I was 17 and totally unchurched all my life. I was an atheist in my youth. I was given a Gospel tract by a friend. It was just me, the tract.....and the Holy Spirit. I accepted Christ b/c of the Word of God presented on that very simple tract and starting going to church. I went to Christian colleges and a Seminary. I have passed out thousands of tracts over the decades.
So answer to the question....YES they are effective.

@@patricklacson That was a long time ago. I just remember it being actually a small booklet/tract with a big red heart on it. I do remember the author....Oliver B. Greene from South Carolina (I think).

If I print off 1000 tracts, even knowing the vast majority will end up on the floor or in a dustbin, and only One person receives what is written, and eventually come to saving faith in Christ, then I can assure you that tracts are effective. No matter how many reject the word, if only One is saved then it is totally worth it. Being disabled I do not get out much, and I indeed feel I am not doing my duty as a christian. But in creating tracts that my Wife or my Brothers in Christ can share with others, or leave them in discrete places, then even I am doing something constructive for God's kingdom. We can not use business minded percentages when we consider salvation over the effort invested. It is not about the majority that walk away. It is always about that One aching heart that yearns for Christ but does not yet recognize its plight.

I think they are very affective as I am one of those people who received one many years ago in the city It was titled "Creator or liar?" I still have it to this day I truly believe I did not get it by mistake as I grew up in an atheist home and I really wanted to know if God was real I plan to tell my testimony on RUclips soon

A great comment b/c it is the Truth. The Holy Spirit used a tract to bring me to Christ. No pastor, no priest, no counselor, no church or Christian parents. I get the same responses occasionally that reflect your "business minded percentages" comment. We cannot let that be the ultimate evaluation of the printed Word of God on a tract.

I was saved 45 years ago at age 23 without a church background after reading a Gospel tract. God's Word is LIVING AND POWERFUL>
I leave them in shopping carts sometimes. Many cart boys will be in heaven 💞

I was a rebellious unbeliever @ 17 yo. I was given a basically "fundamental" Gospel booklet from a friend and I came to Christ through that booklet. It was just me, and the Holy Spirit and that booklet. I had NO church background whatsoever. I ended up going to a Christian college and a Seminary.
I've been using them for Years.
That's how I first got Saved.
And Introduced to Jesus Christ.
And etc. It's still one of my favorite Gospel Tracts. ❤️
How were you saved?
I remember a pastor at a mega church said, "Raise your hand if a Gospel Tract is part of your story that led you to Christ." I would say about 2000 people were in attendance and about 10% of the audience raised their hands. I was pretty surprised!
Iam pessimistic to the idea of giving some paper of the gospel to a stranger but that is funny and awesome to hear

I’m kinda late on this comment but that’s good to hear because I was very into handing them out when started evangelizing and had some good conversations come out of it. But recently was told by someone that they have had no result as a pastor of church handing them out and kinda make me feel like my work and time which was a good amount amounted to nothing.
@@tylert8151 your work is never in vain if it was honest for the Lord! You never know when you get to Heaven you might find many people were saved because of the tracks you gave them!😊 Be of good cheer!
you know what? even bad written tracts have touched people!!! As long as the message of our Lord is present His Word will be what touches people not the great writing of the author! The Word of our Lord never comes back empty!
When I was saved in my bedroom l had read a track by Jack Chick “This Was Your Life”. Very effective. Don’t be surprised by the written word, after all it’s what God uses.
this is a VERY famous tract...Ive given out hundreds of them; very effective; both my gkids got saved promptly after reading them!
Yes they are very effective. I've heard of many people that eventually got saved because of a Gospel tract. It planted a seed in their heart.
It's worth it. Someone may be in complete distress and need it. I dont pass them out, but instead put them in parks and places people usually look at etc.
*_Anybody who sees this comment, please pray for me to have the courage and opportunities to share the Gospel with my mother and sister._* I don't have a great relationship with either of them, so that makes it harder, but I love them dearly and can't imagine the guilt and grief I would feel if they died without Christ.
I want to share Christ with them, but it seems that they think that I'm this "holier-than-thou" judgmental Christian (idk how much of that is my fault and how much of that is them projecting their opinion of Christianity onto me). so that makes it even harder to get through to them

