What we need to do is create something that will automatically shake the sock up and down. Simply put your phone in the sock, then let the contraption do its thing.
It works better for samsung phones if you put the phone in the swing upside down. The internal pedometer registers more movement that way. I currently clock an average of 8km an hour and over 250km a week from limited use while at work.
Just purchased my own after watching this video and reading some comments and thought I'd share my findings: I have an Android and this swing works really well when I keep the GPS on, rather than off, and also upside down. Any other way, including turning off GPS, makes it log no steps for some reason. I've hatched so many eggs and gotten so many candies from this just by leaving this on for an hour. I can hatch one 10 km egg just by leaving this swinging for half an hour to an hour. Your device needs to be able to count steps though. It didn't work for you because you just left the timer on. Also, make sure Fit has access to storage so it can sync the steps into Pokemon GO.

I tuck my phone into my sock while I play the bass. I’m tapping/stomping my foot to keep the beat anyway, so I might as well get some extra egg distance out of it. I can usually get around 2-3k in a 30 minute practise session.
I do the same thing except when I do homework. I noticed I was tapping my leg a lot and put it in my sock and hatch 10km eggs in around 30 minutes now.
@@FLWVideosYT You should do a video where you put it in your sock and sit at your desk tapping your leg. Make sure you start tracking your workout in Google Fit first though.
OK I take back my posted comment. This product does indeed work if we do it right. Last night I left it swinging while I went to sleep & got a pleasant surprise this morning when I checked. In 6 hours 16 minutes, it managed to achieve 56.45km! That's average around 1.5km for 10 minutes! The secret is you need a companion app such as the Google Fit. Follow these instructions: Close Pokemon Go and also the mobile data/GPS, open Google Fit, start 'Track a workout' select Walking, leave phone (screen on or off... does not matter), when you come back, finish the "Walk" go to home screen, switch on your mobile data & GPS, open chrome, close it, open Pokemon Go. Wait a few minutes for the game app to update. That's it. *overnight, my six 10km eggs were hatched.
@@FuriousTrainer12 When you play Pokemon, you need to turn on BOTH your mobile or Cellular data and also your GPS/Location, right? So, when you are doing the phone swing, you can turn off all these functions. This has nothing to do with your 4G LTE. Hope this help. :)
Hi, i tested doing this, and it doesnt appear to be working for me. Is there anything else you can suggest? Ive tried with treadmill walking, treamill running, and just walking, and when i come back to the screen it never shows any steps taken.
I bought one of these, it wouldn't register my steps unless I put my phone in upside down. Also ensure you FORCE CLOSE Pokemon Go. Ensure the steps are registered in Google Fit Or Apple Health (Apple Health updates slowly, Google Fit is almost instant) BEFORE opening Pokémon Go again. I think you should try it again with the phone upside down and monitoring the steps in Google Fit.
I have a different model but the same swinging mechanism. It works on my iphone6. airplane mode + app closed, make sure GPS is closed and adventure sync is correctly setup. Overnight I get about 20km. So far so good
it does work. the best way to do it is have you game on the background, and make sure Adventure sync is on, when you get back into the game it takes about 10-20sec to xfer the info from Adventure sync into the pokemon go :)
Socket method is good for 50km a week. sure does handle eggs and rapid increase of pokemon as buddies. keep up the research always looking for the next best thing.
I'm not sure which phone you have, but if you have an iPhone it works. The phone tracks your steps off of the phone's "health" program, which sometimes takes over 15 minutes to update / sync through PoGo. I bought one of these yesterday and it works, you just have to be patient for the update and not open your app until then
This does work. You need to start a session in Google Fit before putting your phone in the pendulum swing. Google Fit will only sync the distance after the hour mark. Your sock method is the fastest way to clock short distance but the pendulum swing can clock 10km easily if you know how to use it.
Great! Let me know if you need more info. I have been doing it daily at my office desk for the past 2 months to clock steps for my fitness apps and hatching eggs at the same time. For your sock method, there is this item called the baby cradle swing motor that consist of a motor and a few springs which can keep the cradle/sock moving up and down. :)
The sock method you showed is so easy and efficient. With over 150 pokemon go friends, I'm able to get about 20 gifts everyday and I usually hatch 9 7km eggs every other day. It usually only takes me 15-30 minutes. So easy and doesn't strain my arm.
This video was very helpful. I did not know that the sock the was the best method until I watched this video. Very helpful again please keep making these Amazing videos.
if you search on amazon "Phone rocker" you should get a bunch of them. They're $10-$15. You can get the cheapest one since I'm pretty sure they are literally all the same chinese product.
What phone are you using? It takes me around 1 hour and 50 minutes to hatch a 7km egg. That is a little longer than other people with this device, I think. I am using a Galaxy S8.
My worked fine for 1 time, now it doesnt work or count 100 meters for 20minutes, whats wrong? I got adventure sync turned on, and google fit too. How to fix it ?
I bought a slightly different build, same concept, and it works great. Getting 1.5 km every 10 min. If I were you, I would double check to make sure everything was working properly
I have this device, exactly the same box. It worked at first but I had it in there this morning for about 90 minutes and it didn't calculate any distance in PoGo. But it did count towards by steps om my phone so I'm a bit confused. Of course adventure sync is turned on and the game is turned off. The first time I got about 1.5k in 30 minutes..
There should be something wrong. I have used the phone shaker with iPhone 7 when I sleep. Generally is about 4 to 5 kilometer per hour. It is less than sock method. But you don’t need to do anything, just let it swing. In general, you need to wait some time to see the distance sync. What you do here is just to show yourself not using this method. Yeah, you don’t cheat in game. You cheat viewers here. This method does work fine.
Hi, I have a few questions about adventure sync: does the Pokemno go app need to be opened? Do we need GPS running? Or do we shake the hell out of our phone and the turn on GPS and PoGo?
I got this for Christmas, too: You have to install the Google Fit App, close Pokemon Go and start the fit app; then go to "start running" and then it works ;-)
While using the sock methods or shake method ,if u shake phone fast enough , PoGo won't record any distance ..may be something to do with speed limit..
If the idea is to simulate walking as closely as possible, either a bouncing spring or perhaps a small pendulum with a period of about 1 s^-1 seems like the ideal mechanism to tether your phone to.
I was too curious to try that sock method. I tried it while watching RUclips videos and I checked the game after like 5 mins if it had any kilometers. What "if it had any"!? It had to pick star piece and fast! All of my eggs were about to hatch! 😎 Very useful method if you are just lazy or have something like to do at home or wherever you are. Thanks for the tip! You have so informative videos and they are short enough that I want to keep watching. Thanks mate and keep up the good work!
@@gaarasama1719 I have Honor Play. Works fine for me. Remember that you have to have your game fully closed and not have gps on. That's how the sock trick works. It bases on phones own movement and not gps.

