Jesus... 20 kg is 44 pounds. I use 10 pounds, lol. I would rip my shoulders apart if I used your ball. But I'm not crazy strong, and I'm going as hard as possible, trying to create explosive speed. Not saying that it's wrong for you. I don't even know you. But I think most people would be much better off with a lighter weight.
So with explosive power work, it's hard to progressively overload the way you would for, say, a squat or a strict press, because you're training your nervous system to execute a maximum effort quickly and aggressively. You could be doing med ball slams for years with the same exact weight and make great progress with explosive power, because each rep is executed with maximal effort, and gradually your brain is able to recruit more and more motor units to get the job done. To put it another way, while yes, you are moving the same weight, you are moving it faster, so you have progressively overloaded On certain movements, such as a kettlebell swing or a power clean, you are able to progressively overload by adding weight and then staying (Say, if I'm doing a kettlebell swing, I keep the weight at an amount that I can bring the weight up to eye level for 8 reps, once I can do more than that, I up the weight)
@@arandomzoomer4837 Thank you for this reply. I was always concerned about doing the same movement or the same weight with ballistic movements like the Med Ball slam for an extended period of time but from what I understand of your answer, as long as I'm improving in the movement (more power) even with the same weight I would be making progress. If you are also able to answer this question I would appreciate it, If my programing prescribes 3 sets of 5 reps of a med ball slam and those 5 reps are "easy" now, is that a bad thing? Ive become used to the movement but If I increase the weight too much it doesn't move as fast but using a lighter weight like 15 lbs for example moves fast but doesn't fatigue me in any sense. Thanks
The ball is light it's 10 pounds that's why it bounces back so much I have the same ball but 20 pounds it don't bounce back like that when I slam it it hits the floor like a sack of potatoes
That's a pretty light slam ball, it's a bit hard to put full effort into a basketball when it'd going to smash you in the face. Try using a heavy slam ball that doesn't bounce, then you can actually slam it
What are you supposed to do with them then sit on them? New mobility exercises? Eye roll. Slam balls and medicine balls can both be slammed. End of story. No debate.
You need a slam ball not a medicine ball. I use a 20kg slam with no bounce.
Yep I agree, a slam ball💪

I totally agree with your point, though. Slam ball. No bounce.
Yes and squatting down with it through the slam to pick up not playing bounce pass like this professor
@Winston Smith 20kg is not hard. I use the same.
I love the way he said ‘let’s put an end to this. ‘😂😂
Good tips
Does this help increase punch power?
how many times a week we should do medecenal ball as pro boxer
Just once a week (in the beggining off the week) is great. Not more than 5 to 6 reps, rest 1:3, repeat till your reps get slower by the fadigue.
How do you breathe for this workout? Breathe in as you go up, and out as you throw the ball down?
Yes; inhale when raising the ball and exhale to better exert the muscles involved with preforming the action.
@@Jonatic1017 preesh!
No triple extension?
These are wall balls, and not designed to be slammed on the floor. Doing so will void the warranty. Slam balls are filled with sand.
Lets be real here most commercial gyms arent going to like you doing this with medicune balls 😂 unless they have a trompoline
Why not? If you use a blanket or a pad it wont damage anything or even be crazy loud
what size ball is this specific one? Thank you.
How many pounds of medicine ball? And how many rounds?
So..... throw it harder
Is there a progression to this movement or do you just increase the weight / try to increase power?

When i was a kid my coach used to tell us if one of us could throw the ball so hard it busts open we could skip workouts that day
Facts!!!
Need to get on your toes mates
Seems like a good way to get anger out 😅of

Dude needs to add some leg days
Every one of these videos has leg guy and there you are.
He needs to add some everything days not just legs

You look like a really buff Oscar Isaac

That ball is too bouncy.
who tf actually slams like the first one?
Lol why do guys never do the squat tho… Work harder
You're not supposed to slam a medicine ball. Go get yourself a Slam ball.

But if i don't have a slam ball can i use this ball instead?
@@elscrollo1652 - Yes, but the owner of the health club won't be happy about it. That is just my opinion.
