This is crap! more like a BAD tribute band. I saw them early 70's and of course they were IT! Why don't these old bands just step aside and remember the good times? gone by.
I love the who and always will ..not quite like live at leeds, but like you said what do you expect and i miss moon especially on this song. Roger and Pete rock master, icons, experts, hall of fame have been so generous raising money for teenage cancer and still kicking ass. I hope I am close to their energy level and generosity at that age. Cheers to "long live rock" I mean "The Who" and their music!!
I’m actually pretty darn impressed overall of course it’s not quite as intense as the Leeds performance 50 years ago what do you expect they sound good and Ringo son on drums is excellent I saw this tour in the early 2000s and I’m glad to see that Daltrey still can sing
I love the Who Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend absolutely fucking brilliant and the swinging mic is pretty fucking cool luckily Roger didn't hurt anyone especially Pete and Pino Palladino and their drummer
Oh my GOD he looks exactly like my dad (forever in our hearts) I'm watching this with my sister and it's like we are watching him. He would never be doing this though was totally Greek and only knew Greek dances which makes this so funny to watch. :D I love this! THE WHO ROCK! Bravo Rog!
A welcome addition to their rigid setlist, seems they are finally introducing some rarely played songs.. This version sounds slower to the one they used to do in the 70s, 80s ...
The Who! Still rocking and sound even better then their 1969 performance at Woodstock. You never get too old to Rock n Roll! Rock on babies! "Never go straight always go forward!"' As my friend Rick Carr used to say.
@@haysfordays He probably has an endorsement deal with Fender (they are now issuing a PT Strat) so this is as close to an SG he could use, under the terms of the agreement. Simon, however, is not and HE was playing the solo, not Pete. Simon was on a LPJ. P90. Through a Hiwatt. Close as it'll ever get to that.
@@bryanfishkind5857 I had to pick one up. I really like it and think it sounds great. Was just going to try it but I think I'm going to keep it. The pickups are Fender MP-90's. They sound great. Wondering why they didn't go ahead and have a middle pickup as well. I have a triple p90 hollow body and you can get all the strat sounds with a 5-way switch.
I loved The Who, but this seems very unrehearsed, and too much reverb and echo detract from the clarity and drive. Listen and watch videos of this song, live, from 1969 and 1970, to get an idea of what they were. Live at Leeds is representative, but it's even better to watch as well as hear performances from those days.
it was completely unrehearsed. I think they might have went through once or twice before kicking off this leg of the tour. Most Who fans know, they neve rehearse! This was the first time it was played since John was with them and even then they hardly played it post Moon. They played this the following night after Long Island and then scrapped it from the set. Glad I was able to capture for posterity.
Not to be a Debbie Downer but Townsend's playing is really subpar here. He's only handling about half the leads and he seems all out of phase with the rest of the band. I think he's using some kind of delay trying to replicate that awesome Live at Leeds natural echo, but it's not working. Roger sounds good though. They're old.
Attended their show the other night and yeah, Pete looked like he just joined the band and was still learning the songs. He's stronger on the acoustic at this point. Spent the night wishing they would go their separate solo ways unless they were recording new material, because they understandably are not bringing much new life to the old classics. Although Tommy with the orchestra sounded great.
@@joedimaggio3687 I seen the stones in 89 and since, I went in 2021 and they're still kicking ass. They might be a little slower, but they can rock it like no one else. God bless and happy holidays.
@wsl ving tsun I saw the red hot chili peppers this past August. Prior to that, I saw them 5.5 years ago. They were much better and had much more energy this past August than they did back in 2017.
Now that's not a very nice thing to say, Tommy Seliger from Merrill High School. Did you forget your manners young man? Why so much hate? Not happy? Might I be able to help you so you aren't as grumpy at such a young age, dear boy?
Live at Leeds the best live WHO album in the decade of the 70s!!🪴🪴
This was brilliant. Thank you so much

Almost 80 years old. Let that sink in.
The Who forever
Was hoping they would have done this and Naked Eye when I saw the tour opener in Toronto. Thanks for sharing

If they played it as loud as the old days Pete would not be able to tour.
Yeah Rogers voice sounds pretty decent for his age
@@donjohn2695 how these old Brits keep it going is beyond me.
Does nobody else see the irony in a bunch of octogenarians playing "Young Man Blues?"
Don't rush it. In their 70s and still plenty of fuel left in the tank!
That's the whole point of this performance
This was quite fucking incredible, all things considered.
Such fantastic video. Thanks again, George! #longliverock
Roger is in great voice!
looks a bit silly twirling the mic
Ever heard of Auto-tune live? They use it in concert, too.

Zak's electric drums sound awful to me. Like a midi version. Meh.
Roger is great for his age though! Fine wine.
Zak starkey impulse est magnifique avec le groupe Who merci à vous
True musicians can change a song a bit so many years down the road. Magic notion.
I was there!😀

Not bad at all for rocking in their 70s!!!!!!!!

Hey, is Pete trying a new version Stratocaster?
He just won't strap on an old SG!!! haha

Surprised they haven't reworked this one to do it more like Mose Allison's original.