Sometimes after I jiggle the sock and go back into the game, it says I didn't track any distance, maybe your Adventure Sync progress just didn't sync yet? I have to like jiggle it for a few more minutes and let the phone rest before the total progress registers. But this method only has swinging, it doesn't have any vertical motion that actual walking would, so I could see why this method wouldn't work.
I bought one of these swings and use it by sticking a xiaomi mi band on it. I have it strapped to the top of a pencil which is strapped vertically onto the swing, so the length of the stride for the mi band is faster/further so it rocks the pedometer inside better. I found this swing doesn't work with just my phone (moto z play) as mine and most smart phones no longer have pedometers inside. This means you cant simply rock the phone. you must use a pedometer activity tracker device on the swing and sync the step data to a phone. The easiest way to use this swing is to download the "notify and fitness" app and use it instead of installing the xiaomi mi band app. The app has to send an activity to googlefit, then gfit sends it to pokemon go. If your phone doesn't have a pedometer, follow these steps. Steps. 1 Disable GPS inside of settings in GFIT. This will prevent gfit gps triggered activity timestamp from overlapping with pedometer activity on the swing, which will mess with PokeGo adventure sync. Step 2. close pokemon go. Force close it under app settings. Do not open it while using the swing. If pokemon go is open it may create its own step data from its gps tracking, which will overlap with the step data from the swing causing it to ignore the steps. Step 3. Using "Notify and Fitness" app, start a "new workout". Set workout type to running, no gps, no heart monitor. Step 4. Stop the workout when desired.. wait for the app to sync the data to GFIT. I bought the premium app for like $2 so i can manually force it to sync to gfit, otherwise theres a timer on how often it syncs. Step 5. Open GFIT to check if the workout data synced. wait for the first screen to update. Click on Journal. Check to see the latest activity is named and has a distance. this distance may be different than the distance tracked in the last app, its never perfect. Step 6. Go to phone settings, accounts, gfit email, accounts, click gfit to force it to sync. this pushes the step data from gfit to pokemon go, do not skip doing this. Step 7. Open pokemon go! your steps should be added. Trouble shooting: make sure adventure sync is on... make sure gfit is connected to pokego and connected to "notify and fitness" in gfit settings, connected apps... not all pedometer apps will push viable step data to gfit. notify and fitness as well as mi band app both work, but the later is inconsistent because not all session data is pushed with an activity name, gfit wont use step data if the journal entry doesnt have a name... If the pedometer works in hand but not on swing, you need to change the angle and distance from center of rotation on swing so it rocks harder. took me a while to get it counting correctly. I get 20km an hour. best time to use when sleeping, not using pokemon go app. If your phone does have a pedometer, i dont know what does or doesnt work. good luck.
I know this video was 2yrs ago and maybe it didn't work then but it definitely works now! I bought one of these swing gadgets and over night from 10pm to 6am the next morning. I got about 34km. And for 5 days I got 344km. So it definitely works.