God I come before you and I ask you to help me and guide me through my words and thoughts and actions and help me pray correctly for Kylee. Lord, I pray that you are going to give her courage to spread the gospel to her family, guide her through her actions and words, help her preach the good message correctly and with all of her soul. I ask you to support her and help her not to lean on her own understanding and strength but to trust in You to guide her and protect her from the enemy. I pray that she's going to be able to approach in a nice way her sister and mother so that they can get to know our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If it is your Will Father open their eyes to the truth that is no other than You. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray Amen🙏
The greatest obstacle to witness is to be judgmental, you are not Christ and Christ is still the Saviour. As much as it is in your power be friendly with them. It is natural not being able to witness to them but your Christian character matters most.
If you can't, your persistent prayer for God to arrange for their salvation is a powerful strategy.
My prayer for you is that you will not be an obstacle through your life style
may God give you the strength but remember that Jesus calls us to be a salt and a light in this world (Matthew 5:13-16)! So by your behavior, show them Jesus who lives within you :) When you try to talk about God with them do so with gentleness, respect and love. Ask God how and when you should share it with them. Have hope that God is with you as you do so. “The Holy Spirit will give you the words to say at the moment when you need them.” (Luke 12:12)
And remember “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.” 1 Corinthians 3:6-8. Tho we share the Gospel only God is able to save, so don’t feel down if they don’t immediately come to Christ. But trust that God loves them and wants to save them and keep loving them as well. send them a nice card with a short note in it and include a tract; easy and effective. u dont need to have a long conversation which could lead to an argument.
I use Gospel tracts just as I would used doughnuts or roses. I use them as a way to start a conversation. They do have the advantage of being a portable Gospel presentation if the conversation does not go as planned.
I was SAVED with a Gospel Tract. "How to Make Life All Good" by David Edwards. It was a modern tract. Since then, I found Chick Tracts to be very appealing because they are mini comic books and come in several languages and cover different religions and issues in life. You can access them online. I always use the pages from the Our Daily Bread or In Touch Ministries (Dr. Charles Stanley) devotional booklets. I leave them everywhere I go--on tables in a restaurant, for example, because I like the way they hit on different topics, so each page has 2 different lessons. These can really speak to sometime4 going through a hard time in their lives and point them to Christ and the Bible for further reassurance.

@@L.Fontein7 Last week my nieces and I were on a vacation, and we stopped in a restaurant for a late lunch. Even in her mask, I somehow sensed that all was not well with our server, Shelly. I just felt such compassion for her. With the tip, I included a page from Our Daily Bread. On the way out, she stopped us and whispered that she'd written a note...and the connection with us was immediate! The note, written on a napkin in a beautiful cursive, thanked me and said how much it was needed that day and how God uses people to speak to others, and finished with a request to remember her unspoken need! I shared this with the others and felt so humbled and privileged that God entrusted this dear lady's need to me. I'll never get rid of that precious napkin and the lesson it held for me that I've passed on to family and friends! Never ignore the Lord's promptings!
I am 10 yrs sober this yr and have shared the gospel countless times over this time. I have only used printed tracts one time (200 tracts) and I absolutely believe it had a powerful effect. Once you share the good news with an individual it is in the Holy Spirits hands. Never under estimate the Holy Spirit. Time is almost up and the catching away is drawing near and I pray that Ill be seeing a lot of people who I have shared Jesus with very soon. God bless all of you,

We must all be ready for the rapture, it is any day now! Jesus will snatch us away. I am ex-LGBT, and I know that I would go to hell if I continued in it. I also know that my divorced and remarried parents will die and go to hell if they don't repent and leave the adultery. For now, my Mom is a believer who goes to church and thinks that she and my Dad are going in the rapture. Her pastor is also divorced and remarried. It's a big lie from the devil that has MANY deceived.

This is honestly what the Bible says. The road is definitely narrow. If people want to repent from this, they have got to leave the adulterous relationship altogether and get that divorce to get out of it.

@@Jesusbride515 , I bumped into a young man at a truck stop, while passing out those tracts, who was witnessing and passing out bumper stickers that said 'Jesus Loves You, Religion Does Not' and we exchanged bumper stickers and tracts. I ran out of tracts but the bumper sticker continues to get attention many places I go. I placed many bumper stickers on vehicles that, I imagine, continue to bear fruit. Of course they aren’t ALWAYS effective. However, doing nothing is ALWAYS INEFFECTIVE!
Tracts also allow us to spread the gospel more widely. We can put them on the bus, train, in people's houses, in shops and many places. Sometimes the goal of tracts is to create an awareness of God and the gospel. We want people to see the message of Christ everywhere around them. Tracts can be a good foundation for other types of evangelism.
Paper is patient. I’ve heard stories of people finding old tracts and getting saved months or years later. I think pretty much anyone who cares about going about the Lords Great Commission will be interested in finding good quality tracts with a clear gospel presentation on them to hand out. God’s Word never returns void. (Isaiah 55:11)
If someone doesn’t know how to evangelize then going out and handing out these tools are a great way to get yourself out there. And yes it is called evangelism! It’s certainly better than doing nothing to further the kingdom. In my experience you will find someone who want to hear what you have to say and well some don’t. Don’t be pushy your not selling anything. Your sharing the good news with your neighbors, ie everyone! You seed and someone else feeds them meat. We are the body and we work together. We are not God, we are his Ambassador’s! Tracks do work 😊

The Gideon's passed out the New Testiment in front of my HS. I saw them while I was on the bus. I asked a friend if knew who walked home if I could have the one he got. It definitely was part of my salvation story.

