Gintama fights are great by themselves but the build up and story behind them is what makes them so great I also just like how raw and viscous these fights are and how power is displayed Also while a big part of it is comedy there also loads of serious arcs and moments as well as just progressively learning more about the cast
The visceral aspect of fights really sets it appart from other anime. In a lot of anime it feels like they're purposely trying not to kill each other but here it really feels like they're giving all they have and one moment of weakness could result in somebody's head flying.
@@amuro9624 i love Gintoki’s dialogue as he describes fighting Hosen. The way it just makes Hosen just seem so strong while at the same time showing how much of a Badass Gintoki is for remotely keeping up with him
Part of what makes the build up good is that even when his life is on the line Gintoki is usually joking around. He's one of the most chill guys around. So when he finally snaps like against Jirochou the hype is peaked. Also in this show the protagonist doesnt just call on some latent power or plot armor to win. Gintoki loses and needs help all the time. Since you dont know who will win you're always on edge.
@@Nemesis653 i also really like the sense of progression Gintoki goes through in the sense that he becomes more skilled and strong or i guess regains some of his strength and skills

1:35 he always says "I'm not Zura, I'm Katsura." But here he says the opposite "I'm not Katsura. I'm Zura." There is a deeper reason as to why he says this actually.
I do not support those who have not seen Gintama from seeing the top 10 fights. They spoil themselves and don't understand anything, and expect to see those fights right away when the anime starts. If this girl remembers Zura's phrase, she will already expect it and it won't be so epic.
@@hikari0446It's the opposite for most people. This is a nice way to hype people to watch the show. It's not a bad thing unless they are already into the show and receive unwanted spoilers.

Similar to One Piece, Gintama mixes ridiculous comedy with seriously intense moments. Gintama turns it up to eleven, though. The comedic elements are WTF fourth wall-breaking insanity and the action scenes white-knuckle, jaw-dropping fearsome experiences. There's real depth to all of the characters and relationships between them which in some cases make the fights as tragic as they are thrilling. Gintoki vs takasugi isnt number 1 because of the action. The emotional impact behind that fight is what makes it easily one of the best fights in shonen jump history.
I love that you have reacted to more Gintama! There are more fights not included in this list since it came later, and the ones you saw is also edited. Gintama fights are not only excellently choreographed and animated, they are heavy on symbolism and emotions as well
Best part of this video is that most of these fights are cut. It’s like a nice teaser so if you choose to watch the show there’s much more to see and it’ll be even better with context.
theese fights are heavily cutted and are way much better with context. Gintama has one of the best fights in anime. Loved your reaction. Please react to the endings they are really bangers, keep the gintama content coming
Gintama's fights are the best because of their background and what they mean in the show, Gintoki vs Takasugi is easily the best fight in the history of fiction when you understand the context of it.
Right now i'm watching gintama for the 7th time. And it's all because your gintama openings reaction video. I ve reached already 112th episode since your video dropped. I hope you are happy 😅
That's what makes Gintama one of favorites anime, they give you comedy to get close with the character, to feels their absurd everyday life and then when the serious moment happen you can feels it more especially the build up that happen before that fight happen.
Previously i thought that Gintama was just a comedy anime, but there was a time when the anime was serious and it was really epic in my opinion. Overall the comedy is very good, mostly parodies of other anime(especally Dragon ball which really hilarious)and references, but when the anime is serious it's really quite epic. And believe me, Gintama is different from other shounen anime, from the MC, character design, side characters, flashbacks, arcs, fights, antagonists and many more. It's the best anime I've ever watched in my life. It was being the part of my soul💗😭
Chills the entire time. Gintama fights for me are on another level because not only are they executed and choreographed well, they are also emotion-heavy and the lines thrown out during the fights are so good too. I love Gintama sm
The people who fight with umbrellas are all from the same warrior race of aliens. -that's why the old guy was so strong; he's not human and has super strength. Kagura, the red-haired girl that punched a fracture into a guy's leg is from the same clan and accidentally fell into the bloodlust frenzy that her race is known for. She doesn't want to kill people so she's cared to hold back most of the time. Imo the best part of the Katsura/Gintoki team-up fight against the space pirates fight was how Gin started off completely unarmed. The first thing he did was snatch the sword right out of an enemy's hand and every time it cuts to him afterwards, he's weilding a different weapon that he took from a foe.
It's rare for an anime to make me laugh out loud and cry in the same episode but this one does it perfectly, it doesn't take itself seriously but the emotional scenes still hit like a damn truck
Those who think that Gintama has no plot: Those who watched Gintama: -_- btw the fights are not fully shown cuz they contained a lot of spoilers of course Excited to watch your reaction to the actual episodes next, right now all you had seen were all about funny moments and tense fight but the show has a lot more to offer like in terms of emotional story and other genres.
I see evetyone reacting to gintama fights or gintama out of content compilations but noone's willing to watch the whole anime and get to know its beauty and wholesomness in these little interactions between characters
There is a hidden and true top 1 fight scene, but it is in the Gintama movie exclusive only and not in the anime itself. This is only anime exclusive, but the movie fight scene is the best.
Gintama is usually a very joke anime however because it is all laughs and fun it has a huge buildup on all the serious moments. The serious stuff is written increadiblly and because of all the funny stuff before when it gets real you really really feel that this is it and it hits 10x harder because you know this time it's not a joke.
"Top 10 fights" isn't enough to describe the best Gintama fights. You gotta at least make it top 20. The anime kinda got cancelled at the last final arc, so they released 2 short ovas and a movie to end the series. The final arc in the anime and the movie also includes tons of top best fights, and thats excluding the other amazing top fights of the anime that didn't include main antagonists that influenced the story directly. Example would be the Obi Wan Kenobi fight (yes parody on the name) where he fights a Jedi/cyborg. One of the most awesome and tear-breaking arcs 😢 And my favourite the Excalibur arc where Okits and Gintoki finally have an official match, the match of the century between 2 huge Sadists (yes those are characteristics of their personalities, specially Okits who's thing is being a total sadist even to good people when he is a police man.
I think Gintama is the hardest anime to get into that is worth it. I love Gintama, tied with one piece as my fave, wholistically one piece is better, but I think Gintama has the highest peaks I have seen in a series. Would love to see you react to it, but if I can offer some advice, take your time with it, do not binge it. I think the best pace to watch it at is one or two episodes a week, but sure other Gintama fans have their own recommendations. Similar to how one piece, getting to experience the adventure with the straw hats, getting to watch all the characters grow, form new relationships, and interact with each other is what I love the most about Gintama, and watching all the episodes, really makes the serious arcs hit even harder, think the best example of that is the Four Devas arc. Glad you are interested and I hope you can make the jump into Gintama.
If you know the context, most of these fights are heartbreaking, but Gintama has slow start, so if you decide to watch, do it slowly a.k.a dont watch 10 episodes a day, once you're in ep 150+ the show picked up a pace, so you don't have to rush.

the reason the fights in this video are so cut up is because fights in gintama have a lot of context and motivation behind them and woven throughout them, so they had to cut out a decent chunk of the story and plot progression probably to focus on fight choreography but most likely to avoid copyright, this goes without saying but every single fight here is actually better when watching the anime and having the full context on what is happening and why it's happening
