Carlos G. Let’s be realistic you fanboy. Do you really think Jordan could go into today’s league and put up the points he did back then? Don’t be a clown. Look at the history of basketball and realize that scoring averages have been going down and down because of more emphasis on defense and better defenses. Was he greater in his time? Yeah he was. Was he a greater player by today’s standards? Absolutely not. Jordan was, is, and always will be Basketballs greatest icon, so people will always think that synonymous with greatest basketball player. It’s simply not true

Kobe had same mindset as Michael. Obviously Kobe was a Kid at the times they were first playing. He seemed to want to push to get the best out of Mike because it would make him better. Alpha vs young Alpha. Play hard, spit your shit even knowing you right now don't have the hardware but I am coming. MJ respected that. That's why they became friends, ultimately why Kobe could lean on MJ not just about basketball but life. The phone always answered and texts got returned because Kobe never changed. His goal was to be the best. He was closest thing to MJ. He was feared and respected.

When determining a GOAT, you can't compare guys by stats, by rings, etc. Different eras, different rules....makes it impossible to pick one over the other based on those things. So, what then? The GOAT is the one who was held in the highest regard by the players that came before him, played with him, and came after him. The GOAT is a guy who never felt it necessary to give that title to himself. And the GOAT is the guy whose career had the most profound impact on the game of basketball.

I is a logical and correct conclusion when you seen them all play the game and have their proper place in greatness. Michael Jordan is that Icon that had everyone for the first time watching basketball, he had such passion for the sport and had performances unparallel to his own, made us watch in amazement at a human being outshining us all in a way that had us in awe utter unbelievable fashion. It didn't stop their, he even went beyond it and showed us he had more to show us, and that he did it again and again and again wow wow. That's why we hoped their would be a player to surpass him it hasn't happened til this day and looks like it might take more than hundreds of years til a player may elevate to this level again. In the meantime no one is even close to this, and yet the closes to remains Kobe Bean Bryant. I don't cars how many others have tried and failed at the attempt that definitely includes that one they keep trying to compare Michael Jordan to in Lebron James. He is nowhere in sight of being as great as Michael Jordan. Maybe close to Magic, and Bird but their hearts are bigger than his. Much respect to all the guys that paved a way forcthese modern day clowns that keep this nonsense going.

One reason Jordan is the goat is because he inspired so many all time great players of today and previous generations...Everyone with one of those special type games say they looked up to Mike. That's what greatness is..

Same thing is happening with Kobe. Alot of these dudes looked up to Kobe like Kobe was their Jordan, so you have to put Kobe up there next to Mike honestly globally you can say Kobe went abit higher than Jordan in popularity.

@@hectorpac1470 I don't think Kobe reached Jordan popularity overall but yeah he was close. Kobe was just short of Jordan in everything.. I got Kobe in my top 3 where as alot of people have him top 10 or 15

You should recheck though, outside of the USA Kobe was an entity bigger than Jordan, listen in the USA Jordan will forever be the goat and I get it in terms of popularity, but when a man of kobes stature brings the Olympics to the USA, being the embassador for the fiba world cup, having 3 statues outside of the USA that tells how much of an impact Kobe had globally specially in popularity. Like the players and people say today Kobe was their Jordan and I always believed that. To me out of my 48 years Jordan and Kobe where two players that were on a league of their own like KD said.

@@hectorpac1470 yeah to me Jordan and Kobe had the best games and they won doing what they did. They didn't chase triple doubles that compromise winning the game in most cases the later in the season and playoffs u get...They did what they had to do which came down to the basics of winning. Score and play defense to stop the opponent from scoring

As much as media keeps trying to push a battle that they can't with pushing LeBron in that stature as those two they will not succeed, nobody sees LeBron like that.
