I’d say these reasons: 1: It’s a fairly harmless and cartoony weapon. 2: It’s a ranged weapon, but also more balanced, because despite having infinite ammo, it has a very natural cooldown. 3: It’s fairly easy to program 4: It’s fairly versatile as it can retrieve items and stuff 5: Somewhat easy to use as they often cover a good amount of stuff in an arc And 6: It looks somewhat cool in action.
Every time you upload a video on a 3D platformer part of me thinks "hurray! He played another platformer!" and anotherp art of me thinks "Oh no, I hope this isn't the last one. There aren't THAT many 3D platformers...." and yet you still manage to find these absolutely obscure games and I love it! You, NitroRad, seem like one of the only other people I've seen that has the same level of appreciation for 3D platformers as I do and it's really awesome to see that. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what 3D adventure you'll take us on next =)
3d platformers are also my favourite game genre since I first played the first crash bandicoot game on the ps1 I also like: ratchet and clank, jak and Daxter, Mario odyssey, little nightmares and the uncharted games
Heres some 3D platformers you could review in the future: Sphinx and the cursed mummy, Brave: Search for Spirit dancer, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, Legend of Kay, Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2, Kya : Dark LIneage, The Tak trilogy
Even with those dry-ass lips and magnificently yellow teeth? xD First time i saw his face and went like "well i got the dry lips look down, but he's got me beat in yellowness of the teeth." :P
Hey Nitro! Would you ever consider checking out Deadly Creatures on Wii? Not a platformer, but it's a pretty unusual and unique game since you play as a tarantula and a scorpion. Not exactly the cutesy animal protagonists we normally see in games.
I saw that as a trailed in the demo section of an Xbox game, and I have no idea what to make of it. But now with this review my question will be answered.
You know what they say: the more the merrier! You know what they say: the more the merrier! You know what they say: the more the merrier! You know what they say: the more the merrier! You know what they say: the more the merrier! You know what they say: the more the merrier!
Tell you the truth. This game as a child made my days. As a child I mean so dumb that I barely could understand the tutorials. So maby I was a little too young for it. But a few years ago my friend cleaned dust off his old Xbox and took his little cousin to play tork. It fascinated that bratt as much as it fascinated me. So I realized that tork is actually, a kids game. I know mind blowing. Lmao.
Don’t know what is but I’m always attracted to these kind of 3d platformers probably because it’s my favourite game genre with crash being my favourite the transforming into different creatures actually looks quite fun, I even like the look of ruff trigger and don’t mind it is like a rip off a ratchet and clank game
Never got a chance to play this. The original Xbox is region locked; this game was released in USA only and has never been re-released on any system, not even digitally. I expect this is going to be one of those games lost to time.
i played it i have a modded original xbox with over 1000 games on it N64 and others tork found at random when opened the disk tray never used it before cause all the games were on the system
"Get a load of this is" nowhere near as bad as "You know what they say, the more the merrier!", which is ironic since that line is also spoken by Eggman.
That insane breakdown you had over Beaver Bother? I feel that. I feel that in the deepest depths of my soul. The man I was before completing DK64 101% and the man I am now are two entirely different people.
I have noticed something that's very common with B grade platformers, a Good chunk of them use character transformations. I find it cool, but also frustrating whenever they don't add anything substantial to the plot. It's like, "Oh I can turn into monsters now, okay then." I also find it as a bit of an annoying crutch kind of like how you feel about Vehicle sections in Platformers. I could think of many other different ways to unlock hidden secrets. My Current idea would be like gather up a bunch of animals, the gather about at your feet and kind of travel with you like Silver stars from, Super Mario 64 DS, Can't be hurt but can be lost. They wouldn't be to hard to grab. After you get a certain number would have them bust into the secrets. And for other sections like the gliding sections of this game, why not hold onto a pteranodon or something like that.
Thanks to your channel I'm discovering a lot of XBox games. This is mainly due to the fact that no one I knew ever owned an original XBox outside of a very select few and even then it was only for Halo.
Love the graphic style and animation of this game, but damn.... droppin' the ball on gameplay something fierce. Cool channel btw, you earned a new sub.
Changing to the animals was cool but the visuals of the game is what really drew me in as a kid. One of the first video games that actually made me gamer 😁
I remember that game and I remember taking ages just to get to the future world. That along with Sudeki, fable and voodoo vince was my childhood man. Shame the xbox caught fire.
I'd say the only thing this game had going for it was the art direction/illustrations. Other than that, it seems like a "Baby's First Adventure" for some kids back then.
Amazing video, Nitro, just as always. I've always loved the videos you make and this one is absolutely no exception. You are well deserved of the Number 4 spot on my Top 10 Favorite RUclipsrs, and I've got a lot to compare you to.
Completely unrelated, I actually remember hearing about Tork in an issue of GameInfarcer (an old gag section of GameInformer I haven't seen in a while) where someone was making a Brittany Spears game out of spite that Microsoft canceled Tork. This game was, I think, completely fake, but the fact Tork actually ended up released surprises me.
I'm not sure how open you are to suggestions these days, but a short and free little RPG I highly recommend is this amazing game called Barley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden. It's a game that simply started as a joke, but then somehow managed to evolve into something truly amazing and worth playing. The music, writing, and game play are all spot on and you'll have as much fun enjoying the story as you will fighting enemies. Seriously, play it. You won't regret it.
I recently found your channel because of your Rayman videos. I must say you are pretty "Rad". I would love to see videos on origins and legends. Especially legends. Its my favourite game of all time
It's funny. Growing up I used to call this a ripoff of the Tak games. Then I played it lol. It's pretty unique for what it is! It's not really a very good game imo, but it still is pretty creative
You should do a video about the Hugo Series. I remember back in the day everyone had at least one "Hugo the Troll" game on their PS1 or PS2. I don't particularly remember them being good (in fact I barely remember them at all) but there must be a reason why there's 25 games in the series of which the latest is but 2 years old. And there must also be a reason why I haven't heard anything about the series even though just two years ago they released a game.
Plot Twist: "You'll be nothing but a wreck when I'm done!" is referring to the player's sanity after hearing that line repeated so often.
What is with all these obscure games and boomerangs?
Tasmanian tiger? Thought that that was pretty popular in 2002-5 era.
ShagStars Productions Also Kao the Kangaroo
I guess they *just keep coming back* to the same idea.
I’d say these reasons:
1: It’s a fairly harmless and cartoony weapon.
2: It’s a ranged weapon, but also more balanced, because despite having infinite ammo, it has a very natural cooldown.
3: It’s fairly easy to program

