S.A.L.A.M Initiative is a non-profit organisation which specialises in community outreach and educating the general public on Islam.
While being an organisation which aims to produce content for all communities, S.A.L.A.M has a designated focus to new Muslims and newly practicing Muslims. Damaging media narratives which target Islam and Muslims and the resurgence of Islamic political extremist movements (as well as right wing political radicalism in recent years ) has left many Muslims/non-Muslims confused as to what Islam is on a basic level. From this angle S.A.L.A.M attempts to ‘deconstruct false narratives and reconstruct purer mindsets.

I can roughly translate it. Having husn zhaan means to have good assumption. .like if someone does something says something you always take it positive. To see its better angle rather than searching for flaws in it. And even if someone says something really wrong you think it to your self that he had good intentions or that he is ignorant about what he is saying. We should never judge anyone's intentions because only and only allah knows what people's intentions are.

I don’t understand why the muslims are so sensitive to pork but at the same time many so called muslims in western countries asia nd middle east consume alcohol .
Brother menk should wear his headgear like the prophet of AlālaaALLAAH used to wear instead of copying the arabs who have lost their identity.
Just my opinion so that sunnaah is promoted for other international scholars nd eventually it will reflect on masses aswell.

Muslims shouldn't consume any of the Haram things. Whether it is eating pork or drinking alcohol. These people who do consume alcohol are still being committing a sin. I don't know how you should be wearing the headgear, to be honest. I think he would change that style if there is something Haram to that style.

You Don't Know Me! Headgear is meant to b dignity nd identity of a nation.
Islamic headgear is amama/saafa but what the arabs wear nowadays is a Jewish identity.
What I meant to say is that eating pork is looked at as haraam even by so called muslims who consume alcohol, in the meantime it’s alcohol which is the worse out of the two as in Qurān it’s stated that alcohol is a tool of the devil nd eating pork has got its own health issues that why it’s prohibited , i m not trying to justify eating pork here but just trying to reflect on the mindset of majority of so called muslims who consume alcohol.

I ask Allah to guide you 'Mufti' Menk, you have deviated from the Sunnah in many issues, just the other day on Twitter you was saying we should respect the opinion of those who celebrate christmas.. allahu'l musta'an.
Even congratulating the Kuffar on their celebrations is haram never mind celebrating it and we dont respect shirk/falsehood. Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allaah have mercy on him, said in Ahkaam Ahl ath-Thimmah:
*'Congratulating the Kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is Haraam by consensus,* as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from Kufr, it is still forbidden. It is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross, or even worse than that. It is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realize the offensiveness of their actions. Whoever congratulates a person for his disobedience or bid’ah or Kufr exposes himself to the wrath and anger of Allaah'.
‘Umar Ibn al-Khattaab said: *'Avoid the enemies of Allaah on their festivals.'*
Anas Ibn Maalik, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) came (to Madeenah) and they had two days in which they would (relax and) play'. He said, “What are these two days?” They said, 'We used to play (on these two days) during the Jaahiliyyah.' The Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: *“Allaah has given you something better instead of them: Yawm al-Duhaa (Eid al-Adha) and Yawm al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr).”* (Abu Daawood).
This indicates clearly that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam definitely forbade his Muslim nation to celebrate the festivals of the Kuffaar, and he strove to wipe them out by all possible means.
*We will never respect the religious festivals of the Kuffar, that's like telling me to respect the idols of the Hindus.* Allah never tells us to respect Falsehood.
At 15:45 he says there's nothing wrong with saying "Happy Holidays" to the Kuffar on Christmas, he is promoting congratulating the disbelievers on their festivals here. Lets see what "Happy Holidays" means according to the dictionary: *Happy-Holidays. (Phrase) A greeting used during the Christmas* and winter holiday season to recognize the celebration of many holidays, including Christmas, New Year's Day, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, and sometimes Thanksgiving." - www.yourdictionary.com/happy-holidays
It's a shame that brother Muhammad Hijab and a Graduate form Medina University didn't challenge him on any of his deviant views, you guys just kept nodding your heads like some shook yutes (allahu'l musta'an). Is this what your Teachers in Medina taught you?

Are we not suppose to respect other peoples religion? Are we not suppose to not destroy their churches synagoges & other places of worship?Yes we dont celebrate what they celebrate but we respect their religion.

If saying happy holidays is haram because "it acknowledges Christmas" then don't take the days off from work on christmas day and new years. You're acknowledging them as holidays and you are taking the day off just as the non-muslims are. Imitation.
If you have studied usool al din and usool al fiqh you would understand this most very basic issue in a truthful light.

Show me where Allah says we should *respect* Shirk (like Churches where people go to worship Jesus and Mary). Does that mean we should respect Pagonism Authobillah. @@sadking11 Saying happy holidays is haram because you are congratulating them on their Shirk festival, this is worse than congratulating someone for drinking Alcohol (which i'm guessing you'd never do). Taking days off has nothing to do with congratulating them on their polytheism and misguidance... I never said *"It acknowledges Christmas"* as an argument so stop putting words in my mouth.

@Emin Al-Durkastani Islamically it's clear congratulating someone for drinking alcohol or committing Zina is Haram so why would congratulating them on their Festivals be Halal considering the superstition and Shirk that the festival is based on. Fear Allah, what kind of Aql are you using? Al Qaradawi's aqeedah is mess up himself, who has openly (and shamelessly) mentions how he himself likes to follow up the Music and Songs of Faayizah Ahmad, Shaadiyah, Umm Kulthoom, Fairoz and other women. (In the Qatari magazine called ar-Raayah, no. 5969, dated 19/Jumaadah al-Ulaa/1419).
You can't tell me you're throwing Ibn Qayyim down for Al Qaradawi, common akh.

      Shaykh Al-Albani
MM specifically said that is *not* what he is saying. You are giving his words your meaning (which is the worst possible meaning) to then criticise him. You appear to lack sincerity and you’re defaming Imam Al-Albani in the process.
At 15:45 he specifically making it clear that it’s to do with *being on holiday* (in the normal sense of the word) and not to congratulate a specific religious holiday. You are clearly distorting his words. Seek forgiveness akhi.
May Allah guide us all. Ameen
