In the anime Yashahime, a continuation of Inuyasha, the main antagonists were corruped Qilin daiyoukai (aka great 'demons') by the names of Zero and Kirinmaru. There was also a third one, the daughter of Kirinmaru, although she only existed in a spirit form inhabiting an artificial body. Whilst Zero and Kirinmaru were villains, Rion was openly friendly to the protagonists, although she was later deceived.
You actually see one of these and legend of Zelda breath of the wild it is called the Lord of the mountain and was put into the game as a tribute to saturo iwata the late president of Nintendo who passed away shortly before the games release