I've been using the sock method for months now and i crank out so many 10 km eggs a day it's shocking that i haven't hatched any shinies yet :( also hatched a perfect IV bagon a few weeks back, and of course his name is sock head lol.
@@MrSinister718 doubtful, egg hatches are already determined when they're picked up. The same stops tend to give out the same things over time, so that could be it too
The Phone swing works more than well it's just that you have to REALLY close off Pokemon Go app. If you use Android then you need to Force Stop it. Then swing it :)
@@randybadillo1144 Make sure you're signed in on your Google Fit/Apple Health then swipe away the Pokemon Go from recent apps. With Android you can even long press the app from recent menu to jump to app settings and do the Force Stop for extra measure. But with all that it still might happen every few swings where it won't count the distance for some reason. I suspect the broken "Nearby" feature that Niantic tried to implement but it has remain broken and sometimes even with Force Stop for example the Nearby feature will wake up the phone. This only occurs on Android so far and iPhones seem like they are not affected by this.
I think that you opened the game too fast after stopping the shaking. That even happens to me with the sock methody i get nothing if i boot into the game right after shaking
Im thinking it's more of a google fit or apple health kit fail.....I've noticed everytime I open the app, "Adventure Sync" gets disabled on my Galaxy j7! .....so if i forget to re-enable it....loss of steps... also google fit and/or apple health kit must be launched as well....in the background. and when you checked for the 0.9km.....I noticed you had the "Do not tresspass..." prompt when you opened the app...so this is likely why the distance did not get logged.....
I found the best way to use adventure sync, mowing your lawn with a push mower. I live on just a half acre of land and got 13.9 km from having my phone in my pocket for about half the yard.
What if you put your phone inside a Hamster Ball or something similar and put that onto a Treadmill. if you had a way to keep the ball from rolling off, but let it roll along it's way, would that work for the step counter? Asking for a friend xD

I have a question about this method. Does it matter if my phone is awake and Pokemon GO appears on the app or can I just walk around with it sleeping and move my arm around?
I got a different device but what I learned is you have to turn off the wifi and just let it run after that. Mine almost got me to 50 km in one night. It has to do with the wifi being or data which prevents it from getting those steps added to it. IDK.
For those who have gotten this to work, I have tried this on a S10 and a S6 both take the data on Google Fit but don't update in pokemon go. Adventure sync is working when I walk but not from the swing. Any advice?

I've used my son's rock tumbler without the lid and some stuffing material to keep my phone secure. I end up getting between 10 and 15 km per hour with Adventure Sync. Only downside is it's a bit loud.
It's because the phone does not move. It swings but it stays in place as the center of the phone is where swing occurs. That means, only its top and bottom change postions, but the whole phone stays in one place all the time.
it doesn't work because Google Fit or Apple Fit will only count steps if the phone's sensors pick up movement that involves *both* a back and forth or side to side motion *and* an up and down motion. Basically, the movement needs to be circular or at least have an arc to it. That's how the joints between the legs and hips work after all...
@@BushidoToken I have an android so I only have experience with Google Fit specifically but I assumed that Apple Fit would work the same way. With Google Fit you definitely have to use circular motions for maximum effectiveness. Maybe Apple Fit is just dumber...

