I am trying to get Rarran to Mythic before the season ends, but he is losing a lot and seems so tiled! Send energy! ruclips.net/user/liveUTELhyWtfO4?si=gzd1Bo8oLQ0eBQ7R
The intro analysis is what sets this channel apart. You need to know WHY to choose 1 card over another. You can always tell the players who netdeck but don't know how to pilot the deck. Thanks, CGB, you're 1 cool kat!
I know that a lot of people skip the deck tech, and because of that you've been making them shorter, but I really missed the more in depth deck techs at the start like this one, great video CGB!
@@firstpersonfeelings5479 i feel you. I mostly watch the videos for his deck ideas and twists and see what i can make of it and i barely watch any gameplay. But i do admit there are things i can learn from that too.
Thank you for the detailed analysis, that was actually very informative. I myself have played almost as many games of boros tokens but I just sort of let my eyes glaze over and learned absolutely nothing in the process
I really like this version for the answers with things like Kutzil's Flanker. The things that I have seen that might be worth using would be Sunken Citadel for being able to mana fix and also use it for things like Restless Bivouac, Fountainport, and Mirrex. I would probably put at least two in in place of a plains and mountain. The other thing that I would consider would be Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon as a 2 of in place of 2 Sunfalls since it would give you some blockers or extra attackers especially against things without trample. I tend to prefer fast go wide and buffing strategies, though, so somewhat different play styles in that since your usual style is the kind of control that is a long game of solitaire, which is why I like watching your style to see the different thoughts that go into it
Hello, thanks for taking the time to discover the best RW tokens deck to use in Mythic, hope to get there one day. Just a little FYI, the decklist in moxfield, when downloading for MTGA uses the rare version of Lightning Helix from MKM, but it's cheaper to craft it as an uncommon from a more recent print, maybe that can help some low budget viewers out when crafting it :-)
Didn't have time to finish the whole video. When did he rant about Carrot Cake? Can you share a timestamp? I was wondering what he thought about that card in this deck.
Thank you for this! Was stuck in diamond 1 going back and forth all over trying skeletons and bunnies nothing seemed to work then tried this deck and went on a win streak not dropping a game into mythic.
I’ve always been such a big fan of kutzils flanker ever since it released. It’s such a toolbox of a card. It’s first ability is great if you can sense a board wipe coming too
I have not played hundreds of games with this deck! But I humbly offer a couple of card suggestions. Dusk Rose Reliquary -- play it for one mana post-combat, sac the forge token to satisfy the extra casting cost... you can exile an opponent's creature or artifact. (Awesome for forge mirrors). Vanish Into Eternity -- this meta has tons of artifacts and enchantments and planeswalkers. This card exiles them for 3 mana at instant speed. Late-game, you can even pay 6 mana to exile a creature at instant speed if you need to. I like 2 of each of these, so of course that means we have to make cuts to fit them in? My thought is one Sunfall, one Forge, one Flanker, and one Get Lost.
I think Forge is too critical to this deck's game plan to not run four Forges. I'd instead maybe cut one of the Lightning Helixes-two mana deal 3 gain 3 is cool but not a four of card in a control deck.
I tried this deck and I really want to love it. Very sweaty, sweaty games... Mana screwed almost every time(or being stuck with battleforge forever), the opponents using the tokens from get lost to pump up big creatures, or almost never getting what needed at the right moment. You can still win in these moments, but... Caretaker's talent is very good though, and season in the burrow is excellent. With a few modifications, it's a promising deck IMHO.
Brotherhood's End is easily the most underrated control card in this format. It checks Boros Tokens, Artifact Simulacrum, Artifact aggro, Convoke, Rabbits, Lizards, Bats. Only downside is double red.
