I'm not sure if these are upgrades or downgrades from the previous spark models. I checked the specs, the new ones are more heavier and bulkier with same temperature, same fill weight. thoughts? a video comparison would be great! thanks for this video though.

For me, the price difference comes in the fill from 850 to 950. When customizimg any bag, it's always going to be a premium upgrading your down. I like all the zips from the foot box, arms, zips on more than half the bag. It's little things that make the difference for me. It's the same yes but also different in many little ways. I'd gladly pay $100 difference between the two bags for the 15° version. I'll use my rei discount code and get it for $519 plus my dividend. It's a win.

Its more an upgrade for the ascent series of bags.

yes you are right. But i think the new bags should be warmer than the older versions because they have a much bigger insulation behind the zipper than the previous versions. So in real conditions the new version should feel warmer.

Cheers for a good video. Is it possible for you to show a comparison between the +7 and -1 bags when they are compressed (non pro, regular length), in a video or pictures?
And, if possible, also vs the old SP 1 & 2 versions.
The only measurements I could find says 2L for the +7 version, and 8L for the -1 version, which I don't think is accurate when they are compressed.

Hey can someone give me a recommendation on sizing? I'm 1,84 m ( 6 Feet). Should I go for regular, which says up to 1,85 m or large instead? I tested the previous model in regular and it felt good inside. But it was in a shop, so no real test conditions. I'm kind of confused with the toal length as the rule of thumb says body height + 20-25 cm but the regular is only 1,96 m in total. But I kind of trust what sea to summit provides in terms of user height.
    Help would be very appreciated!

Hi, Thank you for your comment!
So the REGULAR has a MAX user hight of 6ft 1in, so at 6ft this should fit you fine. My colleague is 6ft 2in and he can fit in a REGULAR with a very small amount of wiggle room. Also having less space in the bag will also mean you warm up faster compared to if you were in a bag with a lot of dead space. It is worth also noting that the width changes between a REGUALR and LONG fit so if you are broad across the shoulders this may move you up to the long.

Thank you very much for this prompt reply! Well, is I see myself a pretty regular in all ways, I go for the regular bag I guess.
Thank you for the great video provided btw.
      Best wishes from Bavaria!

Tip for sleeping bag, do not fall asleep near cliff or tall rocks near deep sea, this may result in injury or death
