent on hair. I wasn't able. I'll be rocking out the rest of my days with my buzzcut and happily experimenting with my blonde shades. I don't have to worry about damage since I have a fresh, new cut every two weeks.
So I've been in a Twa for 3 years now and honestly I loved it as I always had long hair but it was so much simpler and easier with short hair. However, this July/August I decided to start growing my hair back out but I keep it braided or crocheted because otherwise I know I'll cut it again but I feel you on this! My goals are just healthy hair, no matter what length it is.

I big chopped in 2017 after watching your videos. I've let my hair grow hoping to do puffs, buns etc. The TWA worked for me and I was more satisfied with it. I don't have the nerves to cut my hair myself, but I'm waiting on my barber to open up. This quarantine has given me ample time to experiment with this awkward length. I have low density/fine hair and the extra length accentuates the thinness. I'm going back to the tapered TWA which I find to be "elegance with an edge". I want healthy looking hair and my hair looks its best short. That's my reality. We can't always do what others do because it's cute. At any rate, your hair looks great! I'd like to see an updated wash and go! Thanks.....I needed this video! I can't wait to get to my barber!!

It is very liberating!! I cut mine in May of this year after (16) years. After having waist length locs, I am very much enjoying my loose short natural tapered hair! ^_^. Hope you're still enjoying it.

Yes I can so relate to the idea of having the hair vs the reality of having taking care of it. I've had a taper for a few years now and it's so nice to be able to wash and go! As long as it's cut, it always look fabulous. You look so gorgeous with your cut! As another commenter said, the longer hair was distracting from your beautiful face.

This is me now. I am currently trying to grow mine out but its a struggle. I have two younger children and I dont have the time it takes to maintain it anymore. Protective styles start to add up after a while and im over it. thinking about keeping it tapered. you look beautiful with the short look anyways so no loss for u babe!

This is me right now, I couldn't handle the reality of my long hair. It used to take me so long to style it not to mention the expensive hair products. It was so weak cos of heat and breastfeeding cut off my hairline so I decided to just chop it off. I feel so much better and liberated now. You look really good.

It’s important not to bash the people who want long natural hair (not that anyone here is). It’s not really vanity...it’s just for most Black girls, it was understood that waist length hair was never going to be an option. I mean, it wasn’t even a dream. So, that’s what I see as the driving force of growing long hair for most of us. It’s nice to know that we have an option to wear our natural hair long or short now. It use to be that short hair meant that you just couldn’t grow hair. To watch Black women just shave their heads knowing that they can grow it back long if they want to.....now that’s progress!!!!

This is me now. I am currently trying to grow mine out but its a struggle. I have two younger children and I dont have the time it takes to maintain it anymore. Protective styles start to add up after a while and im over it. thinking about keeping it tapered. you look beautiful with the short look anyways so no loss for u babe!
I am so glad to hear you say that because I loved my TWA but have been growing it out especially being at home. I realize I don't want alot of length or a bunch of hair on my head. I always rocked short hair and I think that is my own preference. I do love short and natural for me!!

This is me right now, I couldn't handle the reality of my long hair. It used to take me so long to style it not to mention the expensive hair products. It was so weak cos of heat and breastfeeding cut off my hairline so I decided to just chop it off. I feel so much better and liberated now.

I used to want waist length natural hair too but I just recently shaved all my hair off because yuh girl is tired of doing her hair and wanted to try something new. I've always wanted to shave my hair off and rock cute little mini curls but I was afraid to do so due to me having a big head. If there's anyone out there who is in a similar situation as I was where you were afraid to try a new hairstyle due to fearing how you might look, I completely understand and am sending you strength

When I 1st went natural like 7 years ago the whole point was long natural hair...but I discovered that the short natural hair is where is at. Im like you! It's the best 😊😊
It’s important not to bash the people who want long natural hair (not that anyone here is). It’s not really vanity...it’s just for most Black girls, it was understood that waist length hair was never going to be an option. I mean, it wasn’t even a dream. So, that’s what I see as the driving force of growing long hair for most of us. It’s nice to know that we have an option to wear our natural hair long or short now. It use to be that short hair meant that you just couldn’t grow hair. To watch Black women just shave their heads knowing that they can grow it back long if they want to.....now that’s progress!!!!

I am so with you! I’ve been natural for 9 years and I’ve cut my hair drastically 3x within the process and honestly this last cut has made me realize I don’t want to big hair and all that comes with it anymore! As long as my hair is healthy the length doesn’t interest me anyMore.

I’m so glad there is someone following their own path instead of just following the trend of natural grown hair.. I had short hair and decided to have my hair grown but because I really wanted it back and not just because everyone is doing it. If you wanna have natural hair go for it, if u wanna cut it go for it.. If u wanna bleach it, go for it. Just do whatever you need and want to be TRULY HAPPY

I totally understand. I too just want to be happy with my hair. My hair was really really long before I cut it all off. I just wanted a break. However, I miss having my hair long. So I’m growing it back. Short hair is really easy to handle. Totally agree on that girl !! Love this style on you!!

I almost didn't know who you were with all that hair. But I love your short cut. My edges are almost non existant so a couple days ago I cut off all my hair, which wasn't much. Last attempt at growing edges. Either way I'm keeping it short. Thought I was the only lady wanting short hair! Thanks for the video.
