Agree with your sentiment, brother. While you were speaking I kept being reminded of what Tom spits at the end of his song Helluvit that I think almost perfectly encapsulates what you're saying: "Go ahead and listen to the mumble rap / Don't boycott it just understand if you eat at McDonald's you're gonna get fat / If you listen to garbage, your head fills with trash." I really liked what you had to say about 'biblical world view'. Ideology can also be idolotry. I see a lot of ppl putting that over God too, sadly. I see ppl get so upset when their idols fall short, but they seldom realize its only a matter of time before they do. Just starting the reaction, but wanted to say Tom has a song called satanic rappers where he quite literally talks about being invited to Hollywood parties and seeing goat/baphomet things.
There is such a thing as Righteous Judgement and anger that Christians are allowed to have. Its in the bible. As Christians we also need to lovingly share the hope of Jesus and warn others about the evils of some music. Great Conversation 😊
In the end we can never sell our soul, it was bought by our savior, and you can't sell what you don't own. May our blessed savior Jesus Christ be our constant reminder of who we need to turn to at every doubt we encounter. Blessings on you my brother in Christ ♥
You will get better at ignoring those comments. Especially when you accept there are just some people who aren't very deep or thoughtful so they reject anything out of their bubble. For a lot of those people they never grow out of it. It's okay, you will never be able to save everyone. We have agency and free will and those people will have to learn to save themselves.

I love your Godly world view! Respect! I love love love Tom and Nova, but they are not my idols. I feel you nailed it when you expressed that the most important focus is your relationship with God, and he will give you discernment through the rest.
I don't know scripture and verse, but I know what the Book tells me. Somewhere in the Epistles, or Paul's letters to the churches after the Gospels, I believe Paul covers this. It was about clean and unclean foods, but I believe it still applies. He said something to the effect that it's not what you take into your body that matters ao much as what you put out into the world. So in my mind this means that I can listen to and enjoy non-secular music so long as it's not directly attacking my faith, as long as my words and actions are still deliberately with God in my heart. As long as you are bearing Him good fruit, listening to Eminem while eating a pork chop isnt going to curse you.
@@DaveAnderson-yb5zt lol that sounds right. as someone who’s channel is growing faster than I was prepared for, all I can really say is that I’m human and imperfect but I’m determined to keep learning and living off what I learn because I do love the Lord … we will all just grow together in some way shape or form. Trial and error, I have a responsibility to lead my family spiritually so I recognize the importance in it. Thanks for watching and for the commentary!
Good music is always around in any genre but will never be found on the billboard charts today. You have to be actively seeking it. That's because for many people, especially young, music is not music, but a ticket to social acceptance. That's the "culture". The "industry" is operating with that in the forefront. The "culture" is composed of narrow-minded people who shape their lives in accordance to what is popular amongst the majority, so they can be accepted in the group. Those who own the major record labels, also own a majority of the private prisons. Those who write the top100 are hired to, not as a creative outlet. The best music will not explode. Chances are you probably wont hear of most of it. That's because there's like 20000 songs uploaded daily, so you could spend every second of your life listening to new songs and still not put a dent in the list
Also...seeing people who have only been following the Lord for a short period it's important to not judge them for swearing or dressing pervocatively or whatever. They haven't been bitten by the legalistic religious stuff. All they know is Jesus has saved them and loves them and when God decides they are ready he will convict them to make those changes. No matter how long you love Jesus he is shifting things in your life and showing you things that will improve your relationship with him. We share Jesus. We are not Holy Spirit. Only God can purely change a heart.
Struggle Jennings has some songs like God we need you now and a collaboration with Tom and others called In God We Trust. I really wish you would react to the System by Tom. It is 100% truth.
