Classic.... Almost brings tears to my eyes.... Sitting on the benches on the side of my building with my crew smoking blunts, and this classic playing on the boombox, many of my friends that I grew up with have passed away, and this song makes me think about those summer nights on the benches with all of them.... Who’s still listening to this funky fresh electro jam in 2019 ? Thumbs up 👍 if you are . This jam never gets old love the beat and the message is true till this day because life is tough so get tough tough tough ...........
Yo. I'm from Greensboro, NC. I remember when I was 14 yrs old when my cousins, from E.Orange, NJ, would come down here for the summer and bring there mix tapes too. I'll never forget when I first heard Kool DJ Red Alert on 98.7 KISS FM, and Mr. MAgic on 107.5 WBLS FM. It blew me away. From 1983 to 1999 I would copy their tapes. When I got older I would visit them up there and tape the mix shows off the radio myself. I still have some of them.
Thumbs up 👍 🆙 if u are still listening to this jam it never gets old word We know the world is suppose to get tough so get tough !!!!!! Song is so tru to its lyrics 1983-2018 WOW GET TOUGH ,
Oh wow what a blast I never seen this video before I am familiar with this group because it was a classic break dancing tune and it was a banger in the clubs in the 80s thanks again You Tube
Yeah don't think that you're too cool to listen to the beat with the rap about school. I took heed and listened. They were right. One or two jokers in the class...but gym was the only class they passed.
I remember in school everybody want to be my friend because I use to dance break one year before beat street movie in South Spain...my snickers, my hoodies, the way I walk, talk...I'm a b. boy Old school 4 ever...
Tempos bons que não voltam mais 'MARAVILHOSO" Queria poder ter nascido e vivido nesse local e nessa época. Muito obrigado a você que postou esse video, abraço.
whats up isa, i'm douglass class of 1990. and i remember these good old days. this takes me back to listening to webb and v103 on the radio. oh yeah, i have that z3 mc's on wax as well.
I was living in a small french city at that time when it came out, near an NATO military base wich american soldiers were bringing fresh hip hop, so I heard it on a small radio called "radio santé" and I never forget about this track, 25 years trying to dig it, so I found it yesterday, one of greatest day of my musical life, discovering the video is another great moment. Hip Hop wasn't only about egotrip and party rhyme at that time ! Timeless.. Thanks for sharing this...
Awesome, have this on vinyl ... Played by one of the most inspirational Amsterdam radio pirate stations in the early 80's Satellite Empire and Futureline
This jam NEVER I MEAN NEVER GETS OLD WORD’EM UP WE KNOW THE WORLD IS SUPPOSE TO GET TOUGH SO GET TOUGH GET TOUGH SPECIALLY TODAY 2018 THINGS ARE MUCH WORST THAN 83” 84”
absolutely love this song and so happy and proud to have this on my iPod, I love the electro hip hop of the early/mid 1980s, anything from 1979 to around 1992 is what I consider it to be the golden era of hip hop
DJ HOWIE TEE...from Chubb Rock and Real Roxanne fame!!! When they in mic booth, he's the rapper in white shirt on left hand side! I know that face...Lol
If you remember this jam,you came from a time when Hip Hop was about to take over the world.I was working on my basketball game but Hip Hop showed how diverse it was. Before Tupac and Biggie, this was timeless Hip Hop.

I love this jam. The synthesized bass line is fierce. I still rock it today. Love the vintage gear (and wears) in the video. Met Dash (the short dude in the middle) back in '83 when he was talking to my cousin. Man, how did rap get away from these positive roots.
