War has become a form of Art yet it's a form of art people don't want to know about! If art is a form of life for a person, then war is art for a soldier!
I know of people from Romania, America, Israel, thoughout Europe and even Australlia who mnaged to to buy it. All else fails, you can download the albums legally from the Sabaton website. You quite clearly can access the internet, so you don't really have an exuse.
Which is one song over three war themed albums and five albums all in all. Fist For Fight, Metalizer, Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus and The Art of War.
I bought every Sabaton 'cept Attero Dominatus, but I'll get that one as well. Them guys playing at small venues is correct, I met them at a Jam Session (secret gig) in a venue called "Die Halle" in Frankfurt am Main and dude, that's a really small location, but I kinda love it. Had a friendly short chat with their bass-player Pär..:)
If anyone has read the book series "His dark Materials" better known as "northern lights" or "the golden compass" you will probably notice some similarities with the lyrics. by the way, I strongly recommend this series. If you saw the film you might think it's crap but it's hardly got anything to do with the book, and the following two are just as brillant. type 7734 into a calculator and turn it round. it will read "hell"
The Spartans may of never actually fought Rhinos or giant ogre men but it still was a bad ass moment in history none the less. Hell Spartans may of even been able to hold them back if there were rhinos, ogre men, and other strange creatures the director thought to throw on the bandwagon just for shits and giggles.
@softchalklat I think your right about this...So it's a great title by the band when I think about it and great depiction by you or anyway knowledge cheers
7734 3+4=7 (last 2 united and 2 became 1): then gives 777 -111 (111 they perish in flames) 777-111=666 Not to mention 7734 upside down is "Hell." It's basically a song about dying and going to either heaven or hell.
The only real reality in the movie is the fact the battle occured. It's good that we still remember battles from so long ago I guess, even this one had effects that we feel today.
I think the one thing the movie got really wrong that I don't like (the fantasy part is good because its a movie) is that it focuses on the individuals so much. The only reason Spartan lasted as long as they did was because they worked together as 1 unit, 1 body. I just think the movie shows too much of them running off fighting by themselves, etc. That said, it was a good fictional movie and this song is great.
2000 other greeks also left, guarding the passeges, but they fleet after the treason from Ephialtis. As a man once said: Heroes die like Greeks. Spartans there, stayed guarding the passege, while their town was still safe to the north, guarding the rest of greece and of its civilazation, where the Roman civil. has as an origin and from the Roman, the rest of the Europian colture.
@trajan5776 exactly the film is in error when its said to "never retreat", When actually what they really would say is to never "dessert and take flight in fear of battle" and to only retreat when the Strategos ordered them too.. A deserting spartan who awol would be disowned by his family and even "killed" by both his male and female relatives for bringing shame on the family honor. Some would join in service to other Greek states while in exile, rather then return home and face his mother.
@Xullern well if i am correct. the movie 300 is based off a comic book. and ya i know all about the real history of thermopaly. but rhino's and shrek was from the comic book. i think so no bad come backs
what isn't well represented in 300 is the fact that their were 10'000 Athenians fighting beside the Spartans, they aren't to be seen doing anything in this movie.
If people I know have been able to buy them in Romania, living in Israel is no excuse. If you have or have access to a credit card, you can download their stuff legally from the official website.
7734 is HELL upside down and the last sentence is also nice "We last 2united and 2 became 1" 77(3+4) = 777 and then "111 perished in flames" 777-111 = 666 This clue and som otheres tell me its about the divine battle
@Obasiliasfilosofos Actually Xerxes invaded because of the loss his father suffered at Marathon 10 years before at the hand of Athens. He wanted to finishe the job his father started after the Ionian and crush all who supported it, and in the process maybe expand his empire.
I also thought of something else. 7734. The last two united (34). Two became one (77 + 34). 111 perished in flames. (77 + 34) - 111 = 0. So, we can come up with either no survivors (0), and we can also come up with the devil (666). I actually wonder if Sabaton thought about being able to get two answers from that.
@Frostwolf7 Could be, initially. I was referring to those + Demophilus who stayed with the Spartans. It's not a big deal, in any case. The numbers of the Persians, however, are acknowledged by modern mainstream historians to be grossly exaggerated, with the actual number of Xerxes' army at 100,000 maximum, many of whom did not participate in the assault of the Thermopiles. This in no way diminishes the heroism of the Spartans. On the contrary - it increases.
Igor Balthazar Actually, they're right. I don't know if they're bible bashing, i'm not, i'm not even Christian. TO the contrary, i love this song. But that's exactly what this song is about. It's not meant to be taken so seriously though... but it DOES result in 666. They're not the first to do this, either, this set of numbers (7734) has been used to mean Hell for decades.
@Xullern Yeah, but another fact:the spartans did not win the war or turn the tide and they had some reinforcements with. Also, they would wear armor, and never broke ranks, which would have been suicide as spartan, just like everybody else fought in a phalanx formation.