I didn't grow up in the microwave generation, so i listen to full albums when i listen to music, not individual songs (back in the day, we'd get high & just listen to full albums, each one an "experience", especially with ICP & twiztid albums). Gravestones, where this song was released, was probably my favorite Tom MacDonald album. The one where i said to myself, it's official, I'm a fan. Before i was just thinking i liked what i heard, but not every song, so i still wasn't completely convinced. After this album, i took him seriously & wanted his albums on day 1. I really, like his songs where he just clowns around, & is funny, too. I usually hated music like that, i wanted serious music i could listen to for various moods i was in. I was never in a "funny" mood, lol. I feel u on the music variety. I had the same experience. His hooks, his style switch ups, he is just extremely versatile, & has done every music type really well. Edit: Great take on secular music, idolatry, etc. Our relationship with Christ is an individual one, IMO. Some people can spend time with sinners & convert them. Others will be tempted & backslide. The Holy Spirit can convict us & help us know what is good & acceptable in God's eyes. Edit 2: I went from having a specific interpretation of the Bible, unwilling to entertain others' beliefs, to actively listening to satanic music, & telling my fellow drug addicts that the Bible is full of errors, & potentially leading them away from Christ, then returned home & opened my mind & listen to other people's interpretations, knowing I don't have all of the answers, changing my life to avoid sin, knowing mt limits, etc. u sound like u are in a great place, spiritually, & I'm so glad for u (especially seeing u begin to become successful on RUclips, also. I will keep u in my prayers & I wish u the best on your spiritual journey). God bless u.
As a lifelong Metalhead, since its inception in the 1970's, I never got into Hip Hop/Rap for reasons of either, misunderstanding or missing the messages that were being portrayed in the lyrics. Then along comes Gangsta Rap to truly turn me against the genre altogether due to the very dark and violent messaging and the disrespecting of women. Fast forward decades, to around 2017-18 when I stumbled upon Tom Macdonald through reactors on RUclips. I very quickly turned a corner and became a fan of his because of his messaging that aligned with my core beliefs. After some time had passed, I found other independent Hip Hop artists like, Adam Calhoun, Struggle Jennings, Dax and Jelly Roll, and others who all combined, taught me that there is a huge difference between signed and independent artists, and how the Label artists are controlled in every conceivable way and, in my opinion, should be avoided. Now, about two years ago, I started on my path to Christ. Since then, I have been looking for righteous Christian artists that fit in the genre of music that I am attracted to. Though there are some rock/metal bands out there that are spreading the word of God, I find myself more attracted to the Christian Hip Hop artists by a wide margin. One in particular is, Rare of Breed. Though I have not as yet, done my due diligence and researched him, I do recommend giving him a listen and possibly doing a reaction and giving your input. For anyone who does not like Tom, it's because they were you, there a perception of Tom that you hear, either from other fans or other rapper's, that hate on Tom. Tom brought me back to music, I was done and gone, and I couldn't handle the music anymore. Tom has brought it back to me, he is the GOAT, I loved EM just like you, but when he told me to bounce because I rocked with Trump, I did. Welcome to the HOG family We love you, and thank you for doing these videos
@thoughtsofapredicatewinner Doing good, my Brother! Been busy with the grandkids! 😁 I keep missing the lives, but I'm trying to keep up with y'all. I'm a mod on another channel, so sometimes we have conflicting schedules, as well.
Most are victims. Some very willingly though. Some fall into the trap. Tom avoided it all, did it the hard way, proved it can be done. Fugazi did it their way too, but Tom really took it to the next level.
It taking Nova 12 years to get out of her contract is a great example. The fact that Tom doesn't worship money allows for him to be happy with what he has. His goal was to hopefully make enough money to take care of his family. He has achieved that goal. Anything more is icing on the cake.
If you're good with checking out something that album exclusive, you'd have MUCH more to talk about with "Satanic Rappers". He doesn't have a music video for it but there's a few burned versions of it on RUclips.
Another under rated rapper is a guy name The Rep. Christian rapper that has some AMAZING way of story telling. You should really check him out some time
I find no discourse with anything you said Nelson. As a Christian, idolatry with entertainment is an issue. Every new song, every new artist I listen to, I pray for discernment. If it stirs my soul ugly, I know, and I walk away. I have listened to “Christian” music that unsettled my heart. The only 100% buy in is Jesus.
@@thoughtsofapredicatewinner we cannot escape secular. We can enjoy if it fits with the knowledge we’ve gained. I truly enjoy your channel and your thoughts.
