This tune comes from the fiddling of Henry Reed of Glen Lyn Virginia and is called Frosty Morning (no Cold). Cold Frosty Morning is a different tune from Melvin Wine of Braxton County, West Virginia.

A bass solo on a tune! You have my attention!

I agree with one comment about the percussion sound from the brass. If the recording sound can boost in a real studio, that will be the best.

Have LOVED this tune ever since i heard the GREAT Emery Lester and Mark Johnson playing it (mandoline+banjo). So nice to hear the other instruments (fiddle, guitar & bass) joined in , too. Anyone know who the musicians are? Looks like they might be playing in a church as a venue...(?) THANKS so much for posting...

way too much percussion from the bass -- quit snapping the strings
