    I blend my kitchen scraps then put it a 5-gallon bucket with water, after few days I drain the water and water my plants, the thick stuff goes into composter then the garden beds. The decomposing process is way faster that way, meanwhile the flowers enjoy the Vitamin Water before the decomposing process even begins. beautifully and look very healthy.

    Excellent video and information. We live in the city and our water is treated with chlorine and other chemicals intended to kill microbial life. When making our compost tea, we do a process called out gassing to remove these chemicals from our "universal solvent" ! ( I love that!) Reason being that if you use the treated water without out gassing much of the beneficial microbial life in the compost you add will be killed slowing down the process. If your water source is treated you may consider researching out gassing city water for more information. We have been very glad we did!
    Keep up the great videos!
    Thank you

    My late wife was the gardener, not me, but I helped when I could, She used to grow a lot of our own veggies, and a few fruits, and we were both avid composters,, however, we were told not to try to compost banana skins, as in fact they do rot. And of course the usual no no's for the composter were onions, garlic or any citrus fruits.

    • @barbaragordon477
      @barbaragordon477 4 года назад

      @@Jilbab9 did Jan ever answer? I have been using banana peels in my garden this summer and have found it helpful too. What I do is this: in a gallon of water add 3 banana peels cut into 2 inch pieces (more or less - size is not critical), cover and leave for a week. Strain liquid and discard peel. Dilute remaining liquid with an equal amount of water. Pour into the soil at the base of the plant. I do this weekly. All of my plants are in containers so how much I add to each plant depends on the size of the individual container and how the plant is doing (struggling plants or ones in a growth spurt get more.) I know that this is not terribly precise but it's like cooking in that way - if you like oregano add more; if you don't like garlic then leave it out. Best of luck.

      Urine is good for nitrogen diluted if u but urea which is a high source of nitrogen comes mostly from harvested horse urine. You can used banana peelers chopped up and soaked in water and strained for potassium . Bone meal I your planting holes for phosphorous wood ashes are good to raise ph and either potassium or phosphorus I don’t remember which , also unflavored gelatin is good for nitrogen . Prepare according to directions just don’t refrigerate it to make it gel . Hair is good to keep deer away ammonia diluted is good for nitrogen and full strength sprayed around garden perimeter will keep skunks out . Another tip is put Grigio killer in your garden and your lawn . Skunks eat grubs like candy and will dig up you lawn and garden to get them . Also if you have trouble keeping your young plants alive and you get dead spots in your lawn it’s because the grubs snack on your plant roots you garden will love you for it . One year I had to throw out my lettuce cause a skunk must have strolled through my garden and the smell and taste ruined my lettuce . Thanks for listening . I’m no expert only 70 yrs of experience

    Very well explained sir.
    Thank you very much.
    Sir I have one doubt when we go to nursery their we can see all flowering plants very well bloomed but after bringing them home why they don't bloom that much?
    I even used npk as well as organic potash.
    Once I asked a seed seller he said they spray something. And even a gardener told that they spary something.
    Can you please explain to us what it is exactly.

      i have been tought by Gary Matsuoka that a dilute spray of sugar and seaweed and some fertiliser is what they use to grow those giant pumpkins, if they dont spray they cant get over 200 pounds, something like that, seaweed apparently makes leaves big so that might have something to do with the flowering more

      Are you overfeeding perhaps ? I wouldnt use commercial products i much prefer to make my own compost, or manure well rotted , and blood , fish and bone works well. K

      i only use really fine sifted compost that i make and i wonder if i still need to use urine as fertiliser because people say compost isnt enough? thankyou@@katharinedavis4947