This took my red/white control to the next level in best of one. I play both in best of 1 and 3. But I think this build is perfect to play when I am trying to just get a few games in with a similar deck archetype. Thanks CGB
I run less Seasons and Sunfalls and instead run a few Warleaders Calls. It increases the damage by quite a lot, shortening the clock. I do like a mix of Lockdown and Brotherhood’s End as exile effects do help prevent some scary damage from mono red. But I can see how the deck could lean heavier to Brotherhood’s End vs Lockdown. My build got me to mythic today so I’m definitely happy with it 😊
I've also played hundreds of games with this deck. Strongly agree with your deck choices...but one thing I wasn't totally on board with was cutting all of the Sunken Citadel's. Having a 2 mana land for activating Fountainport, Mirrex, and Bivowac seemed really powerful. I didnt notice you discussing cutting the Sunken Citadels. Could you comment on that?
You should try the 4 and 5 color decks finally if you want late control. I have so omega much fun with niv-mizzet and atraxa. Cornucopia wins games with doppelgang. Ill-Timed Explosion, additionally cast from Invasion of Alara saves you early.
As requested at 1:04:03 : I had success replacing 2 of the flankers with 2 Virtue of Loyalty. There's still one flanker against graveyard strategies and flashing in a 2/2 that triggers caretaker's talent for 2 mana feels better than a 1/3 for 3 mana. With the upgraded caretaker's talent, they usually become 4/4 with the potential to get even higher. Based on my experience after 15 games with the adapted version in Diamond bracket.
this deck could support one of my favorite meta cards, doorkeeper thrull. 100 game play tested decks are exactly what people want, the "oh this looks interesting" decks are why we watch mtg goldfish
CGB! Id like to take this time to wish you a late happy birthd... But before that. Have you ever seen the card carrot cake?? Its god level. 😂 Ive been playing this list a lot and wanted to share with you that I replaced the flanker with heartflame duelist, brought the duelist back with season of borrow, and then proceeded to destroy mono red all while gaining hilarious amounts of life off brotherhoods end.
The urabrask forge deck is why I stopped playing any format that isn't brawl on arena. It's so annoying that 9 out of 10 decks I face online are that crap lol. Still love the videos and cgb as always!
I almost never craft decks, but I’ve loved playing Flanker in my Azorius deck & I like it in here. It’s almost never a dead card and just completely hoses graveyard nonsense.
"Oh man, I haven't played Standard since rotation. Is Boros tokens still good?" "Oh, absolutely, yes." "Oh great, I won't have to get too many new cards then." "Oh, it's a control deck now." "Wait, what?"
Great deck, got me to diamond since a very long time. I swapped 3 flankers for 3 high noon and that card destroys mono red and other aggro. When I face more grave yard shenanigans I can always go back to flanker.
I been playing the azorius version of this deck in locals. Still undefeated. It feels completely cracked and can handle the other caretaker control variants well too
Can confirm this deck wrecks. Easiest 15 daily wins i’ve had since bloomburrow got released. just as i was about to give up on this mono red, rakdos, boros aggro, discard hellscape that is B01, CGB saves the day.
Pretty solid, but still I have a losing record against red and rakdos sac decks. Those decks are the strongest Bo1 decks I have seen since the advent of Bo1! Amusing how Boros convoke very quickly became a second-rate deck in view of how strong these are.
is the problem really Caretaker's? Or is it Fountainport? I think it's the FountainportCaretaker's Talent combo that makes it so ubiquitous; that you don't need to play spells that combo with it, necessarily. A resolved Caretaker's off the top with an empty hand turns into a stupid amount of value off a land you already had in play.
I use Loran as my only creature to take down forge. I'll certainly try brotherhood's end & torch instead of smite and lockdown. Otherwise we are pretty much aligned.
as someone who started playing in bloomburrow its so damn hard to find good decks that only use cards bloomburrow and newer. this one requires 46 rare wildcards :D dam looked fun. aside from the free packs there is no real way to get older packs is there? aside from buying them?
That torben match. I use an orshov deck with that cocept built in. Flickering lockdown is so much fun. I wanna try adding red but i dont like the temp lockdown being the whole strat.