As a Christian, I agree! Discernment is key and if it unsettles you, avoid it. For me, I avoid Eminem at all costs due to the dark nature of his songs. Others might be cool with it and that's fine. They don't have to answer to me but to our King, Lord Jesus. Love this conversation. Keep up the great work ❤
@@MellyGoodrock I cannot say I avoided Em, but his music wasn’t a real draw for me personally. I have my go to songs and artists….truly depends on my need at the time. Sometimes rap, rock, metal, country. Never heard a genre I dislike, but I do want some message I can vibe with

I just found your site and I enjoy it very much! Please check out “Blame the rappers” and “ Satanic rappers”, by Tom Macdonald! These would be a great conversation! #HOGfamily
I'm curious as to what you think about artists like "Ghost". Their MUSIC is just basic rock. But their Imagery is very mocking to religion. I'm not Catholic, but I can certainly see it as disrespectful. My teenage son is into them & frankly, it makes me very uncomfortable.
Id also like to disagree.this is not a Christ centered channel.if it was your channel would deal more with Christ. You mention faith and Christ in passing.Your talking more about music and not so much of Christ
Look..... When it comes to secular music the answer is Always YES!! First off, most likely God had a hand In making that music In some sort of way whether it's blessing 1 of his children. with the talent Or giving him the idea, it all Stems from god. Also, God has a hand in u listening to it because possibly there's a message u need to hear in the song!! Also, I look at it like a play
(SORRY CAT JUMPED ON MY CO.PUTER CUTTING ME OFF) I look at it Like a play. In play,s, the story or message is performed through acting! I look at secular songs the same way!! You can always find a message in them whether it's good or bad. In these songs, The Message or story Is relay And performed through Music and singing. Whether it's acted or sung , You can always pick out something personal that you feel like you needed to hear Or know, even if its as simple as seeing awful behavior and telling yourself that you'd never act that way or be like that... All this really helps me if I'm questioning something like that. I don't know if I explained it well enough but That's just my 2 cents worth!
Agree with your sentiment, brother.

@thoughtsofapredicatewinner
Doing good, my Brother!
For the algorithm
This was great. Sorry I was late ❤
You should really check him out some time
Altijan Childs Juric did a 5.5 hr vid on RUclips on Freemasons. He tells you everything about what is going on.
Everything in moderation.
@@jenniferclark8051 best answer! Thanks Jennifer … smartest way to go about it for sure
Never heard a genre I dislike, but I do want some message I can vibe with
@@jenniferclark8051 Yep I do to... all genres of music, depending on my mood! 😁
If we listen, we are guided. I asked Jesus to be my sledgehammer because I am “thick” and hard headed.
Common Sense Really is UnCommon - the "Common Sense Cartel" Needs "Super-Sized"
You are indebted because that money is a loan.
You didnt see him showing his ass to the music industry at the end bro, it was a super shady move imo xD
You should check out "Cloned Rappers", "Helluvit", "Blame the Rappers" and "Satanic Rappers"... industry related
#HOG
When you gonna do Buttholes, bro? Wait...I mean the song, not a rear-end. God doesn't like it when people do rear-ends but I'm certain that he's a fan of Buttholes. 8-) Blessed are the peacemakers and such.
Tom M. - “ the system “
Man, I'm glad you're enjoying this rabbithole, but you got it a bit mixed up. It's only getting better for you and others just finding Tommy Boy cause this is history for the ones who have been on the CA-NA-DA kid's ride for a while now lol.
Its not fear the devil its they are the devil aint no angels in the outfield referencing angel in the outfield movie.
Have you ever seen an artist where the fans have so many different favorites.looking at the comments everyone wants a different song. Tells a guy something
I think his song “best rapper ever” would speak to you.
It’s not an L take or a W take but rather your take, there is nothing wrong with that.
I just found your site and I enjoy it very much! Please check out “Blame the rappers” and “ Satanic rappers”, by Tom Macdonald! These would be a great conversation! #HOGfamily
Hog4ever ❤
Nova was a victim of Island Def Jam. This is part of the reason Tom is so strongly against the industry and signing to a label.
Cloned Rappers please
I'm curious as to what you think about artists like "Ghost". Their MUSIC is just basic rock. But their Imagery is very mocking to religion. I'm not Catholic, but I can certainly see it as disrespectful. My teenage son is into them & frankly, it makes me very uncomfortable.
He agrees they are victims. You even stopped the song and repeated it when he said "stealing people's dream, how can you sleep"
As you mature as a Christian you will naturally listen to trashy music less.
(SORRY CAT JUMPED ON MY CO.PUTER CUTTING ME OFF)
I look at it Like a play.
