    1. Can't leave the emotional attachment with the product.
    2. Over assessment of customer satisfaction.
    3. Lack of catchy material based on current market demand.

    Kodak failed because-
    1. It couldn't become fast mover in Digital camera technology
    2. It was too much attached to the free results without hard work aka "govt. job mindset" from its film camera technology.
    3. It couldn't grow itself to a new platform and was busy fighting a wrong battle which lost it the war itself.

    If kodak was unsure about digital cameras, it should have atleast given it a small try at a small scale by using prototype cameras. They could have identified the flaws and strengths of digital cameras.

    1: it did not move into the digital world well enough and fast enough
    2: it had Not Given Any Importance to the Innovaters(and their ideas) in company about the changing market in future.
    3: Instead of Leading and Finding New path of thier own they wasted time on competition with others.
    4:these Type of companies are built on a culture of innovation and change. ....Which was neglected by kodak ..which was main reason for failure.
    5: One more Thing I have really Great Old memories with Those kodak cameras and kodak photos still preserve with me. :))

    Thanks for sharing the analysis. I had read Kodak story long back, wherein one of the reason of failure was mobile cameras. Yes, agree with you that led to decrease in sales. As per me, why Kodak failed was they were not ready to loose current profits to gain future profits!, as the digital camera could have raised internal competition of products.

      Mobile cameras are not main reason, even now in the era of 25mp mobile cameras canon Nikon Sony and lumix doing very well. Kodak failed due to not adopting a rapid change in technology.

    As per my knowledge Kodak company has
    1) Not updated and moved forward with Digital Technology rather fighting a wrong competition with Fuji film.
    2) As they had a huge market share on Kodak Film and Paper they were over confidence about these products which was a biggest mistake. They would have just transformed themselves towards next technology, today they would have been the same NO.1.
    3) Even though there internal engineer had made a First Digital Camera, it was ignored or no attention paid.
    4) Updating ourselves in life with changing technology is very important to be in the market, irrespective of market share.

    This video was made nicely. If Bitcoin ever replaces the conventional currency, that case study will be almost same as this one. Just listen to each point and compare it with an equivalent Bitcoin vs conventional currency version. If Bitcoin fails to replace the conventional currency, that case study will be similar to something else. But the point is that it is very difficult to take a decision while it is happening.

    I think they were just busy earning profits from frames and tapes....where market was changing and adopting new digital technologies....They were self warned about that but never done any practical innovations on that.
