    That first tai chi move, “slanting flying” works but only at super close range where you can get you leg behind the guy. Most people on RUclips do it from too far away like this, the yes it doesn’t work at all. It is very effective when the opponent is too close to strike.

      It's not technically slant flying in this context. Xing Yi's snake xing has a strike like this which is supposed to go up into the ribs and under the armpit. Most people on youtube do it ineffectively in Xing Yi too. But I know what you're saying, distance and position are key elements of context to make your techniques work and if you don't know that then your techniques will be ineffective.     I agree with you 1000 percent! And i see the thing with aikido on youtube, you know aikido,,,,, the real martial art that doesn't really work,,,, you be safe and healthy my friend and god bless you...

    In Hsing yi do you practice with striking with the 2 large knuckles like karate, or is it sort of the whole fist front like in systema?

    Your material is useful for pushing one of the three internal arts from theory to application. It is tragic to see all TMA's in the gutter these days, and CMA is no exception. It is good to know that people are putting their applications under pressure and practicing what they preach; one only wishes they were the norm, and not the exception.
