Stock Car Racing is good for the soul! Ole Marty Robbins raced at the 5/8'' mile Nashville Fairgrounds track. He would race until the exact minute he had to pull off the track and climb out of his race car and get in his civilian ride and make his way to the Grand Old Opry for his singing appearance. He even left a race he was like three laps from winning one night. Great Man!
As someone who also tried to balance racing and music at one point, and decided to lean into the racing, I can't imagine pulling off the track like that. Props to him for living the dream and also knowing what side his bread was buttered on
