    I’m not usually one who likes a vehicle that attracts too much attention, but ... I really like this machine. Especially in that paint/wrap(?) scheme. What a fun experience. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

    I bought my '04 Cayenne Turbo four years used. I''ve enjoyed it all those years. So far I've just replaced the Porsche console with a Kenwood so now I have all the modern gadgets including back up camera, Sirius, wifi, 3D GPS, etc. Probably going to do skid plates next and get a pop up roof bed. Light bars. The engine and drive line kick so much ass that not much you can do except install a snorkel. Take out the back seats for more gear. Gen 1 Cayenne's are definitely undervalued.

    This is a smart way to repurpose an older vehicle. We used to own a 2003 Passat Station Wagon with 4 Motion, the Audi 3.0 6 Cylinder and the Porsche Tip-Tronic gearbox. That car was a beast! I could see it lifted and equipped like that! Zack, yet a new kind of review, very nice addition to the channel. You are doing a great job and Corcars is a great contributor / partner. I am really enjoying all the reviews you and Andrea are putting out. Thank you. You manage to make us forget about the COVID restrictions. Quite an achievement!

      I've got a bigger lift and did a little cutting to fit 35's, it's still very dailiable!! Road noise from mud tires and a bit more fuel are the only noticeable differences. Handles fine and is a blast off pavement

    What a cool vehicle this is. Thank you for sharing. These can be very capable vehicles off road. The same is true with the VW Touareg, which the Cayenne platform shares. The VR6 is very durable as well vs the V8 option.

    I love the idea of that Cayenne with the nice comfy air suspension. I'm curious to know how often the air suspension needs to be serviced on that generation.

    The VW Touareg, of that generation, is basically the same vehicle as the Cayenne and, if you look hard enough, you can get a Touareg with locking front AND rear differentials -- along with the locking center diff. I like the look of the Touareg much better too!

    • @flyinb45
      @flyinb45 3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately, VW falls apart with the interiors as far as this generation is concerned anyways. The Cayenne is a infinitely better place to spend your time if that's a concern.

    To each their own, but I'd suggest not getting the v6. It's very underpowered in the Cayenne and is not much, if any more reliable than the V8. From what I've heard from other owners and my mechanic, the v6 tends to be even less reliable than both the v8 and v8 turbo.

  • @elvissamu

    The V6 model wouldn’t be able to go up many hills… too heavy, small engine 😅 V8 all the way.

      What kind of track are you talking about, because that Porsche will put your Tacoma to shame EVERYWHERE except rock crawling and reliability. It won Dakar amongst many other rallies. This all comin from a Toyota fanboy, Toyota's are all I own. Your comment is silly.
