- Driving in The Dominican Republic is nuts! The roads are wild and filled with everything from horses and dogs to motorbikes and huge trucks, but it’s by far the best way to see the country and experience the countryside! We drove all over Las Terrenas in a UTV and then rented an SUV and drove 3 hours to Cabarete through the jungles of the Dominican Republic.We also made a few pitstops for delicious food and views 😍

Fun fact: If you take on the tide and try to cross the causeway Lindisfarne (UK) at the wrong time (now this crazy stupid because the tide comes in so fast.) You are not insured and yet four or five cars every year get stuck . If anyone is stupid enough to do this there is a tiny wooden hut on stilts about halfway. You can sit in there for hours watching your car float away or if you don't get to that and end up sitting on the roof you can call the emergency services who will send a helicopter but it is in excess of £4000 - yep 4K each. So always check your insurance! Really enjoying this series... suprised it is so green ... beautiful place - thanks for taking us :)

Thanks for sharing the realities of driving in the Dominican! Wouldn’t hesitate to do that again even if the coconut hit us and caused our vehicle have a breakdown! You guys are awesome!

@@laurieresmer1514 Hit a Fallow Deer Stag one night, it almost wrecked the car, an antler came through the screen just missing me, called a Vet out to shoot it as severely injured and a local butcher to collect it, nice Venison from it. As the Vet killed it, I could not be done for poaching as would have happened if my car had killed it and I had then sold it to the butcher. The Police who attended were in agreement. The proceeds helped with the cost of repairs and saved the hassle of an insurance claim and loss of no claim bonus at next renewal.

I’m proud of you guys driving in the DR. It’s hard I know b/c there are no rules and you will run into police check points, they sometimes look into getting some money from you. The country is amazing and not that expensive unless your renting a suv. You will find it all over there

You guys should visit Jarabacoa! It is a beautiful mountain town that many Dominicans go to for vacation. It is known as “the land of eternal springtime.” 😊

Was in Las Terrenas 24 years ago. It didn’t look anything like then. It was a quiet fishing village surrounded by tourist resorts. There were an internet cafe, some supermercados and some ice cream shops. Stayed at El Portillo. We took some daytrips to Cayo Levantado, Playa Rincon and Santo Domingo. Fell in love with the place and people.
Love your red monster truck! All the trees and greenery next to the beach are really cool. Eric, how long did it take you to learn to fly your drone. "Droning" is the best part of your Videos and you do such a good job. Allison, you do find such cute animals, have you ever come across "naughty not so cute ones"?

Hey Eric and Allison. Love your adventures. One question though- do you guys have a hard time when you rent electric cars? Is access to charging stations hard? Is it better on foreign countries vs the US?
I'm old enough to remember getting gas by an attendant who would also clean your windshield and check your oil level on the spot if you wished. They tricked us all into self-serve by making it cheaper until eventually that was the only option. Everyone is in too much of a hurry to get gas any other way now.
If you guys made a transition to making atv videos full time, I'm here for it.

One thing I hate about the caribbean is the animals are mostly unowned. That dog your playing with at @09:00 is looking for a home. He is also limping in the video, Kindness is taking him to a vet or shelter.

The dog 🐶 at 9min 30 was adorable.. But he had a bad back left leg and needed a haircut to get rid of all that matted hair... It made me cry.. So sad😢... It would have been great if someone/you guys had taken him for a wash, haircut and leg check up at a vet🤞.. And then a feed.

They must be Argentinean empanadas, because they look like they're made with wheat flour and not corn, which most of Latin America uses corn flour, except for Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. And the reason for the different shapes, that is how you identify the different flavors, if not they would all look the same.