My only experiment is I have been running a Jeskai tokens variant that I made over time and I think splashing blue has made it really potent in the mirror matchup. I made mythic with it and I usually struggle to make it out of diamond so maybe there is something there
I got an pure mono red hate bat deck for ya...Its bat sht crazy i tell ya. I just build it so its still in the works. theres a chance the temporary lockdown player was streamsniping considering the "your go" they sent in reaction to their deck being bad mouthed, and overly precautious play patterns at the right time. Obviously that's just random speculation. (my comment wasn't influenced by CGBs comment. I was under the impression that the situation seemed streamsnipey before it was made). The deck is extremely creative kudos to them
I actually ran into this deck on the ladder before I watched this video, would have helped if I had seen this one first. Though I got lucky and my opponent misplayed a critical turn and didn't kill me when he could and my life gain deck popped off the next turn making the W just out of reach.
@CovertGoBlue, about your 26 vs 27 land logic. (26/60) * 7 = 3.0333, so I would think 26 would be plenty to favor starting with 3. Heck (22/60) * 7 = 2.5667, so I'd think that'd favor 3 over 2. 26 would be the lowest number to favor 4 over 2. Am I getting something wrong?
Hey, I'm new to arena and can i ask how you're able to have so many coins and gems and how you're able to have all these cards for decks? I see you have not very many coins in this video but i swear i saw you had like 100k of them in another video lol
But CGB I feel like this deck is missing a certain vegetable card that offers the right sweetness for those stickier situations! If only there were card like that... I guess we'll never know!
Funny, when I play this EXACT deck in platinum, I get bad draws after bad draws. Like 3 talents in first 15 cards. Like keeping 3-lands hand and having 8 lands on turn 6. Like my opponents always having Glissa. Like my red-deck opponent top-decking creature every turn after I kill their 2-shot-off hand while I draw only lands. And these things also happen to me non-stop when drafting. It's like Wizards turn on a "screw this guy" switch on me. Every time I watch streams like CGB or Jim Davis, their deck just works perfectly in every game, while when *I* play them the deck get the most awful draws every time. Makers me think these streams are currated to only show winning games, with maybe a loss here and there for veri-similitude.
I am trying to get Rarran to Mythic before the season ends, but he is losing a lot and seems so tiled! Send energy! ruclips.net/user/liveUTELhyWtfO4?si=gzd1Bo8oLQ0eBQ7R
He is tiled? Sounds rough.
Nice hair style CGB it matches the Deck👏👍
How can I send you a deck list?
Finally a curated list considering meta, with full analysis and stuff! Quality content
I know it’s not possible to do this for every deck, but I thoroughly enjoyed the analysis of why cards did or did not make the cut
Same!! I just became a paid member
Same
Agreed! Best CGB content in months!
came here to make this same comment. my fav content in quite a while. old school cgb BO1 master
Agreed it was super insightful
The intro analysis is what sets this channel apart. You need to know WHY to choose 1 card over another. You can always tell the players who netdeck but don't know how to pilot the deck. Thanks, CGB, you're 1 cool kat!
It's the difference between playing a deck and piloting a deck.
I know that a lot of people skip the deck tech, and because of that you've been making them shorter, but I really missed the more in depth deck techs at the start like this one, great video CGB!
Which is funnt because for me it is the opposite xD
I am also absolutely a fan of more analysis

Love the detailed breakdown videos!
That Mardu durdle deck looks sick! Fingers crossed you do a video with it. 😂
"You shouldnt be allowed to be that lucky..." Proceeds to draw 3 torch the tower, 2 flankers and 3 get losts in his first 14 cards lol.
Love the analysis in the beginning of the video. Great insight for the 100 game progression the deck went through!
Great video! I love the fact that you came back to this deck to review it after having a larger sample size of games.
I really like this version for the answers with things like Kutzil's Flanker. But have you thought about carrot cake? 😇 Great video, appreciate the carrot cake rant! Happy birthday!
Didn't have time to finish the whole video. When did he rant about Carrot Cake? Can you share a timestamp? I was wondering what he thought about that card in this deck.
Outro.
"you're nothing cake"
Thank you for this! Was stuck in diamond 1 going back and forth all over trying skeletons and bunnies nothing seemed to work then tried this deck and went on a win streak not dropping a game into mythic.