Im just guessing here but I think this device was created to simulate steps... doesnt really mean youre location is gonna change. I looked at 2 demos and theyre both step counters.
Ironically enough before I switched jobs a while back I was bagging concrete and I would sit there I'd be shaking my leg (like beating a bass pedal on a drum set) up and down with my phone in my sock and was getting insane distance like 120km per week and reaching gift limits everyday and with my new job I knew I wouldn't be doing this everyday so I bought this thing hoping it could replace that and make it way more effortless to get km but long story short its not more than a gimmick

Close Pokemon Go and also the mobile data/GPS, open Google Fit, start 'Track a workout' select Walking, leave phone (screen on or off... does not matter), when you come back, finish the "Walk" go to home screen, switch on your mobile data & GPS, open chrome, close it, open Pokemon Go.
@@paulchin4094 hi I noticed this was an older comment but does this still work
@@silverthesecond1944 Yes, it still works.
Did you find out how to make it work on on iphone@@antonziegler6397
I bought one of these, it wouldn't register my steps unless I put my phone in upside down. Also ensure you FORCE CLOSE Pokemon Go. Ensure the steps are registered in Google Fit Or Apple Health (Apple Health updates slowly, Google Fit is almost instant) BEFORE opening Pokémon Go again. I think you should try it again with the phone upside down and monitoring the steps in Google Fit.
Probably did this on purpose to make people not buy these devices or he literally has no idea how to really use it. But it definitely works
dude. Your vids are the best. I really enjoy the analytical approach
Phone shaking seems to work the best for me. Guess its the flick of the wrist. Sock method is slower/gives less distance.
I bought mine off amazon. I easily hit 350km a week, hatch all my eggs before bedtime and get candy overnight. It does work.
For Real?

What is the name of the device and how much was it?
if you search on amazon "Phone rocker" you should get a bunch of them.
Watching u shake that sock... I’m dying 🤣🤣🤣
Can you post the product link?
whats your process
I’m getting 2 ks every half hour and it’s shitting me. How do you dial this thing in?
The reason he got no distance is because the distance didn’t sync into the game yet. Be patient
Edit, it does work when I put my phone upside down. Just had it in there for about 30 and did 2.4k
@@FLWVideosYT thank you!
If u use a beenie and bounce your phone inside so theres a small impact between phone and beenie you can get 3.5k in ten min. Its much faster
Buildings with thick walls, and no sheet metal roofs work the best. Keep an eye on the prompts that come up.
I got this for Christmas, too: You have to install the Google Fit App, close Pokemon Go and start the fit app; then go to "start running" and then it works ;-)
thanks. i actually wanted to know that hahaha.
Have you Test it again ? Sometimes the steppcounter updates not direct after 10 minutes...
I also use the bouncing sock method. Gives me 8 KM per hour while I watch TV. In 5 days I'm up to 65 KM walked.
Lately mine hasn't been syncing up when logging back on. Any tips?
I was too curious to try that sock method. I tried it while watching RUclips videos and I checked the game after like 5 mins if it had any kilometers. What "if it had any"!? It had to pick star piece and fast! All of my eggs were about to hatch! 😎 Very useful method if you are just lazy or have something like to do at home or wherever you are.
Thanks for the tip!
You have so informative videos and they are short enough that I want to keep watching. Thanks mate and keep up the good work!
What kind of phone do you have?
@@gaarasama1719 I have Honor Play. Works fine for me. Remember that you have to have your game fully closed and not have gps on. That's how the sock trick works. It bases on phones own movement and not gps.
@@happohajotus my game finally updated! ^-^ it just took like half an hour... x/ I have s Google pixel so idk if that had anything to do with it?! (?^-^)
If your phone does have a pedometer, i dont know what does or doesnt work. good luck.
also steps on most apps reset at midnight, so make sure to sync them to pokego before midnight.
This is too funny, as always I love your videos
I know this video was 2yrs ago and maybe it didn't work then but it definitely works now! I bought one of these swing gadgets and over night from 10pm to 6am the next morning. I got about 34km. And for 5 days I got 344km. So it definitely works.
What if you put the phone in the sock and then attach the sock on one of the blades on the ceiling fan
Omg that sock metod work very vell walked 4.4 km in like 30 minutes and hatch 5 egg thank you i hope finnaly can walk 50km and get som 10km egg and hope to get rioluo
I believe Riolu is in 7km these days
What about a Apple Watch attached to the device will it work with adventure sync or a pokeball for increasing you Pokémon in the let’s go eevee or pikachu
have u checked whether ur Ad Sync was disabled ?? my Ad Sync has been automatically disabling itself every now and then... and i had to always manually check
When you first talked about the sock method it worked great for me, but then like 2 or 3 weeks ago, it stopped working for me. Has this happened to you or any other people out there? Have you tried the sock method recently? I use an LGv40 I don't know how they would compare tho.
I've been using the sock method for months now and i crank out so many 10 km eggs a day it's shocking that i haven't hatched any shinies yet :( also hatched a perfect IV bagon a few weeks back, and of course his name is sock head lol.
Where do you get the time? Is your hand not sore? Lol.
I've been trying for months to get a bagon.. haven't had one since last October -_-
I bet the game knows to give out shit hatches if the phone hasn't changed gps.
@@MrSinister718 doubtful, egg hatches are already determined when they're picked up. The same stops tend to give out the same things over time, so that could be it too
Hahhaha
The Phone swing works more than well it's just that you have to REALLY close off Pokemon Go app. If you use Android then you need to Force Stop it.
Then swing it :)
I just got one today..so I have to close the app..open swing and that's it?
FLW Videos ok thats strange^^
@@FLWVideosYT Impressive. Loving the content sir, thank you for your good service :)

