Much respect man. We have some trails out here in NJ where videos and pictures make it look so easy, but in reality is super difficult and intimidating! Keep at it!
Sick video, I did this exact route a week ago and filmed it. I too thought the “Squamish-ish” was the other one then was surprised when I pulled up on the real thing lol
digg the vid. I used to ride Oak Mtn back in the day. My favorite was bombing down the fireroad trail that has the stone water crossings on old mid 90s hardtails. I have a friend that can ride there from porch.
@@_Aitch_ we would park the truck at the bottom with ice cold sunkist waiting. We would go up the single track on hardtails to bomb down the DH stuff. the days... My porch is about 1 mile from Mt. Sano in HSV. When it gets warm again hit me up we will do a loop.
Oak mountain is incredible. I've learned I'm at max a black. But I honestly have more fun on their blue trails. Have you done the downhill jump line on Johnson's Mountain Trail yet?
@@_Aitch_ it's at the main trailhead close to where you catch Jeckyl and Hyde. It has around a mile downhill with rollers and small jumps one after the other. Then when you finish you can reverse it for an easy uphill pedal and a 2 mile downhill with some fairly techy stuff. Lots of fun trails over there.
@@_Aitch_ im another local to oak mtn, I have so far to my knowledge ridden every trail at oak mtn and Johnsons Mtn is my all time favorite, depending on which way you ride it, you can a have a super chunky but fun techy decent or a buttery smooth fast decent with a few small rollers that you can get some air off of, johnsons mountain is regularly getting serviced as well, to get to it id park at south trailhead and take peavine road to the end of Foreplay
GoPro Hero 9 with little adhesive microphone covers. I cut out a little bit of the adhesive though so the glue wouldn't cover the mic www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08W21J1H7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Do yourself a solid and do a Boulder Ridge class with Lon (Singletrack Bike Skills). He can show you all the lines and coach you through how to attack them. Definitely worth it!! Nice video! Now go shred RideBham!
Oak Mtn is great for XC. Storyteller, Thunder, and lightning are definitely the best trails out there. The new local bike park called RideBHM is more my style. So if you like big jumps and awesome tech, definitely check it out.
@@squid_mtb So sick. I wasn't expecting them to have so much variety. Massive manicured jumps, loam, tech, prolines I was super impressed. I stayed away from the double blacks and prolines but had a pretty successful day out there. Makes me want to go back already. Also makes me want to get an E-bike tho 😂
@@_Aitch_ yeah man it's a dream on my ebike. Haven't ridden my regular bikes since I got it lol. I'm a yearly member out there so if you ever wanna ride let me know! I'd be happy to give you a tow and we could get some good clips 🤘🏼
@@squid_mtb what are your favorite trails out there? I think Kanuga and pinch & drift were mine. Also that set of 3 jumps at the end of Lower Eureka were fun too
ODI Troy Lee Designs. Had them for a little over a year and I'm still running them. Yeh you probably wouldn't have wanted to see those clips anyway haha. Very difficult trail for me. Gotta get a little bit better and try to clean it next time
Definitely a good idea to ride with someone when doing it. Especially if they know the lines. I think the hardest part is the first section when you come down the steep and loose. Most of the features aren't too crazy but I did skip a few
@@jacobcrawfordmtb Hit that drop in to Temerity but couldn't get the speed for the step up... so no wooden drop either. Stayed away from Crucible as well. Stuck to the blues and blacks and had a blast
“I’m gonna leave here right now, having absolutely zero problem with not doing it.” 😂 A lot of relatable material in this one.
Hahaha maybe next time. The features never look the same in person 😂
Yessir! Amazing bro! You killed out there man! Proud of your accomplishments and progress!
Thanks lol working on it

Just so no one gets confused Oak Mountain state park is not in Birmingham it’s in Pelham AL.