I went 0-45 with this deck because I was always missing a 1/1 blocker and some lifegain. If only there was a card that could help.
what like fountainport? xD
I’ve always been such a big fan of kutzils flanker ever since it released. It’s such a toolbox of a card. It’s first ability is great if you can sense a board wipe coming too
@13:09 I could ask anything , but i already know the answer. NO QUESTIONS!
LOVE the analyst version of an intro in this video. MORE PLEASE.

Would love to see the decklist for that durdle deck. Would also love to see CGB play it
yea same i cant find one
Thanks CGB, this is stuff I love about MTG
This took my red/white control to the next level in best of one. I play both in best of 1 and 3. But I think this build is perfect to play when I am trying to just get a few games in with a similar deck archetype. Thanks CGB

CGB jealous he didn't think of the lame temporary lockdown deck
Love the detailed deck tech and assessment of meta!
Beautiful video, CGB, as always. Happy birthday! But have you heard about carrot cake?
I've also played hundreds of games with this deck. Strongly agree with your deck choices...but one thing I wasn't totally on board with was cutting all of the Sunken Citadel's. Having a 2 mana land for activating Fountainport, Mirrex, and Bivowac seemed really powerful.

I like Mondrak in my Boros anti-aggro, it's a great finisher and hard to remove
Virtue of loyalty in, flanker out. Makes this deck way stronger
As requested at 1:04:03 : I had success replacing 2 of the flankers with 2 Virtue of Loyalty. That last game was something! A pleasure to watch as usual.
Also this deck tech was sooo insightful its crazy, might have to try this version for my mythic climb
That’s how the cake crumbles.
The urabrask forge deck is why I stopped playing any format that isn't brawl on arena. It's so annoying that 9 out of 10 decks I face online are that crap lol.
Still love the videos and cgb as always!
the stick in the last mono-red game was from the plotted show-off, rather than land ^.^
Love this deck got me to diamond yesterday, trying to push to mythic with just a few days left!
I have found that Requisition Raid is a really good card, especially in the mirror.
I almost never craft decks, but I’ve loved playing Flanker in my Azorius deck & I like it in here. It’s almost never a dead card and just completely hoses graveyard nonsense.
"Oh man, I haven't played Standard since rotation. Is Boros tokens still good?"
"Oh, absolutely, yes."
"Oh great, I won't have to get too many new cards then."

Izzet Forge decks feat. Eddymurk Crab are also a ton of fun!
"Why does Crokeyz look my age and I look Crokeyz age?" lmao
Happy Birthday CGB!
Great deck, got me to diamond since a very long time. I swapped 3 flankers for 3 high noon and that card destroys mono red and other aggro.
When I face more grave yard shenanigans I can always go back to flanker.
Personally I’m not too terribly excited for duskmourn but I’ll be watching every video you release on it lol.
Watched your monowhite control deck and loved it but did my own list just wanted to say thanks
Did you ever test with outlaws Magda? Get some extra tokens at instant speed and maybe an alternative win con with Dragon's if needed
Strong technical analysis, thanks bro
Amazing break down!
Damn I'm glad I saw this, I was about to craft the original one today
I played over 200 games, with red white token control, and was positive it wasn’t the best build 😂. Looking forward to this!
Pretty solid, but still I have a losing record against red and rakdos sac decks. Those decks are the strongest Bo1 decks I have seen since the advent of Bo1! Amusing how Boros convoke very quickly became a second-rate deck in view of how strong these are.
Happy born day CGB you Re amazing and I hope the amazingness for never ends. And thanks for the amazing content as well
Caretaker's Talent is the new Fable Of The Mirror Breaker. Wizard will ban it once it in every decks.
is the problem really Caretaker's? Or is it Fountainport? I think it's the FountainportCaretaker's Talent combo that makes it so ubiquitous; that you don't need to play spells that combo with it, necessarily. A resolved Caretaker's off the top with an empty hand turns into a stupid amount of value off a land you already had in play.