I haven't purchased this, but as a disabled person unable to walk much, something like this would have been super beneficial for me. Wish I could still walk like I used to though (long before Pokemon Go).

I tried one of these with the app open but screen off and it works. You just have to close and open the app and then you get your step credit. I got the 12 dollar one off amazon. Super happy with it.
Am I supposed to get immediate increase in KM after doing the sock method? Or does it take a while for it to register to my account?
Restart ur phone then turn ur location off then on and go into Pokemon go make sure ur on the main screen and close the app completely with adventure sync on

After watching your previous videos I actually found one of these devices on Amazon! Mine works really darn well so I was hoping you'd cover these in the future. I don't use it for 10 mins. Maybe an hour or overnight. You can get a lot of distance that way. At least I did
What is the device called
It's linked in my second comment, right above yours. The item was from China so I can't really say what it was called. I need to actually test it more but I was getting about 4km per hour. Not much but if you aren't playing at home and going to bed you can leave it running to hatch eggs.and get buddy distance and candy
I used the sock method during the hatching event, it was great lots of stardust and a couple of shiny babies.
Did you try covering the light sensor? It might've picked up more distance simulating the "pocket".
@@FLWVideosYT if you try it us know if it works 👍

Have you tried the JGP phone shaker?
It looks like it works really good.
there is a better one. go check solerphoneshaker
@@Nathan-yq3lw thanks. I'll check it out.
I got a different device but what I learned is you have to turn off the wifi and just let it run after that. Mine almost got me to 50 km in one night. It has to do with the wifi being or data which prevents it from getting those steps added to it. IDK.
Love these Tests you do. Keep it up. One day we will find a non energy consuming way to hatch eggs lol :)
Can you use the Apple Watch with adventure sync, ie having app closed on phone but Apple Watch will be counting steps and hatching eggs ????

What if the distance travelled in pokemon go is counting for me , but my eggs and buddy candy have no progression(means my egg is stuck at 0/5km, and candy stuck at 0/5km). What do i do?Any help is appreciated !
I've used my son's rock tumbler without the lid and some stuffing material to keep my phone secure. I end up getting between 10 and 15 km per hour with Adventure Sync. Only downside is it's a bit loud.
It works for my iPhones. I ran my friends account yesterday (he broke his foot this week) did 27km overnight.
I just want to sincerely thank you for making me think of a way to log activity in Google fit. Download fit as and log away.
Elizabeth Joan my iPhone 7 must be weird then because I have used a swinging stepper for months and gained thousands of KMs
@@BushidoToken I have an android so I only have experience with Google Fit specifically but I assumed that Apple Fit would work the same way. With Google Fit you definitely have to use circular motions for maximum effectiveness. Maybe Apple Fit is just dumber...
You'll need Google fit for This method but... Someone said that you need to turn off adventure sync and then back on. After that force stop Pokémon GO so it doesn't run in the background. He used the phone swing system and got it to work.
i think you have to turn on the adventure sync and close the app completely and let it run for 10 minutes....
so attach the sock to a desk fan, as it spins it will shake it up and down
This was working great for me at first. Getting at least 5km an hour then gradually I was getting less than 5km an hour. A week ago I was only getting 1km an hour and after the forced update, I'm getting no km recorded at all. I downgraded Google Fit and changed my height and weight and still not getting any distance recorded. What am I doing wrong or what went wrong?
I want to see someone strap their phone onto a dog and play fetch, I want the stats of that method
