It’s been pointed out many times as the biggest continuity error of the movie. A lot of it had to do with the film taking such a long time to make and the wigs getting damaged.

My own opinion here, but I honestly believe there are only 2 reasons why Winifred puts up with her sisters:
1. At the end of the day, she does need their respective powers (Mary - superhuman sense of smell, Sarah - siren song) for her evil plans where children are concerned.
2. Their mother (given how it was revealed that their mother’s scorpion pie was one of their “soothing thoughts”, and Winifred believed that their mother would be ashamed of them if they were openly frightened or weak, I believe the sisters’ mother had told Winifred to put up with Mary and Sarah, for like it or not, they were her biological sisters).
Good analysis… but All three are biological sisters, well half sisters .. they all have different fathers .. lookup Deleted/Extended scenes of Hocus Pocus and it will tell you .. Winnie’s father was a warlock, Mary’s father was a bloodhound (weird, lol) and Sarah’s father was the village idiot

It really did not occur to me that they were half-sisters, and it is a real pity that they did not include THAT part in the film, along with all the other deleted and extended scenes. I must also confess, though, that all this has made me more curious than ever about the Sanderson sisters' mother, whose scorpion pie was one of her daughters' "soothing thoughts", who taught them to worship the Devil and even childhood chants about him, and that "naughty boys taste the best". May I know what do you yourself think of the Sanderson sisters' mother?

After that quick jab to the gut, Winnie knocked Sarah out cold right in the street. Scared and annoyed with her Winnie and Mary carried her away into another person's house. Inside the house Winnie and Mary consider what to do with the weak link in there Coven. As the 2 sisters wonder the house Winnie decides on what to do and how to do it.
Winnie: Mary, take Sarah into the parlor and remove her dress quickly. I have an idea. An idea I have had memorized for years on end.
In the parlor of the house Sarah is still resting on the floor of the house. After Mary took off her clothes Sarah was now just wearing a Mamillare bra and granny panties as a type of humiliation for Sarah.
Winnie: Ahhh. Mary why is she naked? I ment, oh never mind. Hold on.
Winnie drew a pentagram on the wall, sprinkled pepper on the ground in front of it and laid Sarah in front of the pentagram, sort of slumping over on the wall.
Winnie: With all the trouble of life, death and troubled toral. Take this witch away and make her a Mortal.
Then Sarah's skin got pail and her hair got brighter.
Winnie: Sarah is not a witch anymore.
Just then the sisters herd a door creak. So they carried Sarah into the basement to hide. In the basement Mary was confused by what Winnie had done.
Winnie: Well Mary I must say, doing that to Sarah felt oh so good. Now we don't have to worry about her anymore. Plus it adds on bonus years to us.
Winnie and Mary both appeared much younger than they were before.
Mary: Ok now um, what about sister Sarah? We can not just leave her here alone. Right?
Winnie looked around the room and saw some rope on the floor next to a chair.
Winnie: I have an idea dear sister. Hurry Mary get changed into some other clothes.
Half an hour later Winnie and Mary were dressed more modernly in shirts and pants. While there sister Sarah was still passed out on a wooden chair. She also had her mouth tapped shut with 2 pieces of tape.
Winnie: Sorry Sarah but you were just, ummm getting in the way. While she was still asleep, Winnie taped Sarah's arms to the arm rests. Then she slowly awoke to see an unrecognizable face taping her legs to the chair legs.
Winnie was staring Sarah in the eyes as she was taping her legs to the chair. Then Winnie stood up to look Sarah in the eyes.
Winnie: Well girly, a thought for you to hold onto. When out on a hunt, stay out of other people's way.
Sarah:(Scared Groan)
When Sarah tried to move she looked down to see herself tied to the chair.
Sarah:(Muffled)Well this feels like fun. What's going on here? Are we playing damsel?
Winnie: Well witch, hopefully you don't have any plans tonight, because you are not going anywhere now. (Evil Laugh)
Sarah:(muffled Protest)Wait don't go.
Winnie: Bye bye.
Sarah:(Muffled)Wait I have to go to the bathroom. Don't go yet.
The door closed and Sarah was all alone.
Sarah:(Scared Groans)
2 hours later Sarah is still tied up in the basement, groggily fighting the urge to go to sleep. Fearing that she won't make it until morning.
Sarah:(Muffled)Oh my, why would my sister's abandon.
Unable to get free Sarah begins to struggle trying to get free only to stop and give up.
Sarah:(Soft Muffled Crying)
Then she spots a small knife on a coffee table in front of her. So with all her strength Sarah managed to bump the chair over to the coffee table. Eventually she reached the coffee table and got the knife. After moving the knife up and down a couple of times Sarah managed to cut her hand free. After cutting her hand free she then managed to get the tape off of her. After she peeled off the rest of the tape. She stood up free from bondage feeling victorious. Then she peeled off the tape and took a deep inhale of relief. Just then she realizes that she's naked. So she started digging through clothes in the laundry room for an outfit. Eventually she found a really cute one. A cherry red Mock neck Tank top and chic white Capri pants. After fitting into the new outfit she starts admiring herself.
Sarah: My my, this outfit makes my butt look..... beautiful. Do all women dress in outfits like these?
Then she notices that her hair has gone from blonde hair to Chestnut brown. And Sarah likes it.