Sure, Talent could be the new Fable, but it's probably not. Fable was 2 threats in 1, plus card filtering and remp.
Fable is waaaaaay more OP than Caretaker's Talent
I don't think so, Fable was good in every deck no matter what your gameplan was. Caretaker's Talent at least requires you to build around it.
That lockdown flicker deck was so cool
That torben match. I use an orshov deck with that cocept built in. Flickering lockdown is so much fun. I wanna try adding red but i dont like the temp lockdown being the whole strat.
My only experiment is I have been running a Jeskai tokens variant that I made over time and I think splashing blue has made it really potent in the mirror matchup. I made mythic with it and I usually struggle to make it out of diamond so maybe there is something there
CGB great videos happy birthday man 🎉🎉
I got an pure mono red hate bat deck for ya...Its bat sht crazy i tell ya. I just build it so its still in the works. Dont have cavern of souls yet though and not sure if it will comp either, but perhaps having 2 of em wont hurt....Check it out and tweak some for sure since im doing some small adjustments rn....But man it hits like a truck and are agro af when Starscape cleric is going ham...MVP in this deck for sure along with Zoraline and Aclazots ofc ;) Works fine against discard decks and mono green stompy decks to ^^ Shelly works ofc to as a sidenote

In the last game the player conceded because you had lethal by powering up the 2 bivoaucs, not because they knew your hand.
loved the deck and the intro
theres a chance the temporary lockdown player was streamsniping considering the "your go" they sent in reaction to their deck being bad mouthed, and overly precautious play patterns at the right time. Obviously that's just random speculation. (my comment wasn't influenced by CGBs comment. I was under the impression that the situation seemed streamsnipey before it was made). The deck is extremely creative kudos to them
The Mardu durdle deck looks fun. But let see how it plays when the opponent doesn't get land screwed for half the match.
5:33 good analysis
I actually ran into this deck on the ladder before I watched this video, would have helped if I had seen this one first. Though I got lucky and my opponent misplayed a critical turn and didn't kill me when he could and my life gain deck popped off the next turn making the W just out of reach.
Having jlk wish you a happy birthday is such a flex
Yes, there a lot of mirror matches you only need abrade or broterhood end's to destroy forge
Mackinac Island!? Im from northern Michigan, where is CGB from?
Happy Birthday CGB -for whenever it was-
@CovertGoBlue, about your 26 vs 27 land logic. (26/60) * 7 = 3.0333, so I would think 26 would be plenty to favor starting with 3. Heck (22/60) * 7 = 2.5667, so I'd think that'd favor 3 over 2. 26 would be the lowest number to favor 4 over 2. Am I getting something wrong?
I believe it has more to do with Arena's hand smoothing algorithm and how it works than actual probability
Yea… I run 26 lands in almost every deck and I miss my 3rd land drop more than the aggro decks… Arena is broken.
You really should do more intros like this. If that doesn't fit into the regular channel a subchannel like this would probably get many followers too
I do agree no beza or carrot cake. So good to see that
Hey, I'm new to arena and can i ask how you're able to have so many coins and gems and how you're able to have all these cards for decks? I see you have not very many coins in this video but i swear i saw you had like 100k of them in another video lol
Yes! I knew this thing was coming!
happy belated birthday, CGB!
Happy Birthday CGB!!!!
damn the Mardu deck is insane, i tryed to find a list but no succes i'll try on my own if i can deck-tech-tived that one
After a month into this format, I'm surprised this deck is not even represented on untapped.
With the loss of farewell, people are braver with dumb combo’s now . I really want something like devastating mastery to return for clearing boards.
Can you show us the stats of the 100 games please.
Thank you for your sacrifice
Happy late birthday CGB!
as if sunfall needed anymore upside, now it draws a card with caretakers talent...
But CGB I feel like this deck is missing a certain vegetable card that offers the right sweetness for those stickier situations! If only there were card like that... I guess we'll never know!
Why no Mondrak?
I’ve learned that people like playing this deck.
Mardu Blink deck slapped, build it!
where can I find the course at
42:35 "Looks like demure control..."