Through Vista Print, we have passed out over 26,000 business card sized tracts. Very inexpensive and easy to place in various places. Not too wordy, just reminding them of the love of God and His provision through Jesus Christ.

never knock a good gospel tract. if it works, it works!
Different people are drawn to God by different means. Most people choose a method of witnessing that mirrors what brought them to Christ. Someone who was affected by a tract will praise that method. Some are touched by fire and brimstone preaching, others are won over by gentle gospel truths.
Yes, I am using the Gospel Tracts and my favorite gospel tract is the English KJV GO! Gospel Bible Tracts, which I purchased from, www.gospeltracts.org who is sharing the message of Christ with all people worldwide.
I believe he is right as when God was calling me I went to church and God seem to direct me to tracts for I didn’t have a Bible in my home at that time so picked up a few tracts on topics I wanted to know about and shortly after God lead me to a Consumer Distributing Store in Canada and when the person went to get the item I went for there on the shelf in front of me was the Living Bible and I purchased it and cherished it and still have it today and eventually purchased other ones as I matured so God can us all good steps that speaks to your heart if good tracts does it for awhile go for it in my story was in 1973 and this is 2019 and I am a born again Believer and thank God for His miracle of my testimony and waiting His return.
God says that His word does what it is sent out to do, and does not come back void! It also says in the Bible that no one can come to Christ unless they be drawn of the Father. If Gods word is written on a bathroom wall, and the Father has called the person that uses that stall, that seed will be sown into the soil of their heart! Use everything there is to get His word in people! His word is what saves,when sown in good soil!

Keep the developmentals vids going I agree with foundational teaching,how it is necessary in such a generation which stands in lost ,buried , information that is ,what one would call "common sense" type of biblical teaching for the case of the newest believer .. because..
I have been passing out and planting Chick Tracts since 1990 on and off. I hope they did indeed reach unsaved people. I believe some did. Only God knows how many were converted because of the Tracts. Hope hope one day he lets me know. Amen.
I saw a baptist tract recently and it made me sad to see the burden they're putting on people with the 1. 2. 3. 4. save yourself regimen. How is that not more work or striving than God saving someone through infant baptism or through the word and sacrament? The word of God himself does the work.
They work for sure for some, and even just one is reason enough to share them!

This Halloween a group I belong to made up 2600 tract/candy bags with a Halloween theme. We did a Trunk or Treat @ 2 big community organized events by civic organizations. We gave some to an after-school ministry to youth. We gave out tract bags out of our homes. Lastly, we took remaining bags to food pantries. As far as the "Trunk" goes...we bought a kit for $40. The theme was "Be KInd". It had Scripture on it and practical ways for people to show kindness. Very positive and colorful. There are several Christian kits available online. Trunk or Treats may be the new wave of trick or treating.

@@Lauren-vd4qe What happens if God reveals at The Judgment of children or parents coming to Christ through a tract given out on Halloween? What are you going to say to those people...and most importantly, God ? Remember...Jesus healed a man from a very long illness, in other words, a miracle. The only thing the Pharisees and others cared about was that he was (wrongly) healed on the Sabbath. They didn't care at all that something good and miraculous happened to the man. Don't fall into that trap.

@@1844JC In all respects...so what? Halloween is the same as all "sacred" or "secular" holidays. It's all about taking advantage of opportunities. That's what I see from Jesus and Paul...and other disciples in the NT.
Fact is you never know. What one person will ignore someone else will treasure. Our job is to do whatever we can to lead others to Jesus. Plant the seed and let my Lord lead.
Tracts plant seeds. Will those seeds grow? Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. God knows. Nobody else does. So plant seeds.
As a Christian, I don't have a problem with people handing out tracts, but as a rule, I never accept anything from anyone on the street. Probably half of the flyers being handed out on a daily basis just end up in the trash or on the ground. Keep your paper and just speak the Word.
imho we are at a point where anything that has genuine content of evangelical Christianity is good...live for The Bema
HINT: the BEST one by far is This Was Your Life by Jack Chick, its sold MILLIONS of them! its the only one I use, I order them by the hundreds! i dont leave home without at least 5 in my purse, and its my goal to place/give them ALL out BEFORE i get back home. u can hand them to people or place them SO many places for pple to FIND!! im like a secret agent placing them, and its a treasure hunt find for the one who finds it!
Gospel is known as Injil in Quran
and Respected Mary's biography is also in the Quran. There is one complete Chapter surah Maryam. (PBUH)
I say tracts are good, and the excited baby christian can use them, However, the baby Christian needs to be nutured & should begin to read scripture, I used tracts and had some success but the baby Christian should be warned that he may encounter angry hateful atheist & perhaps a exit strategy for these people. I remember the 1st time I encountered 1 of these and it literally shook me & my faith to my core. I would say it's ok to share with friends of baby christian but cold calls or street evangelism should have a mature brother with him to take-over. I never knew people hated GOD the way this guy did and the mention of GOD and Jesus got him going, luckily I was being descipled by a church staff member or I may have folded my tent and went home in utter defeat, it did scare me and I am not so sure if he didn't have some sort of demonic influence on him. I never spoke to the guy again, nor did I want too, this guy was scary quoting genesis backwards like man created GOD in his image...you get the point. Why get so mad at a God you say doesn't exist.? I was only there to help my friend replace the clutch in his car, I know I didn't deserve the wrath I got. This was the 80's I can't imagine it's gotten any better.

