Omg.. Honestly, the studio version is better than this. But she's very belty in studio, all of her albums are like this. Forgiven, and wake up are very belty.
This song is best served acoustically, the lyrics are so sad. It made me cry the first time I heard it so many years ago and still does to this day, a heartfelt gem of a song.
What a wonderful album! She is an amazing lyricist! Jagged little pill sold over 33,000,000 copies and won album of the year back in 1996! And it was truly the best album of the year… Mary Jane, you learn, feet over head etc …
Fun fact. Alanis is part of the Canadian vocal trinity of the 90's lol. Celine Dion, Shania Twain and Alanis Morissette were HUGE in the 90's and dominated their genres during that time.
Never seen this performance before! Yeah they did focus on the shirtless dude a lot LOL. Like you I am a huge Whitney fan. I was a fan of WH since The Greatest Love of All. In college I was a huge fan of Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan and Alanis. If You haven't I would suggest trying out some live performances from Tori and Sarah. Both great live vocalists like Whitney and Alanis
to be fair, its rock, and being shirtless isn't a big deal or something glamorized, but bassist, guitarists do get the focus even if they aren't the star of the band, That just something to do with the culture within the genre, Though I have to say this was mid end of the grunge era, when rock stars had they last glamourized worshipped by the young crowd.
Fun fact I’m a follower on your channel and I know you said you think Morisette Amon is the best vocalist in today’s generation of artist so you know Morisette Amon dad favorite singer is Alanis Morisette and he named his daughter Morisette after Alanis Morisette it’s ironic that Morisette is for me too the best vocalist in world in today’s generation she has a god given voice flawless
Morissettes real name is Jhoanne her middle name morissette is her stage name.. her father a musician himself was a real big fan of alanis morissette and he names his daughter after her morissette Jhoanne morissette's father loved Johann sebastian bach where morrissette got her first name from....
You should react to "Forgiven". I personally recommend the version in the Jagged Little Pill musical sung by Elizabeth Stanley just because of its execution, but the original is amazing as well.
I didn't realize she could sing like this. Great emotive and vocal performance.
Jagged little pill is pretty heavy on singing. Alanis is known for her untamed-unconventional vocal expression

Her live performance of “Uninvited” is phenomenal!!

Please, react to "Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette.

Also its helps that few singers are this unapologetic with their expression in singing like Alanis. Make her music in JLP more human.
I’d say JLP wasn’t just the best album of the year, it’s remained one of the best of all time.
Vocal powerhouse. My girl smashed it 😍💜💜💜💜💜😭👏
Not only is she a great singer but one of the beat songwriters ever. She's an amazing artist!
She's probably the best songwriter, and most influencial female of the 90's.
Tori Amos for me. But yest love Alanis too
@@toriboy25 Tori Amos, Bjork, Kate Bush, Alanis, Fiona Apple, there are plenty to choose
Sorry, Mariah Carey has her beat 10 times over.
this song is magical!! it's a story ❤️

Sarah McLachlan is up there Vocally..I would say ahead of Shania
@@toriboy25 Sarah was in the mix, yes. However, I'm talking commercially as well as vocally. By that metric, the trinity were the 3 that I mentioned.
Amazing performance!! Saw her in 96 in NYC, I beleive at the Academy of Music on w 35th st. She blew the doors off the place!!
Yep live she is amazing
You should hear her live... Amazing

Good reaction to a very good song. Check out Sarah McLachlan singing her song Angel and I Will Remember You