I'm pretty sure they mean Tork IS a prehistoric punk, not that they invented a new aesthetic.

Only games I'd add to that list are Tonic Trouble and the 2004 Astro Boy PS2 game.
I'd also add SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom. It's suprisingly good.
This list needs more Pac-Man World 2.
The Shotgun Gamer That games not quite as obscure as the above mentioned games
iain2k7 True, but he still needs to review it.
For a sec I thought this was Tak.

NitroRad is conventionally attractive.

No really... HE'S BASICALLY EGGMAN.

ive been binge watching you lately so this made my night
I have been looking for this game for years. I knew your channel would be the type to cover it, I was hoping it wasn't just a fever dream.
That insane breakdown you had over Beaver Bother? I feel that. I feel that in the deepest depths of my soul. The man I was before completing DK64 101% and the man I am now are two entirely different people.
I know it must be getting old to see a bunch of video suggestions, but one video I would love to see is one over Kao the Kangaroo 2!
OH MY GOSH, I played that game! I would love to see Nitro Rad do a review of it! :D
Same here, I played that as a kid but I know it's kinda mediocre. I'd like to see what he thinks of it.
I have noticed something that's very common with B grade platformers, a Good chunk of them use character transformations. Love that Hoodstomper theme playing in the background

I'd never heard of this, and now I see why! Nice job :)
I remember this game being awesome as a kid
i grew up with this game, so i have an awful lot of nostalgia for it. i can't really say it's bad because of that. flawed, sure, but not bad
Love the graphic style and animation of this game, but damn.... droppin' the ball on gameplay something fierce. Cool channel btw, you earned a new sub.

Though you do mention Mario and sonic too much x.x
I love your channel. I grew up with all of those xbox games. Keep it up!
Seeing you talk about obscure 3D Platformers is what made me subscribe in the first place and I'm happy to see another one of these from you :D
I played this game a ton as a kid but apparently never got past the 2nd level. Not because of difficulty, I just never bothered finishing it.
+1 for the Rayman 3 soundtrack
Keep up the fantastic work, Rad!
Tork sounds and it’s forest level looks like a Walmart version of Tak and the Power of Juju trilogy.
the "you'll be nothing but a wreck when i'm done" guy even SOUNDS like SA1 eggman jesus

I gotta disagree with this review. I absolutely loved Tork! IMO it's a great platformer.

Never mind, I saw some other comments. It's from Rayman 3.
Glad to see I'm not the only one traumatized by Beaver Bother.
I love the art direction anyway :)
I grew up with this game, I can't believe some other human being out there knows this exists!
