4K on Walksnail has been long overdue but it looks like it's a decent competitor to the O3. The image quality is definitely different as you described. Hard to pick a winner honestly. It looks better in some ways, in some ways not as good. Seems very subjective. The FPV internet is gonna have a field day with this one.
Amazing they finally made a camera to compete with DJi O3. The footage looks really good. Definitely worthy of a look. Thanks for the review and all the channel giveaways.
Awesome review and comparison on the moonlight and O3. Both images are amazing, but I do like the moonlight as a fpv camera ( seems brighter than the O3 ) as for image quality the O3 does seem slightly better. Awesome to see walksnail getting better. Great video Albert.
What a fantastic review and comparison to O3. The low light performance does seem to be a bit better with less noise. Was it a lot better to fly at night with the Moonlight? Looking forward to more content on this camera. Thanks again.
Dang tht looks good. Love the O3 inspired designs with grooves cut for heat dissipation?. I enjoy it when companies compete as its good for consumers and give more competitions lol. Didnt even know this product exist lol, as usual great review.
@@AlbertKimTV Yes I have only flown a crappy analog setup I knew digital was supposed to look good but this is crazy stuff! I am trying to invest in walksnail but everything nowadays is so expensive haha
Great review!! Walksnail has a lot going for it vs DJI! 4K 60FPS and a 1S VTX. Seems like DJI is always one step ahead but sure looks like they're catching up! I'm curious to see the next iteration of the goggles X even though it's a ways out
Im still on analog but i still love it i have tried hd well was the original air unit but it was super nice. I myself just can not afford to go hd. Thanks for sharing Albert
Albert, First let me say that this is an awesome review! All of the particulars and details are very helpful for making decisions. The footage you shared is very clear and makes it easy to compare the two systems. I do have to question a statement you made near the end though. In the Is this Camera for You section, you state that DJI made the decision that the resulting recording is more important that the ability to fly and that the CADX is the opposite. I'm pretty sure that you said this backward. Earlier in your video, you showed and discussed the pixel blur that is characteristic of the Walksnail CADX system and that it is easier to fly with the DJI than with the CADX.
Great coverage. I like how you discussed and showed a sample of the onboard EIS at 2.7K 60fps. Going to look for more samples of this as this could potentially save the post processing step of GyroFlow (or other software). Thanks.
Great review as always, Albert. Thank you. The only question I have is concerning room inside the frame. I currently have the avatar HD pro in my apex HD... and I'm wondering if that Moonlight will fit in there with my power leads going over the top like I have it now, or will I have to get creative with my power lead?
I'm looking at the 1 you have in your hand and I have it set up the same way, going out the back. The only difference is I have shrink tubing over it to protect the wires.
Thanks for the great review and comparison of the O3 and Avatar Moonlight Kit Albert. It looks like a toss up between the two as to features one might want.
This was the most honest review I've seen so far, even if you still were euphemistic about the smearing - on both cameras - I kinda regret, having ordered it.... I'll try it on a wing first. Let's see how it performes there.
when am i going to fly I see the Video in the glasses with a lot of vibrations. Do you know what it is due to? Do you have any advice? greetings, good video.
Thanks for the review! Still on analog, but I like to keep an eye on the HD options. Strange that you could feel a difference, but it wasn't in metrics. Agreed, something weird there....
@@AlbertKimTV Yes like model switching on the transmitter on the fly I am planning on installing systems on my construction vehicle fleet i need three just for the dozer
Thanks for the intro. I do appreciate manufacturers/competitors making attempts to bring products to the table to compete with those at the top. (DJI) This is nice, it's competitive, but the image quality is not quite there at the moment. If your coming from analogue, this is probably a great image, but if your coming from digital, it's just ok.
Great review of a valid option to the 03 system. Caddx definitely gets bonus points for low light capability. If you're not concerned with max range. But want to save weight, simplify the build. Can you use the dual element dji O3 style antenna and still get acceptable image quality? Happy flying everyone. 🤓

Pretty interesting indeed, Albert! Fantastic flying and review! 😃 It looks like the Walksnail system shows more details on dark places, which is great! I guess it's all going to depend on the light conditions to choose the best system... Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I mentioned the bitrate (150mbps) and the fact there was no 10-bit recording on the Moonlight in the video. Since firmware is still in the works, dynamic range testing is gonna come later. Earlier firmware seemed to have more dynamic range but the latest one seem to have it reduced so I'm not sure what's up.
Looks great just that "i could feel the difference " that right there is why i havent went digital. I never feel anything other than locked in with analog... especially having my quad tuned to the max and high rates.
A very promising future for the WalkSnail video system. As you mentioned it is rather subjective, but I feel like the image quality of the O3 is still ahead. However, the pace of development of these Caddx air units and cameras is great for the hobby.
We'll have to revisit the image quality debate in a few months after Caddx updates the firmware five more times. I don't think it's fully done yet and some features are still missing. Still not that bad for an initial release.

Your quad has a bad pid tune or bent props. The camera is not soft mounted properly so vibrations are isolated.
I just stumbled on the Foxeer 4k Ambarella A12 - wonder if you'll do a review? (OR if you already have, couldn't find it)

Just randomly saw it on foxeers website

I think this point was that bench measurements are useless since things change only a short distance away.
😮 I wanna try hd, someday! someday! Just little by little with darwin baby and hawkeye. Thanks for the reviews Albert 😊
That has the specs i require now all i need is a base station with a multi camera receiver

The DJI antenna is linear so that would not be a good idea to use on a Walksnail system.
O3 can run iso of 25600, but it will NEVER go higher than 6400 while in auto shutter. Did you do the night test in manual shutter? Looks great!
Albert mentioned he did all the tests in standard auto settings because he didn't have enough time before the release date.
I haven't had enough time with the latest firmware to test anything in manual settings. I will make a follow up video soon.
Which quad frame is this?
I linked it in the video description

does it have gyro data?
yes
He mentioned it supports gyroflow.
Yes, I mentioned in the video that gyroflow is supported so gyro data must be saved for this statement to be true.
Compatible with Avatar V1 goggles?
It should be. Otherwise he would have mentioned that.
Yes, works with all Avatar systems currently available.
@@AlbertKimTV that's great, thanks
Is it 4k in sdcard n goggle?
No 4K transmission to goggles is impossible right now
Not yet

Looks great just that "i could feel the difference " that right there is why i havent went digital. I never feel anything other than locked in with analog... especially having my quad tuned to the max and high rates.
Unfortunately, until technology improves dramatically, digital will never have the same latency as analog. Just plain physics here. Just impossible.
@AlbertKimTV but maybe fixed latency? Let the brain get used to the latency even if its higher than analog
@@JLfpv unfortunately, even with fixed latency like HDZERO, it's still too much and I can "feel" that too. Nothing can beat analog!
@925fpv bummer. Never tried hdz. Thought that might be the one if they could step the video quality up a little more. And range/penetration