@Xullern if you look on the other hand, spartans, as all greek, Had El with their side and they had some special powers too... so they could hold back the beasts(nephelim)...;)
@1993Metalmaniac Screw the Movie. There were 300 Spartans including Leonidas one of the two kings of Spartan that time. (Spartans' law say that there were two kings, at the same time, one going to war and one for preparetions for war - peace..) Persian army had arround 800 000, including those who were left behind at fotresses throughtout the empire. Greek army had arround 5 to 7 thousands. When the Greeks retreated, arround 1000 left, 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians
And the last part of the song: The last two united and two became one/ one hundred eleven has perished in flames. The last two of 7734 are 3 and 4. 3+4=7 777 - 111 (perished in flames)= 666 :]
about the 7734 "hell" thing, ever heard of song irony? ^_^ about them singing of heaven etc..sabaton are kinda ironic in most song =D thats why we love em,eh? ^^
@Ognamus Don`t know about nordic, but slavic languages are doing very well. Even though there are many words connected with technology, etc. - slavs can communicate with each other like no other nations. Especially groups e.g. Czechs with Poles, Ukrainians and Sorbs (Western Slavs from Germany).
lol yeah i just noticed it...thats why i added the 'oh nvm i got it' thing at the end. i still don't see what this song is about (not hell, as in all the other lyrics)
well they did have Socrates, wich is in my eyes just a great man (regardless of devine bloodline or no) in word and action, but it is proven that many greek were homosexuals, next to people who were really smart for their time, something to admire...in a way.
@ISRAELKING100 it is "hell" upside down its invers writing if you have a labtop flip it upsidwon and if its a computer well get bitten by a radioactive spider and climb on the seling
Haha, are you for real sunzu90? My guess is that you are young and has a romantic view of the wars of old, and if that's the case... I'll have to admit that I envy that innocense. I'd give a lot to have that back. Though, I do get a little of that feeling when I hear some music :)
infact it is a bit true. in a smaal cave you can stand witg 30000000000 people but just the front line can fight. the spartans had a very good tacktic ( see it in the movie). but 300 is a bit strong. i think more about 50 000 against 300 000
@panda1345 The Immortals were Xerxes elite troops but they got to that status before they reached Leonidas. In fact most of their previous "victories" had been against poorly equipped and trained town militias and farmers. So the Immortals were not that great. AND they underestimated the Greek resistance and were poorly armed and armoured in comparison. Y'know wooden shields and weak weapons
Sabaton won't make as much money performing live as you might think because they only tend to sell their shows at small venues with a low ticket price. They make most of what money the do make selling t-shirts and such at the shows themselves. If everyone downloaded, they would have no way of proving that they can sell any tickets at all and that's what cripples bands this size, not being able to play live because promoters won't go near them.
That's a myth, in fact, Spartan men were required to marry at age 30 upon leaving active military duty. And even later on they were taxed for NOT having children. Some of the soldiers may possibly have engaged in sexual acts, just as modern soldiers do occasionally.
Holy fucking shit, there isn't anything more epic and ear-wealthing than scenes of 300 with music of this GREAT band that is Sabaton
In my opinion, this is Sabaton's most epic song. love it!
Sabaton 4 ever !!
Kocham was !! ;D
5/5
Hail from America!!! Sabaton is the best!
Man, this film was both visually and in terms of storytelling just epic.
War has become a form of Art yet it's a form of art people don't want to know about!
If art is a form of life for a person, then war is art for a soldier!
Just epic !
and now your soul returns to Paradies !
That movie could just be described with one word, EPIC.
this is the best song from SABATON!!!!
Sabaton 4EVER!!!!! is the best!!!!! ;-)
I don´t think I can describe with words how good this song is
Huh, so this comment section is what early Sabaton fandom looked like. Interesting.
All Sabaton songs sound so epic
Svensk Heavy Metal när den är som bäst! LOVE SABATON!!!
Sabaton is great especially this song. I didn't get the part with the numbers till i read the comments below :)
Hail from Germany!
He also kept around 700 Thespian troops. The 'Last Stand of the Spartans' wasn't just Spartans.
I know of people from Romania, America, Israel, thoughout Europe and even Australlia who mnaged to to buy it. All else fails, you can download the albums legally from the Sabaton website. You quite clearly can access the internet, so you don't really have an exuse.
this song goes pretty well with 300, in terms of melody and power.
Which is one song over three war themed albums and five albums all in all. Fist For Fight, Metalizer, Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus and The Art of War.
Sabaton: The GENERALS of War Music!!!!
Yes, this is definitely one of their best. So damn catchy.
OMG!! 300 and this song, one of my favorites of SABATON: great video.
This stuff is totally awesome. 5/5
They translate it in the song itself... Creator of all.
Yup, these are realy cool lyrics. Also, if you haven't noticed: "7734" is "HELL" spelled in numbers and flipped upside-down.
FINNALY!!!!! Somebody has this song on youtube! One of Sabaton's very best! I just love it! Thank you so much, ans a very cool vid aswell!

