Thank you so much for sharing!!! I am an amputee (leg through the knee) and want to remodel my kitchen for accessibility. You have provided a lot of great ideas. Again, thank you!
The snapback of the tape measure, ouch! So relatable. Microwaves up high are just not a good idea, disability or not. Also, it was genius to have the cabinet handle hit the other cabinet handle when you access that corner storage!
Your refrigerator is amazing I rewinded that part 3 times just wow lol I’m thinking about getting some of this appliances since I have cp it would definitely be easier.this whole video is wow!!! Thank You for sharing
Beautiful Kitchen! I really like the cabinets! I turn off my stove light & fan with a spatula 🙃 so that lower switch feature is Great! However, the oven & microwave being so low has not worked for me and many friends in wheelchairs. I had to place a 2nd one right on the counter - perfect height & I have space in front & both sides to safely slide food on when taking it out. My oven & many of ours is also higher so we aren't fighting to balance sitting up in our chair while holding heavy, hot cookware. The only thing I couldn't find soon enough for my kitchen is the oven that opens OUT like a fridge so we can get closer to take stuff out & not be far back behind a lowered open oven door. @AdaptToPerform on RUclips shows the one I want & some friends have where the oven opens OUT like a fridge door or cabinet. Excellent space in your kitchen.
Think I’ve commented this already but I love love loveee your hair chelsie!! Looks so cute, and I love your sweater in this video!! Too cute, you have the BEST style 😍
I just join your channel and I look forward to watching more videos I am currently building a house so I’m looking for ideas I am a partial T10 spinal cord injury and double amputee
This is not about this video but Is in a way but how do you roll and record yourself for your vlogs and your other videos ? Really been wanting to ask you that for a long time !
Ahh I love your kitchen! As a fellow wheelchair user, with a similar opinion on accessible kitchens (if you can make do with as little reno's as possible then why not, and I think it's good to push yourself to be as able bodied as possible); this was really nice to watch. I love all of your drawers, that would be so handy to have them come out and I love your spice/oil drawers. For the sink, I wonder if you could minimize the danger of burning if you built the outside of the sink with wood and then put a metal sink into it. Kinda like making a hanging table or counter, with a sink in it (I'm probably not explaining my thoughts that clear, but for those thinking of modifying their kitchens that could be an option?). In any case that is an awesome idea for the sink and I'll definitely keep that in mind for when I get my forever home, whatever that actually is!
You can see much of it in the last few minutes of this video where she shows her shower transfer. I really want a 0 step-up/Roll-In Shower like I had in my last home. The estimate was way too expensive so I transfer over carefully. Her video below. ruclips.net/video/GBSUpj3bsKs/видео.html
Chelsie it would be awesome if you answer this, I have spina bífida and am looking forward to be independent but my problem is with the kitchen. I don’t have the money to afford the remodeling so I wanted to ask. How do you manage on your own with a regular kitchen??
I have Spina Bifida myself and live in a one bedroom apartment, so I haven't done too much remodeling. What has worked for me so far though, is for cooking I use a hotplate that I have on a small desk right beside the stove. Yeah it's handy because it is low enough that I can see into whatever pot/pan that I am using, as well as the extra drawer space is really nice. I also had my coffee pot on it as well, before I bought my Keurig so it's a really nice feature. Then for my plates/bowls (mixing and eating)/glassware, I have a bookshelf from I think WalMart that I display them on. Which definitely helps my back from having to bend too much to get those things, because I use them everyday. Then like Chelsea, I just use the bottom cabinets to store the rest of my things in like cutting boards, mugs, and tupperware. I also tend to use my actual oven has storage for my pots and pans, but this place is definitely not my forever home so in the future I'm hoping for more cupboards. I also have a convection oven for toast, or small batches of baking (like if your roasting veggies, or baking something like chicken) which is definitely something I would recommend as well (way easier than a toaster and less bending for baking)
No one can call himself/herself a legitimate adult, until you have at least one junk drawer in the house!!! I can also say that it is almost guaranteed that if you throw something out, from that drawer, within two weeks you will find out you needed it!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I am paralyzed neck and down I don’t feel nothing I think the doctor said that and I have a boyfriend he not even help me I wear pull up because I don’t want to be go to the restroom I live in my parents They help me yay

There's tons of convection ovens that open from the side. Or a French door oven

Chelsie Hill. Hello. I love your kitchen and you look attractive. I am wheel chair bound because I have spina Bifada.
Thanks!!! Do you know what kind of sink?😊

My mom got me a microwave for her kitchen at our house because I’m in a wheelchair and our original microwave is really tall 💜
I would love to see a bathroom tour. I am remodeling mine and can't find the perfect vanity design

In my kitchen I have major issues with the refrigerator access while in my chair. Do you find this to be a problem for you as well?
Your gorgeous hun

Microwave is too low. Counter top height is best.
Side by sides are more expensive.
