At this point, Yusuke's life literally belonged to Keiko. She was the main reason he came back, so if it wasn't for her, i'd totally see him acting this way every fight.
And then when Keiko dies after they have a kid (Gon from HxH), Yusuke become dad of the year (Ging) - or that's my headcanon at least.

Youre making this up pal. He was never centered in keiko. She was on him the whole time. At that point they didnt have much of a relationship anyway. He even left her for a long time to train in the Last arc.
It's kinda weird how many series just casually confirm the existence of an afterlife, and neither the story nor the characters ever stop to think about the implications.
I would start my day, everyday telling places of worship how right or wrong they are.
Buffy did. It was part of the whole story after her friends brought her back from the dead, and she was confused and mad because she felt she was at Peace, and they pulled her out of heaven.

I came back once, I was very cold and wanted to go back to sleep but I was very coherent. Sadly I didn't get to see any cool stuff on my 5-6 minute departure. It was just like waking up from one of those rock solid sleeps
(I was revived in the back of an ambulance, and they kept getting upset I wanted to go back to sleep)

i mean, kinda yeah. like he's a half demon so powerful he could wipe out humanity personally, while also a teenager. his mom is a bit of a mess, his martial arts teacher is his first actual parental figure, his father figure died after a year of knowing he even existed and then there is just the constant attempts on his life and on those cares about, the love of his life was al most killed repeatedly. Frankly it's a miracle he is as well adjusted as he is.

@@gumball2253I was thinking it was the one with the sniper. When he basically realized he was in a shonen and got frustrated at the fact each enemy he fought was stronger than the last and he had to keep powering up to keep up with the enemies because it was never enough.

There's actually a old rpg called Arcanum that tackled the question of "if afterlife was an absolute certainty and objectively better than our life, would there be any meaning to life itself?" as well. It's a really cool game with a very unique setting, it's basically dungeons and dragons going through the industrial revolution.

Do you use the shipwreck glitch to get to the other side of the map early so you can dig up the book and go to the secret dark place up north and skip a lot of the story?
I do sometimes but mostly I play correctly, well as correctly as someone who knows where all the good stuff is.
(I tried to be vague for spoiler reasons but if you're as big of a fan of the game as I am you'll figure it out)

Funniest part is this doesn't feel out of character at all. This kinda is his explicit mentality outside of his love of fighting and his desire to not make his loved ones sad.

@@windandfireproductions5358nope. Anime filler kinda use it to make his motivation looks more apparent. Manga more subtle in approach, because we mostly see what Yusuke do, not what he thinks.
I mean it was directly lampshaded when Yusuke tried to sacrifice himself to save the redhead(whose name eludes me at the moment, he is the onenwith the thorn whip) that the only concern is that if he dies the people in his life will get depressed

It's wild hearing Lani voice Kuwabara and Yusuke again after so long. You can really tell his years of voice acting experience stand out. It's like bumping into an old buddy who's really grown up, but still the same cool person at heart.
Always nice to hear Lanipator's voice. Also lol at Kurama calling Yusuke out for using "quantifiably" but *not* Kuwabara for using "nihilistic". What redhead solidarity.
Kuabara's voice is one of the few impressions I can do. It is always such a treat to hear.
If you can do Kuwabara then you should try working on Vegeta and Piccolo. Voice actor barely changes the actual voice between the 3, so it's mostly all tone and delivery that separates them.
Damn, I wish I could do a Kuwabara voice.

@@soxar64 at least with the chucksters the physics weren't janky and could wasn't frustrating to control. it was still annoying but you felt in control of the situation (most of the time...). The pachinko machine was far worse IMO

2:30 strictly speaking, in Yu Yu Hakusho there's like three afterlives: the spirit realm, ruled by king Enma; hell, where Toguro went and where king Enma sends you; and the demon realm, where the three kings rule and by far and wide the largest among them. Don't know why the demon realm and hell are separate entities ruled by separate beings, I didn't write this

Kuwabara's nihilism comment is funny. Nihilism is a product of the absence of anything beyond life. But in this case a similar result came from the realization of one. Difference between the possibility of life being meaningless vs. existence being meaningless.

@@Kip450 Even by then I'd known Charlie Brown to be a boy that had a nonstop train of failure and aside from Linus and Snoopy, some of the worst fair weather "friends" you could never want. Seeing him lose what could have been one moment of glory for him and the way it was framed just plucked the wrong chord with me. It made me realize the world is a bad place and life from then on only confirmed it.
