Coming Out of Hibernation to Ride Some Black Diamond Trails

- It's been a crazy Winter of freezing temperatures, snow, rain and now Spring like weather in the Southeast so when we had a break we decided to head down to Oak Mountain State Park and get some miles in on the EMTBs.
Having been to Oak Mountain many times we thought we's hit some trails we haven't ridden. Storyteller is a steep downhill enduro trail that's been on our radar for some time. As well as Tails, a new flow trail just opened last year. Both of these are black diamond rated trails so having not ridden much in the last several weeks, what could go wrong... right?

Here in Nebraska, it only took 2 weeks for 12+ inches of snow to melt down and dry up enough to hit the trails! It's been 40s and 50s for 3 weeks and perfect for good riding! I'm so excited for this season!

Yep, if I knew the spare battery would work I’d have brought my charger for extra juice. Then could have done another run of it all. I’m sure there will be a next time. Love going to oak mtn!
It has been a garbage winter here as well (Beech Mountain). Everything is soaked. Freeze/thaw cycle. I don’t think it’s EVER gonna dry up
Yeah, that’s why going south is the best bet.
So did y’all ride the squirrel catcher at the beginning or just ride around it? Was hard to tell.

@@midlifeshredder not sure. Y'all made a point to read the sign at the top that mentioned not riding the trail if you couldn't ride the entry move. Was just trying to gauge how hard that move was or if y'all rode around it...
@@mikegehard6402 Yeah, there’s like 3 ways to get down that. I took the more direct line, not the exactly how I wanted but I got down it! 😜
What E-bike are you on?
Never mind. Just noticed it. I’m actually thinking about pulling the trigger on that same bike. Fezzari timp peak comp with the upgrade 635wh battery or the Marin alpine trail e2. The spec on the Marin is sweet. I wouldn’t change a thing on it & for under 5grand it’s a steal. Same with the Fezzari. Decisions ,decisions. So other than the battery not going in, any other issues with it? Would like to hear your opinion. Haven’t seen one around my neck of the woods to talk to someone.
My guess is that it’s an issue with the adapter. Side by side it sits a mil or 2 shorter than my regular battery. I’ll get it figured out. Just don’t like finding out trail side.
Love the Timp, I’m going to be riding this for a long time! I got the Transmission GX build and hardly did any upgrades so a bit more but the value is hard to beat.
