Metal detecting a Northern New Jersey early 1900s Dumpsite in the woods and an 1860s farm field looking for the memories they hold. Slow day but some New Jersey history was saved, and that's what it is all about.

Axe/Hatchet head is awesome! Those license plates clean up well with lemon juice, it removes the rust and dirt but leaves any paint if there is some left on there. Finding something big enough to let them soak them in is the hard part. That Manticore looks awesome, still on the edge about making an upgrade, but my equinox has been so good to me. Great video Jay, keep up the great work!

@@masonmercmetaldetecting I’m loving the Manticore, idk why I thought you were using a Deus II. The only thing I’m finding is the Manticore likes VERY slow and shotgun headstamps can be a 15 to a 55, 75% are 30s. Stef Digs has been a huge help with it. I went back for the axe on your recommendation, I started reconstructing the Jug last night. I was going to go back today to look for more jug parts but it is way too humid. Thick thick humid. Hopefully Thursday or Friday. I have a Jersey Head too from my 17/1800s site, one of my first finds actually I need to send through the electrolysis bath too.

@@jaydigshistory36 I swing an Equinox and Mason swings the Nokta Legend, its a great combo and we both swing them over great sounding targets. Sometimes i get silver tones over bent square nails where Mason's Legend doesnt pick it up at all. Seems like the Legend is better at knocking out those iffy signals. Im glad you went back for the axe head, those are excellent finds! I bring them to work and sand blast with a light grit to see if there are any makers marks. We have over 20 axe heads and i really need to get to work on a restoration project with one, just too busy with all the detecting! Happy hunting my friend, hoping to have a package in the mail by the end of the week for you and the kids!

Good vid. Loved the canteen and the hatchet was cool. Look forward to the next one.

Might be a minute. The temps with the humidity are getting to be a bit much, plus, you know, life... I'm going to try and do a restoration project video on the axe, plates and jug though I think. Not exactly sure how, but I'm going to give it a go.

That canteen was a nice find. I like the axe head and the license plates too.