R.I.P my ears -.- first second is not nice but despite my bleeding ears...
good song ^^
Awesome song! Great video! SABATON \m/
The only real reality in the movie is the fact the battle occured. It's good that we still remember battles from so long ago I guess, even this one had effects that we feel today.
"Or to you where IKEA come from"
I laughed real hard at that!
ive seen it in the normal version, and it was there!
I think the one thing the movie got really wrong that I don't like (the fantasy part is good because its a movie) is that it focuses on the individuals so much. Glad to see you read about ancient Greek history mate:)
well, not only that the battle exist, but there were really 300 spartans who fought with so many enemies.
and every other Sabaton song! \m/
best movie fro 7734!
2021 Get Ready.
300 its move tath show how brave humans are.!
@trajan5776

@Xullern To be fair the movie was based on a graphic novel which was loosely based on historical fact
Its a big matter here in hungary too. There is unable to get any of the sabaton t-shirts, cds.... :'( I will buy all albums when i go to germany.
I get the 666 part but the rest still leaves me thinking. thanks for the explenation though!
what isn't well represented in 300 is the fact that their were 10'000 Athenians fighting beside the Spartans, they aren't to be seen doing anything in this movie.
THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yeah, we all know that in ancient times civilians never died in war.
it's there :D just have to pay more attencion on the film when your watching
Around 300 Spartans + 300 Thespians under Demophilus, who stayed and died with them.
You know a bands cool when they have a song named after what you have to type in a calculator to spell hell.

AWESOME VID QUALLITY
That there's a wicked solo in the intro though :)

kmmnderkoala 777(3+4) Divine Numbers
hrvoje salopek I know that, but that has nothing to do with this.
@Xullern Yeah, but another fact:the spartans did not win the war or turn the tide and they had some reinforcements with. Also, they would wear armor, and never broke ranks, which would have been suicide as spartan, just like everybody else fought in a phalanx formation.

yea, if I remember correct there were about 7.000 other greek soldiers there, next to the 300 spartans
And the last part of the song: The last two united and two became one/ one hundred eleven has perished in flames.
The last two of 7734 are 3 and 4. 3+4=7
777 - 111 (perished in flames)= 666
:]
about the 7734 "hell" thing, ever heard of song irony? ^_^ about them singing of heaven etc..sabaton are kinda ironic in most song =D thats why we love em,eh? ^^
so true...
@F4lls Yes! It means Evil Metal God! Or in my opinion it does
Wow thx for explaining :3!
oh wow, cant believe I missed that! XD
@ainumahtar Yeah true and i foundout that they say "do glatem live" wich is evil metal god backwards
@Frostwolf7 Since early childhood, buddy :) plus the majestic Greek mythology :)
if you turn it upside down, HELL
@omarr9k I don't think so, think the 666 actually points that soldiers were having a hell life back in the days (and they still have)
Epic good quality, man :P
Cool vid 5/5
@tobiaswashere in the movie there where a few million if i remember right :P
lol yeah i just noticed it...thats why i added the 'oh nvm i got it' thing at the end. i still don't see what this song is about (not hell, as in all the other lyrics)
No problem.
What album was this song from! I've never heard it before! :O
All hail Sparta, ALL HAIL SABATON!!!
@Xullern fuckin right and yes there were rinos and elephants the immortals were a little played with making them look like demons
well they did have Socrates, wich is in my eyes just a great man (regardless of devine bloodline or no) in word and action, but it is proven that many greek were homosexuals, next to people who were really smart for their time, something to admire...in a way.
And if you listen to the lyrics, it explains some kinda of fancy math thing that I don't want to explain.
@Athonline except for 2 spartans one of wich came beck ( they were both injured and leonidas decided to turn em home)
wow
7734 upsidedown is HELL or hEll
@Xullern i think they fogut rinous and other beats like that cus i know that the persians used theam
@ISRAELKING100 it is "hell" upside down its invers writing if you have a labtop flip it upsidwon and if its a computer well get bitten by a radioactive spider and climb on the seling

Look! It's an Oliphant! 2:55 Mûmakil
That's a myth, in fact, Spartan men were required to marry at age 30 upon leaving active military duty. And even later on they were taxed for NOT having children. Some of the soldiers may possibly have engaged in sexual acts, just as modern soldiers do occasionally.
7734 means Hell. Input the number in a calculater and turn it up side down. Don't think to much.