Some people give tracts instead of leaving a tip at a restaurant.. DONT do this.
What is the Best Bible Reading Plan for students? Chronological, Canonical, OT/NT? Historical or just Both?
There is no best plan. Any method that works for you as an individual is best. In truth when I first found God my plan began thus... John. then all four gospels, then all the new testament, then the old testament front to back, all in my first week. Then I read the whole canon again three times in a row. lol. Now of course I can be in any number of books in any one day, dependent on the subject I am studying. If you like more of a structure though, why not try One book from the new testament, and one from the old, every single week. With One day each week dedicated to Psalms or proverbs.

Ask god to help you
Ask God to give you the strength to talk to people. Let the Holy Spirit flow through you. Also, you can just leave tracts on cars, benches, literally anywhere. I’m excited to get mine.
I say this respectfully and kindly....but remember this statement, "it's not about you". You can overcome your social anxiety with practice and constantly making the effort to put yourself "out there". The Great Commission and God's power is greater than your anxiety. So many of our fears are simply focused on ourselves, not God. Tracts are perfect for you. God used a tract to lead me to Christ. I was totally unchurched. Somebody had to go out of their way to give me a tract. God did the rest. Be a sower.
Trust me I am not a very vocal person who approaches people but for some reason when it comes to sharing my faith or handing out gospel tracts, i become so bold and unembarrassed so this is definitely the Holy Spirit at work and He can do the same for you because God needs as many people as possible to spread His word to the lost. Pray that He does this to you because I can guarantee you it is one prayer that will 100% be answered with a resounding YES

No amount of money and time on Earth compares to eternity. It’s worth it if means a soul is saved and will spend eternity in Heaven with God.
Gospel tracts are effective and we need it in Uganda in the Luganda language. People have Come to Christ by Such, when you give English tracts some one will want to read in their Mother tongue and which is not easy to get.Send tracts in Luganda to us in this Phone if you have, because it's Not my Language. Yes. Psalm 5:5
God loves the world. The world is full of sinners. All people are sinners, save Christ Jesus. Thus God does not hate sinners. He killed His son for sinners, that doesn't sound like hate.
Psalm 11:5 says "The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates." And then after that it says that upon the wicked He will rain coals and fire and brimstone and a burning wind will be the portion of their cup. And it continues saying that the Lord loves righteousness. So God's words towards those who are wicked are pretty severe and saying that He "hates" them shows His heart towards unrepentant sinners who love violence. Praise God for His mercy and grace towards us He has saved because none of us deserve it!
He hate sin yes, not the individual but he hates the fact that someone would be unwilling to repent knowingly or unknowingly. You have to understand God is Holy and Pure so yeah he detest sin and can't be around it. So that's why he asks us to repent so he can cleanse us. It's not a matter of him loving us,he does and gave us his son for us.But now it's up to us to believe in his son Jesus who died for all of our sins and repent. If you're using tracts your probably not communicating the authentic gospel. People might convert but what are they converting to?
I remember getting those fake money tracts as a server all the time on Sundays instead of a tip. They were super effective in helping me make my mind up to get a better job. Still an atheist though....

@@subbiahjudeanand1945 Yeah, being crappy to a person so that they find a better job isn't a reason to celebrate.
And annoying a person into a religion is a bad tactic as well.
If you use a gospel tract to reach someone for Christ, please don't leave them on the top of a urinal or on top of a toilet in the men's room! I think that's disrespectful.

My group gives out thousands of tracts. I like Crossway tracts. I believe they do the tract "The Amazing Butterfly". One of the better written tracts...IMO.

I was at my gym today and approached the urinal only to have a tract posted right above the urinal. Very tacky, I threw it in the trash. Do i print out a piece of paper about what I believe and come to your place of recreation and put it in your face? No. Keep your religion to yourself.
